Special Techniques in DLP-based Projection Display

摘要 介绍了数字微镜器件(Digital Micromirror Device,DMD)的特点,对DLP投影显示中的特殊技术进行了论述。DLP投影显示中的特殊技术主要表现在DMD及其电子学控制、DLP光学引擎设计、DLP光机结构设计等多个方面,例如DMD的结构、DMD的寻址和复位、DMD的二进制PWM驱动、色滤光片控制、光源控制器设计、消杂散光处理、热设计等。由于采用了这些特殊技术,DLP投影显示系统获得了高质量的显示图像,其可靠性也得到了极大提高。 This paper introduces DMD characteristics and expounds the special techniques used in DLP projection display. These techniques mainly include DMD and it′s electronic control, DLP optical engine design, DLP optical and mechanical structure design, such as DMD structure, DMD addressing and reset, DMD binary PWM drive, color filter controller, light source controller, stray light restraining, thermal design and etc. By adopting these special techniques, high quality display image is achieved in DLP projection display system and the reliability is greatly improved.
