摘要
全国公共英语等级考试是1999年起教育部大力推广的考试体系。从该考试的最高级别第五级测试的理论基础、试卷结构和信度、效度、真实性等方面进行分析,探讨其特点和先进性。
PETS is a popular testing system expected to standardize various English tests in China. This paper analyses the characteristicsof PETS5 （ the highest level） from its theoretical background, structure, validity, reliability and authenticity, and regards it as comparatively advanced, rational and feasible.
