摘要
钱钟书所言的“围城”实际上是中国传统文化的“围城”与西方现代文化的“围城” ,走出传统文化的“围城”意味着钱钟书对中国文化现代化的追求 ,打破西方现代文化的“围城”暗示了钱钟书对现代性所造成的负面效应的批判。钱钟书的围城就是每一个现代中国人的围城 ,走不出传统文化围城但极力想走出传统文化围城 。
What Qian Zhongshu calls the “fortress besieged” actually refers to both the “besieged fortress” in traditional Chinese culture and that in contemporary Western culture. Walking out of the traditional “besieged fortress” means Qian's pursuit of the modernization of the Chinese culture, whereas breaking up the “besieged fortress” of contemporary Western culture implies his criticism of the negative impacts brought about by modernity. Qian's “besieged fortress” is also one that every modern Chinese has to face a “dual fortress” that points to both traditional and contemporary cultures.
