摘要
借鉴尤金.A.奈达提出的“功能对等(functional equ ivalence)的翻译原则,利用索绪尔语言符号学的理论,根据翻译目的的不同,对中译英的一般原则作了初步的阐释:应对源语符号和目标语符号采取不同的对等方式,要么突显音型层面,要么突显概念层面,要么兼顾音型层面和概念层面,以期达到翻译的目标。
Based on the principle of functional equivalence proposed by Eugene A. Nida and following the different purposes of translation, this paper intends to expound some general principles in Chinese-English translation from the point of view of Ferdinand de Saussure＇ s semiotics： Translation should adapt different functional equivalence between the source language signs and those of the target language, either making salient the surface layer of sound pattern or the layer of concept or the both layers in order to reach the aim of good and sound translation.
