From 1954 to 1965, the Americans had provided a great deal of military assistance to Pakistan for the purpose of containing so-called Communist expansion. These substantial aids and supports have profoundly affected the latter in political, economic, military, security and diplomatic dimensions. This paper examines the size of the military deliveries, the strategic intentions respective of Washington and Islamabad, and the overall impacts on Pakistan.
