Twelve ophiolite belts have been delineated in China and her neighbouring regions. Basic geologicalfeatures, lithochemical characteristics, and standardized forms of rare earth elements for some majorophiolite belts arc described. In addition, the geological implication of ophiolite belt study is also discused.
