摘要
自 198 0年代以来 ,美国的无家可归问题一直相当严峻。政府在投入大笔救助资金、强调相关部门通力合作的同时 ,对救助设施和项目实施了民营化改革 ,从而在一定程度上实现了从应急式、看护式救助向实质性救助的转变 ,使许多无家可归者不仅满足了基本的生理需要 ,而且也获得了身心健康方面的照顾。
Homelessness has been a serious social problem in America since 1980's. In response to this problem, the U.S.government has expanded the federal funding through the 1987 Mckinney Act and assisted the homeless with provision of numerous services such as emergency shelters, mental health and substantive relief services. Most policies have been effective in reducing the number of the homeless in America.
