摘要
Few subjects in shipping have received as much coverage as the lnternational Safety Management (ISM) Code recently. Al-though the issues of ISM Code have been debated for many years, it will become mandatory in the near future. As a strict standard for safety management, the implementation of ISM Code will undoubtedly have an effect on some areas of the cur-rent shipping law.Emphasizing on controlling the human factor, ISM Code is a systematic safe operational system whose purpose is to provide an international standard for the safe management and operation of ships for pollution prevention. From the aspect of manning and equipping, this paper prospects the effect on the seaworthi-ness system by implementation of ISM Code by the case analy-sis.
