摘要
本文首次报道纵纹腹小、、长耳卵壳的气孔、木栅层、锥体层、乳锥体、壳膜、基底帽等结构的扫描电镜观察,并对不同种类进行分析,初步探讨了它们的分类价值和生态意义。
he paper reports observations on the ultrastructures of spiracle, palisade Layer, coneLayer, mammilary corn eggshell membrane and hasal cap of the eggshell of three species ofOwls (Athene metua,Bubo bubo and Asio otus). The outer surface of the eggshell of owls issmooth, but the pores of the Eagle Owl are bigger and more obvious. The thickness of theeggshells is related with the weight of the eggs. In tangential sections, the mammillary conelooks like a 'flower',and the spiracle is in the central of that of the Little Owl,but in theside and mixed with the cracks of the other two species. The hasal caps of the Little Owl arenearly 'V'-shaped;those of the Eagle Owl 'U'-shaped and of the Long-eared Owl 'even'-shapped irregularly. The 'prism'-shaped Calcium crystals from the surface to the cone layerowned only by the Eagle Owl may be considered to consolidate the eggshell. The fibres ofshell membranes of three species of owls are longer and denser. The shell membranes areconsidered to be physiological protective screens to eggs, while the arrangement of their fibres appears to be mostly affected by the breeding behavior and habits of the owls.
