摘要
对现代民主政治而言,来自民众的支持显得尤为重要。聚焦中国社会,民众的民主支持状况及其社会政治意涵,仍然有待探讨。2002至2015年多波抽样调查数据的分析,从经验层面呈现了民众民主支持的历时分布与结构特征:大多数民众持有稳定的原则性民主偏好,但相对性支持呈现纵向的下降趋势;民主的有效性能够得到大多数民众的认可,而不加限定的“民主”的适用性却已开始遭受挑战。与此不同的是,中国民众对政治制度本身则表现出更为坚实的支持取向。基于中国经验的政治支持研究中,政治制度与抽象的“民主”本身存在着一定区隔,民众对于本国制度的自信相比对于“民主”的信念,具有更重要的政治意涵。这将为中国式民主话语的认同强化提供重要的民意契机。
For modern democratic politics,support from the public is particularly important.Focusing on Chinese society,the state of popular support for democracy and its socio-political implications remained to be explored.The analysis of multi-wave sample survey data from 2002to 2015 empirically presented the historical distribution and structural characteristics of popular support for democracy:most people hold stable principled democratic preferences,but relative support shows a longitudinal downward trend;the effectiveness of democracy can be recognized by most people,while the applicability of unqualified“democracy”has begun to be challenged.The validity of democracy is recognized by most people,while the applicability of unqualified“democracy”has begun to be challenged.In contrast,the Chinese public has shown a more solid orientation toward support for the political system itself.In political support studies based on the Chinese experience,the political system is distinguished from the abstract“democracy”itself,and people’s confidence in their own system has a more important political connotation than their belief in“democracy”.This will provide an important opportunity for strengthening the identity of Chinese democratic discourse.
