Writers in colonies represent their cultures by three means: running against Western culture, identifying themselves with the local culture or mixing different cultures. However, the three means can't help them get away from the hegemony of Western culture. On the contrary, the literature of some postcolonial writers conspires with and strengthens the hegemony of Western culture. Faced with the dilemma, they should get rid of the writing modes which carry Western cultural hegemony. The postcolonial literature's culture representation should be faithful to the people's interests, to what there actually practices and to how people feel about their activities in society. In this way, a new image of their culture can be constructed.
