Shortly after the earthquake, the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center of the Federal Highway Administration, in partnership with the Research Institute of Highways, the Ministry of Communication of China, led a reconnaissance team to conduct a post-earthquake bridge performance investigation of the transportation system in the earthquake affected areas. The U.S. transportation system reconnaissance team visited the area during July 20 24, 2008. This paper presents the findings and lessons learned by the team.展开更多
The various methods for microwave processing of materials exhibit numerous advantages,such as short processing times,high yield,expanded reaction conditions,high reproducibility,and high purity of products.Microwave-a...The various methods for microwave processing of materials exhibit numerous advantages,such as short processing times,high yield,expanded reaction conditions,high reproducibility,and high purity of products.Microwave-assisted synthesis strategies have been widely adopted for the preparation of highperformance graphene-based materials for supercapacitor electrodes.Metal oxides,mixed metal oxides,metal hydroxides,layered double hydroxides,carbon nanotubes and conducting polymers are some of the main materials which have been added to graphene derivatives for advanced composite/hybrid electrodes.This review article first provides a brief introduction and an overview of microwave heating and its advantages for processing graphene-based electrode materials.After that,a systematic survey of recently published research on microwave irradiation-assisted processing is presented,focusing on:(i)transformation of graphite/graphite oxide into graphene/graphene oxide by exfoliation and reduction;(ii)formation of graphene derivatives in various liquid and gaseous media;(iii)modification of graphene derivatives with various metal oxides/hydroxides,carbon nanotubes,and conducting polymers for use in supercapacitors.Major challenges and future perspectives for microwave-assisted processing of graphene-based materials for cutting-edge supercapacitor electrode applications are also summarized in the conclusion.展开更多

Rapidand accurate detection of system anomalies is of great significance to ensure system stability. However, large-scale distributed systems are becoming more andmore complex, and the number of system logs gradually increases, which bringschallenges to analyze system logs. Some recent studies show that logs can beunstable due to the evolution of log statements and noise introduced by log collection and parsing. Moreover, deep learning-based detection methods take a longtime to train models. Therefore, to reduce the computational cost and avoid loginstability we propose a new Word2Vec-based log unsupervised anomaly detection method (LogUAD). LogUAD does not require a log parsing step and takesoriginal log messages as input to avoid the noise. LogUAD uses Word2Vec togenerate word vectors and generates weighted log sequence feature vectors withTF-IDF to handle the evolution of log statements. At last, a computationally effi-cient unsupervised clustering is exploited to detect the anomaly. We conductedextensive experiments on the public dataset from Blue Gene/L (BGL). Results show that mean se...We studied seedling survival and growth ofAquilaria malaccensis in three different environmental conditions (homegardens, green house and in different canopy conditions) of northeast India. Results show that mean seasonal survival was highest in green house (95.53%±2.33), followed by homegardens (89.3%±1.89) and different canopy conditions (77.62%±6.73); the highest values were found during February to April for both the homegardens (96%±1.68) and green house (98% ± 0.88) and lowest during November to January (78%±2.99) in homegardens and May to July (90%:t:4.53) in green house. In case of transplanted seedlings in different canopy conditions, mean seasonal survival was highest during May to July (98%±1.92) and lowest during August to October (66%±12.81). However, mean seasonal growth of collar diameter was highest in different canopy conditions (23.99%±1.76) compared to green house (21.52%±2.70) and homegardens (12.44%±1.33) and it was highest during rainy season (May to July) and lowest during dry winter (November to January) in all the three experi- mental sites. These variations may be due to the different microclimatic conditions as well as nutrient status of the soil in all the three experimen- tal sites. Although, seedling quality plays a great role in their survival and growth, based on the result of green house experiment, it can be concluded that maintenance of seedlings in green house conditions during their early growth period may improve both the survival and growth for large scale plantation of the species. Thus, the species can be reintroduced in its natural forest range to compensate the loss of natural population of this precious species in northeast India.展开更多
