How can wharfs meet the requirements of national defence that they can function properly for both peacetime and wartime use, and they can perform both lifting and roll-on-roll-off operations? The Shanghai Wharf sets a good example for them in this respect.This paper briefly introduces the overall structure and the main operation principles of it.
