The effects of pre-and postnatal exposure to lead acetate on the neurobehavior development of newborn mice were studied. Oral administration of lead acetate (0. 05%, 0. 1%) was given to pregnant mice daily until weaned. The results of behavioral tests indicate that some behavioral development of newborn mice, especialy the visual discrimination function was retarded. It is suggested that the mother's lead could be transferred to the filial generation during pregnancy and lactation.
