摘要
通过对105名英语专业学生的问卷调查,对EFL学习者语言能力和语用能力的性别差异进行探究,发现在听力、阅读、写作等方面不存在性别差异,而在口语和语用方面,女生要在一定程度上优于男生。在尝试对调查数据进行分析讨论的基础上,提出了相关建议以提高教学效果,培养学生的语言能力和语用能力。
Based on a study involving 105 randomly chosen college English majors, this paper examines the way sexual difference tends to impact on EFL learners’ linguistic and pragmatic competence. Its findings indicate that while sex does not affect the students’ competence in listening, reading and writing in general, females do enjoy a distinctive advantage over males when it comes to speaking and to the development of pragmatic competence. The paper goes on to discuss the pedagogical implications of these findings, offering suggestions for dealing with the said differences.
