T he process of project management and its functions are presented. Product design process coordination is also discussed. First, based on the analysis of traditi onal project management, project management and coordination of distributed coop erative product design in the virtual enterprise is put forward. Then, aiming at the characteristics of a distributed concurrent product design process, the inh erent rules and complex interrelations in product development are studied. Accor dingly, the architecture of project management of distributed cooperative produc t design in a virtual enterprise is presented to adapt to distributed concurrent development of complex products. The main advantages of the architecture are al so discussed. Finally, the emphasis is placed on the project management process. Its main functions are set forth, such as project definition, task decompositio n and distribution, resource constraints and dynamic resource scheduling, proces s fusion, task scheduling and monitoring, project plan, cost and quality evaluat ion, etc.展开更多

The popularity of the application of modern information technology in the field of education is very high. College students can obtain the knowledge and content they need from the network. Teachers are no longer the only source of information for students, which promotes the improvement of students academic performance and cultivates students autonomous learning ability. As a university teacher, the author discusses how to motivate college students autonomous learning in the process of virtual project-based practical teaching, hoping that this paper can provide a certain direction for the future development of university education and guide college students to cultivate their autonomous learning ability.展开更多

We shall also compare the computational cost of the proposed reconstruction algorithm with the existing one which has position-dependent weight. To accomplish the objective listed above, we first formulate admissibility conditions on deformations that is required to exactly reconstruct the object from acquired sequential deformed projections and then derive the reconstruction algorithm to compensate the above listed deformations satisfying the admissibility conditions. For this, 2-D time-dependent deformation model is incorporated in the fan-beam FBP reconstruction algorithm with no backprojection weight, assuming the motion parameters being known. Finally the proposed reconstruction algorithm is evaluated with the motion corrupted projection data simulated on the computer.展开更多

The website prepares, assists and supports the learners through their Mechanical Engineering Projects in an accredited academic programme. The research question answered was "Is the VLE website helpful to learners in the final years of mechanical engineering projects?" The research focuses on the learners' experiences of using the project website and explores their views regarding the website. The literature relating to the study indicates that similar programmes have had positive results in relation to the adoption of VLEs to support learners. The data collection process involved an initial questionnaire about the website for the quantitative analysis. Thirty-nine project learners from the third and fourth years of the Mechanical Engineering programme participated in the questionnaires. The analysis of the questionnaire results indicated that the project website VLE was very helpful to learners completing their Mechanical Engineering projects. They all used the website for different aspects of the project but they still wanted a lecturer or lecturers to consult with for problems during the course of the project. The kinesthetic learning achieved in the project modules cannot be replicated or replaced by any virtual learning environment. The website afforded the learner to be better prepared for the project start in September. It gives the learner another resource to refer to when they were working at home, during the holidays or when they come to a particular part of the project. The website also teaches the learner to use the internet, videos, screencasts, tutorials, etc. to help them to complete the project. The website has enhanced student learning, motivation, earlier starts to project, peer learning and has improved the quality of projects.展开更多
