Thirty age- and sex-matched healthy individuals served as controls. Serum leptin levels were determined by ELISA. The biochemical liver function and serum lipids were determined at the same time. The height and body weight of patients and controls were measured, and body mass index (BMI) and body fat were calculated simultaneously. The correlations of serum leptin levels with anthropometric and metabolic parameters and biochemical liver function were assessed statistically.RESULTS: The mean of serum leptin levels in patients with chronic hepatitis C, HCV-associated cirrhosis, HCVassociated HCC and control groups was (6.13±3.94),(5.25±4.21), (4.17±0.28), and (3.59±3.44) ng/mL, respectively. The serum leptin level in patients with chronic hepatitis C was significantly higher than that in controls. The serum leptin levels between cirrhotic patients and controls and between male and female cirrhotic patients had no significant difference. Serum leptin levels were positively-correlated with body fat, BMI, and apolipoprotein B (Apo B) in patients with chronic HCV infection. The serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels were closelycorrelated with BMI in patients with chronic hepatitis C. CONCLUSION: HCV infection interferes with fat and lipid metabolism in patients with chronic HCV infection and leptin may play a role in hepatosteatosis.展开更多

The results showed that progressive changes in molecular maturity parameters are associated with major changes in thermal evolution of related biomarkers. Increases in the C29ββ/(ββ+αα) and C2920S/(20S+20R) ratios result from the difference in the relative rate between generation and thermal degradation of isomers involved. The samples from a hyper-saline environment below 3.5 km in which evaporitic rocks deposited shows high response of Sr/Ba, Sr/Ca, Fe/ Mn, Pr/n-C17, Ph/n-C18 and gammacerane and low response of Pr/Ph. There presents negative reversal of biomarker maturity C29ββ/(ββ+αα, C29ββ/(ββ+αα) and Ts/(Ts+Ym) in the samples from hypersaline environment, reflecting that the gypsum- halite have negative effect on the isomerization of biomarker and thermal evolution of organic matter. The minerals in evaporites also retard the conventional thermal indicators including vitrinite reflectance (Ro) and pyrolysis peak temperature Tmax at the depth below 3.4 km (i.e. 〉3.4 km), and these parameters also show the inhibition from overpressure in the range of 2.4-3.4 kin. This result will be helpful in the interpretation and application of molecular maturity parameters for similar saline lacustrine basins.展开更多

The barrier heights and ideality factors of Schottky contact are found in the range 0.35 eV (I-V), 0.73 eV (C-V) at 160 K and 0.63 eV (I-V), 0.61 eV (C-V) at 400 K, respectively. It is observed that the zero-bias barrier height decreases and ideality factor n increase with a decrease in temperature, this behaviour is attributed to barrier inhomogeneities by assuming Gaussian distribution at the interface. The calculated value of series resistance (Rs) from the forward I-V characteristics is decreased with an increase in temperature. The homogeneous barrier height value of approximately 0.71 eV for the Pd/Ti Schottky diode has been obtained from the linear relationship between the temperature-dependent experimentally effective barrier heights and ideality factors. The zero-bias barrier height ( ) versus 1/2kT plot has been drawn to obtain evidence of a Gaussian distribution of the barrier heights and values of = 0.80 eV and = 114 mV for the mean barrier height and standard deviation have been obtained from the plot, respectively. The modified Richardson ln(I0/T2)- ( ) versus 1000/T plot has a good linearity over the investigated temperature range and gives the mean barrier height ( ) and Richardson constant (A*) values as 0.796 eV and 6.16 Acm-2K-2 respectively. The discrepancy between Schottky barrier heights obtained from I-V and C-V measurements is also interpreted.展开更多

The modified Richardson ln(I0/T2)- ( ) versus 1000/T plot has a good linearity over the investigated temperature range and gives the mean barrier height ( ) and Richardson constant (A*) values as 0.796 eV and 6.16 Acm-2K-2 respectively. The discrepancy between Schottky barrier heights obtained from I-V and C-V measurements is also interpreted.
文摘BACKGROUND Liver imaging and transient elastography(TE)are both tools used to assess liver fibrosis and steatosis among people with hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection. However, the diagnostic accuracy of conventional imaging in detecting fibrosis and steatosis in this patient population remains unclear.AIM To investigate the correlation between steatosis and fibrosis and abnormal findings on liver imaging in patients with HCV.METHODS We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of patients with HCV at Grady Liver Clinic who had TE exams between 2018-2019.We analyzed the correlation of controlled attenuation parameter and liver stiffness measurement on TE and abnormal findings on liver imaging.Liver imaging findings(hepatic steatosis, increased echogenicity, cirrhosis, and chronic liver disease)were further evaluated for their diagnostic performance in detecting fibrosis(≥F2,≥F3,≥F4)and steatosis(≥S1,≥S2,≥S3).RESULTS Of 959 HCV patients who underwent TE,651 had liver imaging.Higher controlled attenuation parameter scores were observed in patients with abnormal liver findings(P=0.0050),hepatic steatosis(P<0.0001),and increased echogenicity(P<0.0001).Higher liver stiffness measurement values were also noted in those with abnormal liver(P<0.0001)and increased echogenicity(P=0.0026).Steatosis severity correlated with hepatic steatosis(r=0.195,P<0.001)and increased echogenicity(r=0.209,P<0.001).For fibrosis detection, abnormal liver imaging had moderate sensitivity(81.7%)and specificity(70.4%)for cirrhosis(≥F4),while cirrhosis on imaging had high specificity(99.2%)but low sensitivity(18.3%).Increased echogenicity showed high specificity(92.8%)but low sensitivity(20.9%)for steatosis detection.CONCLUSION Liver imaging detects advanced fibrosis and steatosis but lacks early-stage sensitivity.Integrating TE with imaging may improve evaluation in patients with HCV.
