Objective To investigate the correlation between calcium, iron, zinc and blood levels of lead. Methods A total Of 1,688 children aged 0-6 years old were selected from outpatient department. By using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, the blood levels of lead, calcium, iron, and zinc were measured and analyzed. . Results The mean blood lead level was 48. 35μg/L. The prevalence of lead poisoning was 15.9%. Regression and correlation analysis showed that there was significant difference between the blood lead level and calcium or zinc, and the blood lead level was negatively related to calcium or zinc. Conclusion Lead poisoning is associated with decreased blood levels of calcium and zinc.
