介绍了费尔马猜想．梗概地论述了３００多年来数学家和数学爱好者为证明费尔马猜想所产生的可歌可泣的事迹，评介了怀尔斯对费尔马猜想的证明．
This paper presents Fermat's conjecture, makes a brief account of the stirring deeds performed by mathematicians and mathematics enthusiasts for the past 300 odd years to testify Fermat's conjecture, and offers an assessment of Wiles's proving of the-conjecture.
