The photocatalytic activities of zinc ferrites synthesized by shock wave loading were investigated and compared with that prepared by calcination. It was shown that the former has much higher photocatalytic activity than the latter, and their activities were increased with the increase of shock wave pressures. XRD and TEM methods were used to characterize the catalysts, and the possible reasons for the enhancement of photocatalytic activity were discussed.
