摘要 [A Review] The irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic functional bowel disorder,and its pathogenesis remains unclear. Serotonin is thought to be an important brain-gut axis neurotransmitter,which plays an important role in the gastrointestinal motility,sensation and secretion. Serotonin is closely associatied with IBS and regarded as one of the therapeutic targets. This article reviews the related investigations in the recent years.
