Objective To determine the expression and clinical significance of CD105 in angiogenesis of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods The expression of MVD marked with CD105 was detected by S-P immunohistochemistry in 52 specimens of pancreatic carcinoma and 10 speimens of normal pancreas tissue. Correlation between MVD and clinicopathological features as well as survival was also statistically analyzed. Results There was a significant difference between the MVD in pancreatic carcinoma and that in the normal tissue (P<0.01). Besides, the MVD differentiated in pancreatic carcinomas with dissimilar histopathological grade(P<0.05). Furthermore, the MVD in stage from Ⅲ to Ⅳ was much higher than that in stage from Ⅰ to Ⅱ. In the same way, the MVD in those with metastasis of lymph node was much higher than those without metastasis. The analysis of single factor revealed that the MVD evidently related with the survival rate of patients. Conclusion The experiment suggests that the expression of CD105 play an important role in the estimation of diagnosis, dysplasia, prognosis and treatment of pancreatic carcinoma.
