摘要
分形几何（ＦｒａｃｔａｌＧｅｏｍｅｔｒｙ）是研究不规则图形的一种新方法．区域与城市规划以人类社会活动的空间结构与综合发展为研究客体，其面对的繁杂现象和图形用传统量化工具处理十分困难．
Fractal geometry,as a new approach to study irregular patterns,is used in natural and social science within an expanding range.Regional and urban planning deals with the location of various social activities,where it is difficult to analyze and to process the miscellaneous patterns by classical quantitative methods.This paper discusses the necessarity and importance of introducing the fractal concept into the planning area.
