The effect of rare earth lanthanium( ) ion on corrosion rate of aluminium and synergism of corrosion inhibition between La3+and nonionic surfactant polyethlene glycol mono- ( p) octyl phenyl ether( OP) for aluminium in hydrochloric acid medium have been in- vestigated by weight loss method.It is found that La3+ion accelerates corrosion rate of alu- minium.The inhibition synergism by adding both L a3+and OP in hydrochloric acid medium is dramatically exhibited.
