含蓄的描写能引起读者的想象,使读者从中获得审美的愉悦。本文论述了文学翻译应保持原文的含蓄描写和原有形象的重要性,并对如何帮助译文读者理解外国典故的问题进行了探讨。
Implicit description can provoke the reader' s imagination, which gives the reader pleasure of aesthetic appreciation. The present paper expounds the importance of keeping the implicit meanings and images in translation, and attempts to answer the question how to help make foreign classical allusions understood by the Chinese reader.
