摘要
中国的文化体系和汉语言体系同西文不同,是一种比较重“意”的体系,中文的目的语读者在潜意识里总是要求从事物当中寻求一定的意义。因此,除少数情况外,只有给译名赋予一定的“意”才能使其在汉语言中完成其语言功能,才能在汉文化中立足。通过分析译名汉译的不同方式和适宜采用音译或零翻译的各种特殊情况便可看出在绝大多数情况下,译名的汉译应当使用意译和兼译的方式而不宜采用“不译”(即单纯的音译或零翻译)的方式。
The linguistic and cultural systems of China are different from that of the West in that they put more emphasis on the understanding of″meaning″.To fulfill linguistic functions and produce appropriate translations,E/C translation of terms and names must take the conveying of″meaning″as its top priority.Through analyzing different ways of translating terms and names and the special cases in which transliteration and zero-translation can be used the writer argues that,in most cases,E/C Translation of terms and names should adopt free translation or semantic transliteration instead of non-translation(namely pure transliteration or zero-translation).
