New Development and Perspectives of Monetary Cooperation among East Asian Countries

摘要经济全球化和区域金融一体化的迅速发展,给东亚地区提出了一个现实的紧迫课题:作为世界经济的重要一极,东亚各国有必要加强本地区内的金融协调与合作,东亚区域货币面临着重新整合的必要与趋势。本文从东亚货币合作的发展状况和特点出发,分析了东亚货币合作的原因及其可行性,以此为基础提出要发展和推动东亚货币合作,应当走先建立亚洲货币基金,再实行汇率联动机制,最后过渡到东亚单一货币区的循序渐进之路。 The rapid development of economic globalization and regional unification in finance have posed an urgent challenge to East Asia： Given the important role East Asia plays in world economy, it is necessary for the East Asian countries to strengthen the financial cooperation and coordination within the region. Thus, these countries are faced with the possibility and a tendency of restructure of their monetary systems. Based on an analysis of the reasons for and feasibility of monetary cooperation in East Asia, the author discusses the procedures of promoting monetary cooperation in East Asia： set up an Asian funds first, establish the mechanism for interaction, and gradually move on to a unitary monetary system in East Asia.
