摘要
文章利用模因论和框架理论,分析了英语"-gate"词汇向汉语传播的模因动因,同时对汉语"门"词汇意义泛化的认知理据作以解读。研究发现,英语"-gate"词汇跨文化传播过程就是"门"模因形成的过程,而汉语"门"词汇意义虽发生严重泛化,但泛化轨迹仍旧发生在"门"框架内部,是其核心概念向边缘概念扩展的过程。
The article aims to probe into the '-gate' phenomenon from the perspective of Memetics and Frame Theory to explain how English '-gate' words entered the Chinese language and why the meaning of Chinese '-gate' words greatly extended.The conclusions are that the transmission of '-gate' words from English into Chinese is the formation process of '-gate' meme;though the extension in the meaning happens,it does not go beyond the '-gate' frame,moving along the track from the core concept to the margin concept.
