This paper records eight species of Stictopleurus from China, namely S. punctato-nervosus (Goeze), S. minutus Blote sp. dist., S. abutilon (Rossi), 5. sericevs (Horvath), S. viridicatus (U hler), S. subviridis Hsiao, S. crassicornis (L.)and S. sichuananus sp. nov.Maps of distribution and a key to species are presented.Stictopleurus minutus Blote, sp. dist.We have observed a large number of specimens of the punctatonervosus group which may differentiate into two forms, i. e. punctatonervosus and minutus; the former has long and dense pubescence and long clasper (Figs. 1-2), while the latter has short pubescence and short clasper (Figs. 3-4). Their distribution areas are extensively overlapping in some parts of China, but transitional forms or clines are rarely found. Thus we now treat minutus Blote as a distinct species rather than a subspecies of punctatonervosus as considered by Josifov & Kerzhner (1978)and Putshkov (1986).Stictopleurus sichuananus, sp. nov.Yellowish brown, tinged with greyish green ; pubescence yellowish brown, comparatively long and dense; lengt of pubescence on head, pronotum and scutellum twice the diameter of 2nd antennal segment; antennal pubescence short, with 2 types of hairs, one decumbent and the other slanting. Pronotum and corial veins with black spots;scutellum with dense black punctures, lateral callus margin narrow. Abdominal tergites black, tergite V with a longitudinal elliptical spot at the center, tergite VI with a pair of small spots at anterior margin, and tergite VI with a pair of elongate yellow spots laterally.Body length 6.3mm, abdominal width 2.1mm, pronotum length 1.1mm, width between anterior angles of pronotum 1.1mm, width between lateral angles 1.8mm, vertex width 0.8mm, lengths of antennal segments 0.5 : 0.9 : 0.85 : 1.13mm, lengths of rostral segments 0.8 : 0.84 : 0.62 : 0.55mm.Holotype Sichuan (Noergai, 3300m) 29- VI - 1963, Zheng Leyi leg. Paratypes 4 , Sichuan (3 , Noergai; 1 , Xiao Jing).Very similar to S. subviridis Hsiao in coloration and habitus, but differs in the infolding of the lateral rim of pygofer wide (Figs. 15- 18)and in clasper remarkably structured (Figs. 19-21).
