摘要
马修·阿诺德作为维多利亚时期最伟大的批评家之一,在文学批评史上占有重要的地位。文学道德观是其文学评论中的核心内容。本文通过他对许多诗人的评论分析了他的“人生批评”的诗歌理论,阐述了文学与社会道德的关系,并通过与托·斯·艾略特观点的比较,指出阿诺德的文学道德观在维多利亚时期的重要性。
As the most influential critic in the Victorian period, Matthew Arnold has an important place in literary critical history. Morality is the essence of his literary criticism. His view that 'poetry is the criticism of life' is analyzed through his comments on, many poets to illustrate the social and moral functions of poetry. From its comparison with Eliot's literary view, it is concluded that Arnold's literary criticism is of great importance to Victorian literature.
