The effects of the relative humidity on the vulcanizing properties of one-component RTV-1 silicone sealant in different curing system and with different filler systems were discussed. The results showed that the relative humidity affected the vulcanizing properties of five products with three curing systems. For acetic cured and methanol cured products with SiO_2 filler, higher relative humidity shortened the surface drying time, extended the tack-free time and increased the cured depth. For oxime cured silicone sealant with filler SiO_2, higher relative humidity shortened the surface drying time, increased the cured depth but had little effects on the tack-free time. For methanol cured silicone sealant with filler CaCO_3, higher relative humidity increased the surface drying time, the tack-free time and cured depth as well. For oxime cured silicone sealant with filler CaCO_3, higher relative humidity shortened the surface drying time, increased the cured depth but did not change the tack-free time. Both acetic acid cured SJS668 and oxime cured SJS9200(filler: SiO_2)could be vulcanized in the condition of relative humidity range from 20%~95%. However, it was necessary to extend conservation time when relative humidity was low. Methanol cured SJS5500(filler: SiO_2)was cured in the condition of relative humidity range from 35%~65%, and both ethanol cured SJS6300 (filler: CaCO_3 ) and oxime cured SJS3300 (filler: CaCO_3) were cured in the condition of relative humidity range from 35%~80%.
