Methods: The asthma guinea pig model was established wit...Objective: To explore the effects and the mechanism of Wuwei Dilong Decoction (五味地龙汤 Schisandra Fruit and Earthworm Decoction) for treatment of asthma. Methods: The asthma guinea pig model was established with spray of ovalbumin (OVA). Fifteen days later, the guinea pigs were administered by intra-gastric perfusion of Wuwei Dilong Decoction once a day for 8 consecutive days. Blood samples were taken for testing the total leucocytes, eosinophil (EOS), lymphocytes, interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and leukotriene B4 (LTB4). Results: In the asthma model group, the total leucocytes, EOS and lymphocytes were all increased, with significant differences as compared with the different dosage Wuwei Dilong Decoction groups (P〈0.01 or P〈0.05). The serum LTB4 in the asthma model group was significantly increased and IFN-γ decreased. After administration of Wuwei Dilong Decoction of the large, medium and small dosages, LTB4 decreased, while IFN-7 increased (P〈0.05 or P〈0.01). Conclusion: Wuwei Dilong Decoction can inhibit infiltration and diffusion of the inflammatory cells in the asthma model guinea pigs, and regulate LTB4 and IFN-γ, which is probably one of the important mechanisms of Wuwei Dilong Decoction for relieving asthma.展开更多
To explore the effectiveness and safety of a Chinese medicinal decoction Wuwei Xiaodu Drink(WWXDD)in inhibiting chronic osteomyelitis via regulatory T cells signaling.The effective constitutes of WWXDD and osteomyelit...To explore the effectiveness and safety of a Chinese medicinal decoction Wuwei Xiaodu Drink(WWXDD)in inhibiting chronic osteomyelitis via regulatory T cells signaling.The effective constitutes of WWXDD and osteomyelitis related genes were screened.Target proteins were cross-validated using the Venny database.GO function and KEGG pathway analysis were performed for target proteins,while pharmacological network was constructed.The bone properties were analyzed by HE staining and the concentrations of immune factors were measured by ELISA.The expression of CTLA-4 and Foxp3 mRNA and STAT5,p-STAT5,CTLA-4 and Foxp3 protein were detected using Real-time PCR and Western blot,respectively.FACS was used to analyze the percentages of cells.A total of 117 genes overlapped between 785 target genes of the active compounds of WWXDD and 912 osteomyelitis related genes.Inflammation-related genes,including IL-6,TNFα,IL-1βand IL-2 showed high connection degree in the drug-compound-disease-target network.GO function and KEGG pathway analysis revealed that 117 intersection genes mainly enriched in virus infection related pathways,immune related pathways and chemokine signaling pathway.Furthermore,the development of chronic osteomyelitis was suppressed in model rats after treatment with WWXDD.Meanwhile,the concentrations of IL-2 and CD4^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3 Treg perr centages together with the levels of p-STAT5,CTLA-4 and Foxp3 were also down-regulated.Furthermore,IL-2 and WWXDD drug-containing serum exhibited opposite effects on regulating IL-2,IL-10,TGF-β1,Foxp3,CTLA4 and STAT5.In addition,a STAT5 phosphorylation inhibitor suppressed the expression of Foxp3 and CTLA-4.WWXDD can treat chronic osteomyelitis through suppressing the main regulating factors of Tregs and interfere its immunodepression.Our results bring a new solution for chronic osteomyelitis.展开更多
Based on data of questionnaire and field survey and two developing models of Business As Usual (BAU) and the Intensive Urbanization (IU), this article, taking Wuwei City, a medium size city and typical oasis arid area...Based on data of questionnaire and field survey and two developing models of Business As Usual (BAU) and the Intensive Urbanization (IU), this article, taking Wuwei City, a medium size city and typical oasis arid area in Gansu Province with very vulnerable and sensitive natural environment but long history of oasis economy, as an example, evaluated the sustainability of its environment and analyzed the scenarios of Wuwei’s household energy consumption, waste discharge in transportation industry, primary industry, secondary industry, tertiary industry, by the integration of the systematical dynamics model Stella and Polestar language to simulate the future development of the research area. The results showed that, first, the developing model of IU was propitious to Wuwei City named for oasis economy and vulnerable natural environment. The strategy of "Intensive Urbanization" can change the structure of energy utilization, and improve the efficiency of energy utilization. Second, the proportion of domestic energy consumption will decrease with industrialization and economic development, while that of tertiary industry, secondary industry and transportation will gradually grow up according to strategy of "Intensive Urbanization". Third, the Wuwei City is facing a severe eco-environmental crisis under the conventional patterns of development and a better future under a sustainable urbanization scenario, in the next 10 to 20 years. The different developing trends were clarified and the relative countermeasures were put forward for the policy makers according to the driving forces.展开更多
The Wuwei Basin is one of the most important oil-and gas-bearing basins in the Meso-Cenozoic basin groups in the Lower Yangtze River region.It has great shale gas resource prospects.The formation mechanism of this bas...The Wuwei Basin is one of the most important oil-and gas-bearing basins in the Meso-Cenozoic basin groups in the Lower Yangtze River region.It has great shale gas resource prospects.The formation mechanism of this basin is poorly studied for lack of constraining data for deep structures.In this paper,a crustal electrical structure model of the Wuwei Basin and the adjacent areas is constructed based on the two-dimensional inversion of a magnetotelluric(MT)sounding profile achieved with the nonlinear conjugate gradient method.The results show that large-scale low-resistance bodies have developed in the underlying middle and lower crust of the Wuwei Basin,and are different from the uplifts on the two sides according to their high-resistance electrical characteristics.The electrical structure and regional geological and geophysical data suggest that the peak zone of the Chuzhou-Chaohu foreland fold-and-thrust belt is located on the east bank of the Yangtze River(Wuhu Section),which,together with the main thrust fault belt in the east,forms a typical thrust structure belt.An early Yanshanian sinistral strike-slip fault developed in the deep part of the Wuwei Basin,which may have controlled the formation and evolution of the basin,whereas the tectonic inversion of the early-developed thrust faults is relatively weak.These findings provide a geophysical basis for future studies of basin tectonic evolution and regional tectonic frameworks.展开更多

[Objectives]To observe the effects of Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction on uterine energy metabolism and serum inflammatory factors in the acute pelvic inflammatory disease(APID)model.[Methods]75 Wistar rats(females)were randoml...[Objectives]To observe the effects of Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction on uterine energy metabolism and serum inflammatory factors in the acute pelvic inflammatory disease(APID)model.[Methods]75 Wistar rats(females)were randomly divided into control group,model group and Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction low,medium and high dose groups(n=15).Except for the control group,the rat APID model was established by right uterine inoculation.On the fifth day after inoculation,the low,medium and high dose groups of Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction were administered at 4,8 and 16 g/kg,and the control group and model group received normal saline.Rats were killed 12 h after nondose administration,blood was collected from the abdominal aorta and measured by ELISA for serum interleukin-6(interleukin-6,IL-6),IL-8,and C-reactive proteins(CRP);the right uterus of rats was tested for high-energy phosphate adenosine phosphate(AMP),adenosine diphosphate(ADP),adenosine triphosphate(ATP)and total adenine nucleotides(TAN)level to evaluate the uterine energy metabolism.[Results]AMP,ADP,ATP and TAN were significantly higher in the Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction of low,medium and high dose than the model group,while the serum IL-6,IL-8 and CRP were significantly lower than the model group,and the difference between the low,medium and high doses(P<0.05).[Conclusions]The Wuwei Xiaodu Decoction can dose-dependent promote uterine energy metabolism and inhibit inflammatory response in APID model rats.展开更多
