AIM: To analyze the variation of electrocardiograph (EEG) in college basketball players in order to provide evidence for motor intervention. METHODS: Twelve female players from Yantai Normal University were selected from 2001 to 2003 to record EEG at static state, before and after match, and during progressively increasing load exercise. RESULTS: A follow-up of EEG was performed in the 12 players within three years, and EEG was examined 95 times at static state with an efficient rate of 100%, and 196 times during different degree exercise with an efficient rate of 96%(189). ① Among the 12 players, the highest heart rate was 67 beats per minute, the lowest was 46 beats per minutes and the average rate was 53.9 beats per minutes. There were 8 players of sinus bradycardia (below 60 beats per minutes) accounting for 66.7%. In addition, heart rate in the players had a slower tendency with the prolongation of exercise time.② Changes of EEG was closely associated with exercise loading. The harder the training was, the quicker the EEG changed; the faster the change happened, the more possible the abnormality was. Sometimes, it took up to 58% in seven players. There were 3 (43%) players of tonic increase, 2(29%) of tonic incompleteness, and 2 (29%) of asthenia. CONCLUSION: Changes of EEG can reflect the function of cardiovascular system and training degree of athletes at different stages of exercise. Along with the training loading, especially the intensity loading progressively increasing or increasing faster, the changes of EEG become faster.
