Results indicated that it was possible to increase nitrogen removal by using corresponding control strategies, such as, adjusting the DO set point according to effluent ammonia concentration; manipulating nitrate recirculation flow according to nitrate concentration at the end of anoxic zone. Based on the experiments results, a knowledge-based approach for supervision of the nitrogen removal problems was considered, and decision trees for diagnosing nitrification and denitrification problems were built and successfully applied to A/O process.展开更多
Effect of added carbon source and nitrate concentration on the denitrifying phosphorus removal by DPB sludge was systematically studied using batch experiments, at the same time the variation of ORP was investigated. ...Effect of added carbon source and nitrate concentration on the denitrifying phosphorus removal by DPB sludge was systematically studied using batch experiments, at the same time the variation of ORP was investigated. Results showed that the denitrifying and phosphorus uptake rate in anoxic phase increased with the high initial anaerobic carbon source addition. However once the initial COD concentration reached a certain level, which was in excess to the PHB saturation of poly-P bacteria, residual COD carried over to anoxic phase inhibited the subsequent denitrifying phosphorus uptake. Simultaneously, phosphate uptake continued until all nitrate was removed, following a slow endogenous release of phosphate. High nitrate concentration in anoxic phase increased the initial denitrifying phosphorus rate. Once the nitrate was exhausted, phosphate uptake changed to release. Moreover, the time of this turning point occurred later with the higher nitrate addition. On the other hand, through on-line monitoring the variation of the ORP with different initial COD concentration, it was found ORP could be used as a control parameter for phosphorus release, but it is impossible to utilize ORP for controlling the denitrificaion and anoxic phosphorus uptake operations.展开更多

Results indicated that the...On the basis of continuous tests and batch tests, conversion regular patterns of acetate, propionate and butyrate in activated sludge at different heights of the UASB reactor were conducted. Results indicated that the conversion capacity of the microbe is decided by the substrate characteristic when sole VFA is used as the only substrate. But when mixed substrates are used,the conversion regulations would have changed accordingly. Relationships of different substrates vary according to their locations. In the whole reactor, propionate's conversion is restrained by acetate and butyrate of high concentration. On the top and at the bottom of the reactor, conversion of acetate, but butyrate, is restrained by propionate. And in the midst, acetate's conversion is accelerated by propionate while that of butyrate is restrained. It is proved, based on the analysis of specific conversion rate, that the space distribution of the microbe is the main factor that affects substrates' conversion. The ethanol type fermentation of the acidogenic phase is the optimal acid type fermentation for the two phase anaerobic process.展开更多

The hardness, bonding strength, abrasive wear and values of porosity and oxidation resistance of the coating were investigated. The microstructures and function of Cr3C2 of the coating were analyzed. The results showed surface Rockness Hardness HR30 reached 72.5 and average bond strength reached 49.1Mpa. Also porosity value was less than 2%. In addition, it was found from the comparison between the coating and 45CT coating that, oxidation resistance of the coating was less than that of 45CT, but the abrasive wear of the coating was obvious better than that of 45CT.展开更多

Light pipe is one of the effective way to reduce electricity consumption for lighting, it can transmit light from outdoor to the room without generating excessive heat. Experimental apparatus of side lighting light pipe is described in this paper. Light pipe for side daylighting purpose was installed in the Key Laboratory of Enhanced Heat Transfer and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Education, Beijing University of Technology. It was 2.6m long, with diameters of 360mm.The performance of the light pipe for whole day had been measured. The highest iUuminance was 488lux on Dec.26,2002, obtained from the point beneath the center of the diffuser of the light pipe 1450mm. The ratio of internal illuminance to external was 0.23 %. Because it has many advantages to improve energy efficiency in buildings, light pipe will be populanzed in the near future in China.展开更多

The type of diabetes mellitus induced by parenteral STZ administration in rats was insulin-dependent (type I). The samples were excised and studied in vitro using a self-developed biomaterial test machine.RESULTS: The body mass was decreased after 4 d with STZ treatment. The length of esophagus shortened after 4, 7,14 d. The opening angle increased after 14 d. The shear,longitudinal and circumferential stiffness were obviously raised after 28 d of STZ treatment.CONCLUSION: The changes of passive biomechanical properties reflect intra-structural alteration of tissue to a certain extent. This alteration will lead to some dysfunction of movement. For example, tension of esophageal wall will change due to some obstructive disease.展开更多

The control strategy aimed to adjust the flow r...The control strategy and simulation of external carbon addition were specially studied in an anoxic-oxic(A/O) process with low carbon: nitrogen(C/N) domestic wastewater. The control strategy aimed to adjust the flow rate of external carbon dosage to the anoxic zone, thus the concentration of nitrate plus nitrite(NOx--N) in the anoxic zone was kept closed to the set point. The relationship was studied between the NOx--N concentration in the anoxic zone(S_ NO) and the dosage of external carbon, and the results showed that the removal efficiency of the total nitrogen(TN) could not be largely improved by double dosage of carbon source when S_ NO reached about 2 mg/L. Through keeping S_ NO at the level of about 2 mg/L, the demand of effluent quality could be met and the carbon dosage could be optimized. Based on the Activated Sludge Model No.1(ASM No.1), a simplified mathematical model of external carbon dosage was developed. Simulation results showed that PI controller and feed-forward PI controller both had good dynamic response and steady precision. And feed-forward PI controller had better control effects due to its consideration of influent disturbances.展开更多

In this paper, a novel counting wavelength demodula- tion scheme of FBG sensors using a high birefringent fiber (HBF) loop mirror is reported. This demodulator has simple structure, high precision, cheap price and convenient use. The resolution of the loop mirror device with a HBF of 30 meters long is 0.067 nm. For a center wavelength of FBG of about 1550 nm and a 40 nm shift range of its reflection wavelength, the relative error of measurement is only ± 0.001. This wavelength demodulation device has significance for widespread application of FBG sensors.展开更多

Digital image-processing method was utilized to determine the angle of collagen fiber in parenchyma according to the changes of area analyzed and further to investigate quantitatively the distribution of collagen fiber. A series of intestinal slice′s images preprocessed by polarized light were obtained with electron microscope,and they were processed to unify each pixel. The approximate angles between collagen fibers were obtained via analyzing the images and their corresponding polarized light. The relationship between the angles of collagen fiber and the pressure it undergoes were statistically summarized.RESULTS: The angle of collagen fiber in intestinal tissue was obtained with the quantitative analyzing method of calculating the ratio of different pixels. For the same slice,with polarized light angle′s variation, the corresponding ratio of different pixels was also changed; for slices under different pressures, the biggest ratio of collagen fiber area was changed either.CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the application of stress on the intestinal tissue will change the angle and content of collagen fiber. The method of calculating ratios of different pixel values to estimate collagen fiber angle was practical and reliable. The quantitative analysis used in the present study allows a larger area of soft tissue to be analyzed with relatively low cost and simple equipment.展开更多

And then, power device of the static leg becomes azero-current-switch (ZCS), power device of the shifted leg becomes a zero-voltage-switch(ZVS). Thus,on one hand IGBT (Insulated gate bipolar transistor) with tail current can be easily used infull-bridge soft-switching converter; on the other hand additional circuiting energy is greatlyreduced. At the same time, less duty cycle loss, lower secondary parasitic resonance, widersoft-switching load range can be achieved. Based on the existing component models in the Pspicesoftware package, a combined model of IGBT is established, in which a non-linear capacitor isintroduced to replace the parasitic capacitor. Using this model, computerized simulation isconducted for the FB-ZVZCS-PWM soft-switching converter, the switching and energy-transferringcharacteristics of the power device are analyzed. Finally, based on the achievement above, a 10 kWarc welding inverter with FB-ZVZCS-PWM converter is developed. The simulation results are testifiedby experiments. It is proved that by adopting appropriate models, computerized simulation is aneffective and useful tool for the development of the arc welding inverter.展开更多

Microstructure and mechanical properties of the steel were evaluated by using optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, dilatometry and tensometry. Those measurements suggested that the steel consisted of martensite and retained austenite, which existed between the martensitic laths in a stable thin film, and that the steel showed very high tensile strength of 1400 MPa and good ductility of 15% in elongation after 300°C tempering.展开更多

The relationship was studied between the NOx--N concentration in the anoxic zone(S_ NO) and the dosage of external carbon, and the results showed that the removal efficiency of the total nitrogen(TN) could not be largely improved by double dosage of carbon source when S_ NO reached about 2 mg/L. Through keeping S_ NO at the level of about 2 mg/L, the demand of effluent quality could be met and the carbon dosage could be optimized. Based on the Activated Sludge Model No.1(ASM No.1), a simplified mathematical model of external carbon dosage was developed. Simulation results showed that PI controller and feed-forward PI controller both had good dynamic response and steady precision. And feed-forward PI controller had better control effects due to its consideration of influent disturbances.
文摘Measuring amplitude of signal is the usual method in wavelength demodulation of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors recently. This method is easy to be disturbed and has low precision. In this paper, a novel counting wavelength demodula- tion scheme of FBG sensors using a high birefringent fiber (HBF) loop mirror is reported. This demodulator has simple structure, high precision, cheap price and convenient use. The resolution of the loop mirror device with a HBF of 30 meters long is 0.067 nm. For a center wavelength of FBG of about 1550 nm and a 40 nm shift range of its reflection wavelength, the relative error of measurement is only ± 0.001. This wavelength demodulation device has significance for widespread application of FBG sensors.

文摘The paper describes a texture-based fast text location scheme which operates directly in the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) domain. By the distinguishing texture characteristics encoded in wavelet transform domain, the text is fast detected from complex background images stored in the compressed format such as JPEG2000 without full decompress. Compared with some traditional character location methods, the proposed scheme has the advantages of low computational cost, robust to size and font of characters and high accuracy. Preliminary experimental results show that the proposed scheme is efficient and effective.
文摘AIM: To propose a simple and effective method suitable for analyzing the angle and distribution of 2-dimensional collagen fiber in larger sample of small intestine and to investigate the relationship between the angles of collagen fiber and the pressure it undergoes.METHODS: A kind of 2-dimensional visible quantitative analyzing technique was described. Digital image-processing method was utilized to determine the angle of collagen fiber in parenchyma according to the changes of area analyzed and further to investigate quantitatively the distribution of collagen fiber. A series of intestinal slice′s images preprocessed by polarized light were obtained with electron microscope,and they were processed to unify each pixel. The approximate angles between collagen fibers were obtained via analyzing the images and their corresponding polarized light. The relationship between the angles of collagen fiber and the pressure it undergoes were statistically summarized.RESULTS: The angle of collagen fiber in intestinal tissue was obtained with the quantitative analyzing method of calculating the ratio of different pixels. For the same slice,with polarized light angle′s variation, the corresponding ratio of different pixels was also changed; for slices under different pressures, the biggest ratio of collagen fiber area was changed either.CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the application of stress on the intestinal tissue will change the angle and content of collagen fiber. The method of calculating ratios of different pixel values to estimate collagen fiber angle was practical and reliable. The quantitative analysis used in the present study allows a larger area of soft tissue to be analyzed with relatively low cost and simple equipment.

文摘A high-speed photographic method is mainly used to analyze metal transfer ofa cellulose covered electrode in the vertical down welding. The experimental results show that finedroplets spraying transfer and globular transfer are the dominant transfer characteristic. The largedroplet spatter, especially the upwards spatter, is a particular phenomenon. It is found that thecombination action of gas blow force, surface tension, gravitational force and electromagnetic forcelead to globular transfer. Gravitational force and electromagnetic force, which hasten big dropletspatter, should not be neglected.

文摘The FB-ZVZCS-PWM converter is realized by the way of subjoiningblock-capacitor into the FB-ZVS-PWM converter. At the freewheeling interval, the primary current isattenuated fast to zero and maintained. And then, power device of the static leg becomes azero-current-switch (ZCS), power device of the shifted leg becomes a zero-voltage-switch(ZVS). Thus,on one hand IGBT (Insulated gate bipolar transistor) with tail current can be easily used infull-bridge soft-switching converter; on the other hand additional circuiting energy is greatlyreduced. At the same time, less duty cycle loss, lower secondary parasitic resonance, widersoft-switching load range can be achieved. Based on the existing component models in the Pspicesoftware package, a combined model of IGBT is established, in which a non-linear capacitor isintroduced to replace the parasitic capacitor. Using this model, computerized simulation isconducted for the FB-ZVZCS-PWM soft-switching converter, the switching and energy-transferringcharacteristics of the power device are analyzed. Finally, based on the achievement above, a 10 kWarc welding inverter with FB-ZVZCS-PWM converter is developed. The simulation results are testifiedby experiments. It is proved that by adopting appropriate models, computerized simulation is aneffective and useful tool for the development of the arc welding inverter.
文摘A martensitic microalloyed steel, 25Si2MnCrMo, was developed to meet the demands of the high-strength bars. Microstructure and mechanical properties of the steel were evaluated by using optical metallography, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, dilatometry and tensometry. Those measurements suggested that the steel consisted of martensite and retained austenite, which existed between the martensitic laths in a stable thin film, and that the steel showed very high tensile strength of 1400 MPa and good ductility of 15% in elongation after 300°C tempering.
