The aim of the present study was to establish a simple, rapid, and sensitive RP-HPLC method for determination of bergenin in rat plasma and compare its oral pharmacokinetic behaviors in normal and CCl_4-induced hepatic injury rats. With norisoboldine as an internal standard, chromatographic separation was performed on a C_(18) analytical column with acetonitrile and water(11 : 89, V/V) containing 0.1% formic acid as the mobile phase. A good linearity was obtained over the range of 100^(–1)0 000 ng·m L^(–1). The lower limit of quantification was 50 ng·m L~(^(–1)). The developed method was successfully applied to a study of the pharmacokinetic difference of bergenin(100 mg·kg^(–1)) between normal and hepatic injury rats after oral administration. Marked alterations of pharmacokinetic parameters in hepatic injury rats were observed. Compared to normal rats, the AUC_((0–∞)) of bergenin in hepatic injury rats was elevated to 2.11-fold and C_(max) was increased by 130%, whereas CL value was only 55% of the normal rats, suggesting that the systemic exposure of bergenin was significantly increased under hepatic injury status.展开更多

A new acetate derivative of compound 1, termed 2S, 3R-4E, 8E-2-(heptadecanoylamino)-heptadeca-4, 8-diene-1, 3-diacetate(1a), was also prepared in the present study. All the structures were established on the basis of modern spectroscopic techniques, including FT-IR, 1D, 2D-NMR, HRESI-MS, and GC-MS, in addition of chemical methods.(-)-Alloaromadendren, ledane,(1)-alloaromadendren oxide, isoaromadendrene epoxide and(-)-caryophellen oxide were identified from the n-hexane fraction using GC-MS. The extract and the two ceramides(1) and(1a) exhibited significant cytotoxic activity against lung cancer A549 cells, while the extract and the two steroids(2) and(3) exhibited significant cytotoxic activity against breast cancer MCF-7 cells. The CH_2Cl_2/MeOH extract exhibited significant antiulcer activity in both ethanol and acetic acid induced ulcer models in rats, as evidenced by histopathological, histochemical, and biochemical examinations.展开更多

The effect of hydrogel amendment to the upper sand soil layer on water infiltration into the lower un-amended sand layer, irrigation frequency, water use efficiency and biomass production of Agrostis stolonifera was investigated. The upper 25 cm sand layer in three identical buckets was amended at 0.4%, 0.2% and a control (no hydrogel) while the lower 25 cm sand layer separated from the upper layer by a wire mesh in the same buckets was un-amended. Agrostis stolonifera seeds were sown in each bucket and adequately irrigated using a hand sprayer. Potential meter electrodes were inserted at three random positions in each of the buckets and subsequent irrigations were done when a pressure of 600 bars was recorded in any of the three treatments. Data were collected on irrigation frequency, water content in the lower layer, water use efficiency and biomass production of Agrostis stolonifera. The mean water potential in the lower 25 cm layer un-amended sand was significantly more negative in the 0.4% hydrogel than in the control. More water content (10%) was recorded in the lower layer under the control bucket than in either the 0.2% and 0.4% hydrogel amended buckets. The frequency of irrigation was three-fold in the control compared to the 0.4% hydrogel amended sand. The hydrogel amended sand significantly increased the shoot and root biomass of Agrostis stolonifera by 2.2 and 4 times respectively compared to the control. The 0.4% hydrogel amendment in sand increased the water use efficiency of grass eight fold with respect to the control. The hydrogel stimulated development of a dense root network and root aggregation that increased contact of the roots with moisture thus improving water use efficiency of hydrogel amended soil. The results suggest that hydrogels can improve sandy soil properties for plant growth by absorbing and keeping water longer in the soil matrix thus reducing watering frequency.展开更多

[Method] Total 3 creeping bentgrass varieties (lines) were se- lected as materials, and their physiological characteristics were determined and ana- lyzed, including leaf relative water content, relative plasma membrane permeability, peroxidase activity, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, catalase activity, proline content and malondialdehyde (MDA) content. [Result] Under the traffic stress, the leaf relative water content, relative plasma membrane permeability, MDA content, proline content and protection enzymes activities showed significant differences among different traffic intensities and tested varieties (P〈0.05). The variations of various physiological indexes of Yuexuan 1 were smallest, and it showed relatively strong traffic tolerance. [Conclusion] Considering the traffic tolerance, the 3 tested creeping bentgrass varieties ranked as Yuexuan 1〉New Strain No.2〉Penncross.展开更多

During the period of ten-year cxperiment a complete and systematic study on its botanical features, biological charcteristics, growth rhythm and propagation tcchniques was carried out on basis of the comparison withthe native species Corms alba. The research results showed thatCornus stolonifera has many advantages over Cornus alba in those such as fast growing, cold endurance, drought resistance, easy propagation.disease and pest-resistance, beautiful tree form, bright colour branches, long florcscence, persistant fruits and intcgrate visual cffects. Practice has proved that it is reslly a fine species for tree-planting. Not only does it have the function of water conservation, but also its branches can be uscd as a fine wcaving matcrial. Up to the present, about ten thousand plant stocks have bcen planted by more than 30 units in l l cities of 6 provinces and it has been well recicved by people.展开更多
