摘要
探讨了在机械研磨的界面上引入超声能的复合研磨方式,将机械研磨和超声/机械研磨两种方法的去除效率、研磨质量进行了实验对比,发现超声/机械复合研磨的效率和质量都有显著提高,可以达到插入损耗小于0.1dB、回波损耗小于-60dB的性能指标;对超声/机械复合研磨的机理进行了初步分析。获得的规律对工艺研究及工业生产有指导意义。
In order to improve the surface quality and machining efficiency for the end-face of fiber optic connector and to advance the performance of transferring optical signals, the conventional polishing way must be improved to meet the requirements of next generation fiber optic connector with lower insertion losses and return losses. This paper discussed a new ultrasonic polishing in which the ultrasonic energy was introduced to the interface of common polishing, and compared this new polishing process with the common polishing process in the material removal rate (MRR) and polishing quality. It has been proved that the MRR and machining quality are improved greatly; the insertion loss and return loss below 0. ldB and -60dB are obtained respectively. This paper also applied a simple analysis on the mechanism of the new coalescence process. The conclusions are useful to further researches and industrial applications.
