Quantification of the Kinetics of Soil Selenium Diffusive Gradients in Thin-Films Process under Long-Term Moisture Changes

The effects of long-term moisture changes on the migration,release,and bioavailability of selenium in soil are complex.Due to the lack of effective monitoring methods for precise quantification,its dynamic behavior is still unclear.Based on the DGT(Diffusive Gradients in Thin-films)technology,this study sets up three moisture control scenarios:continuous wet,wet-dry alternating,and continuous dry,and carries out a 6-month soil moisture control experiment.In the experiment,the DGT device collected the diffusion gradient data of soil selenium under different scenarios,and analyzed the migration characteristics of selenium in combination with the adsorption isotherm.Meanwhile,the release rate,migration coefficient,and bioavailability parameters of selenium are calculated by fitting the first-order kinetic model,further verifying the reliability and applicability of the DGT data.The experimental results demonstrate that under continuous wet conditions,the release rate of soil selenium reaches 1.85µg·cm^(-2)·h^(-1),with a migration coefficient of 0.012 cm^(2)·h^(-1)and a bioavailability parameter of 0.74;under wet-dry alternating conditions,they are 1.42µg·cm^(-2)·h^(-1),0.01 cm^(2)·h^(-1),and 0.68,respectively;under continuous dry conditions,the release rate of soil selenium is the smallest,at 0.88µg·cm^(-2)·h^(-1),with a migration coefficient of 0.004 cm^(-2)·h^(-1)and a bioavailability parameter of 0.5.The results of this experiment reveal the dynamic behavior of soil selenium under different moisture conditions and reflect the high efficiency of DGT technology in dynamic monitoring and quantitative analysis of soil selenium behavior,providing a scientific basis for the optimal management of rhizosphere soil selenium. 展开更多

Xuzhou City is an important base for coal production and coal-fired power. To evaluate selenium contamination in this area, we sampled agricultural soil, soil profile, irrigation water, bedrock, coal, fly ash, paddy rice, and vegetables from the north of Xuzhou City, and determined their selenium contents. The background level of selenium in the soil profile was 0.08 mg/kg. The selenium concentrations in agricultural soils and irrigation water were in the range of 0.21-4.08 mg/kg and 0.002-0.29 mg/L, respectively. Soils with high selenium content were located closely to coalmines and power plants. The average selenium concentrations in coal and coal fly ash were 5.46 and 2.81 mg/kg, respectively. In contrast, the concentrations of selenium in bedrock and in the soil profile were very low. These results imply that the high selenium level in agricultural soils is mainly caused by anthropogenic activities, rather than by parent material. The arithmetic mean of selenium concentration in paddy rice was 0.116 mg/kg, and in cabbage was 0.05 mg/kg. The selenium concentration in rice was positively correlated with total selenium concentration in soil, suggesting that selenium in soil is readily transferred into the crops. Furthermore, the estimated dietary intake (88.8 μg) of selenium from paddy rice and cabbage exceeds the recommended dietary allowance (55 μg). Therefore, there is a potential health risk from consumption of local staple food in the study area. 展开更多

The dilution spread plate method and selenium-added culture method were used to screen the selenium-tolerant strains from the soils which were sampled from the main Selenium-rich areas such as Yongfu,Bama,Yulin Hanshan,Guiping and Tengxian. The results showed that 8 strains with high selenium tolerance were obtained,which could tolerate the selenium concentration above 10 000 μg/m L in solid medium. Among the 8 strains,YLB1-33 showed the highest selenium tolerance,and it could still grow weakly in the solid medium with selenium concentration of 29 000 μg/m L. The sequencing of 16 S rD NA and phylogenetic analysis showed that YLB1-6 was identified as Bacillus cereus,BMB2-1 and TXB1-8 were identified as Bacillus pumilus,GPB2-5 was identified as Bacillus thuringiensis,YLB1-26 and YLB1-33 were identified as Bacillus licheniformis,and YLB1-2 and YFB1-8 were identified as Serratia marcescens. The finding of selenium-tolerance strains had potential application value on promoting the utilization of selenium soil resources and the development of selenium-rich agricultural products in Guangxi. 展开更多

Afterwards,the occurrence forms of selenium in the soil samples were detected by continuous extraction. At last,the bioavailability of selenium in rice was studied by the in vitro gastrointestinal model. The results showed that selenium content in soil was 0. 15-5. 42 mg/kg in Enshi. The proportion of water-soluble selenium in soil was the lowest,ranging from 1. 41% to 3. 80%; the proportion of residual selenium was the highest,reaching 36. 1%-41. 7%. Besides,selenium content in rice was 0. 07-1. 61 mg/kg,and the bioconcentration factor of selenium in rice was 0. 22-0. 48. The bioaccessibility of selenium in rice ranged from 45. 7% to 56. 4% in the stomach and from 58. 4% to68. 5% in the small intestine. In addition,the daily intake of selenium per capita( PDI) in Yutangba,Changping,Shadi,and Taiyanghe was490,26,132 and 57 μg/d,indicating that people in Yutangba had the risk of chronic selenium poisoning,and people's diet was rich in selenium in Shadi and Taiyanghe,while people's diet was deficient in selenium in Changping. 展开更多

【研究目的】徐州市铜山区柳新镇、茅村镇因土壤硒含量较高而备受关注,为此深入查明了富硒地块的分布,探究了土壤硒的来源。【研究方法】在研究区采集表层土壤3067件、土壤垂向剖面3个、大气干沉降样品4个、灌溉水及底泥样品8组、煤矸... 【研究目的】徐州市铜山区柳新镇、茅村镇因土壤硒含量较高而备受关注,为此深入查明了富硒地块的分布,探究了土壤硒的来源。【研究方法】在研究区采集表层土壤3067件、土壤垂向剖面3个、大气干沉降样品4个、灌溉水及底泥样品8组、煤矸石样品4件、粉煤灰样品1件。【研究结果】研究区表层土壤硒含量范围为0.08~15.80 mg/kg,均值为0.57 mg/kg,变异系数为1.14,呈现高度空间变异性。硒元素在土壤表层、大气干沉降、底泥中明显富集,是受到煤炭产业相关的人类活动影响,包括燃煤过程中硒的挥发和飞灰搬运、堆积粉煤灰和煤矸石中硒的淋滤和迁移、采矿洗选废水排放、采煤塌陷区复垦活动等。点状硒含量高值区往往由露天煤矸石堆积、燃煤大气排放造成,面状硒含量高值区的形成主要受到水流搬运的影响,如留武村—大庄村—茅村村—檀山村一带,高硒粉煤灰在径流的作用下沿河流沟渠输送硒元素,通过灌溉进入农田土壤并积累。富硒耕地资源综合评价结果显示,研究区共有富硒耕地面积8145.61 hm^(2),其中优质富硒耕地资源面积占全区耕地总面积的79.39%,预估区域表层土壤硒资源总量为13.34 t,具有较好的开发利用前景。【结论】本研究为区域富硒土壤的应用开发提供了基础数据支撑,应进一步关注农产品硒含量和居民摄入量,通过优化布局、科技赋能、政策支持、品牌建设、融资拓展和资源管理等措施推动产业升级。 展开更多

Selenium profile in blood plasma of grazing sheep: A case study in specific ranch in Punjab, Pakistan

A survey was conducted in Southwestern, Punjab, Pakistan during two different seasons to assess the status of selenium of three different classes of grazing sheep. Blood plasma from lactating, non-lactating and male sheep were collected four times monthly in winter and summer seasons and analyzed for selenium concentration. Seasonal variations were found for plasma selenium concentration. Selenium concentration of plasma was higher in male sheep than those lactating and non lactating ewes during both the seasons as well as it were higher compared to the established critical value for blood plasma selenium for these ruminants. High incidence of deficiencies was found particularly for lactating ewes. These deficiencies in plasma selenium based on critical level were 35% to 15 % for lactating, 28% to 12% for non lactating ewes and 15% to 5% for male animals during winter and summer seasons, respectively. Although some differences among the three classes of sheep were found for selenium concentrations of blood plasma, but dramatic class differences could not be concluded based on this study. It was suggested based on the results obtained, pellets, glass bolus or mixture that contain selenium, should be used for supplementation for grazing sheep in the study area to maintain the plasma Se at optimum required level for the prevention of complication in livestock caused due to deficiency of this element. 展开更多

Distribution of Soil Nutrients in Se-rich Areas of Hainan Island

[Objectives] The aim was to reveal the distribution of soil nutrients in Se-rich area of Hainan and to clarify their specific contents, so as to provide references for the development of Se-rich area agriculture in Hainan.[Methods] With the se-rich area in Hainan as the object, field investigation and indoor analysis were combined to elucidate the nutrient status of cultivated soil in the area and analyze its nutrient distribution.[Results] The soil in the se-rich area in Hainan province was generally acidic with the average soil pH value of 5.0. The difference in soil pH between different landforms and different altitudes was not significant, ranging from 4.9 to 5.3. Soil available P and available K contents were low to intermediate, and the soil available N content was moderate. The farming system, chemical fertilizer application structure and meteorological factors were the main causes of the distribution of soil nutrient elements. The soil exchangeable calcium and magnesium content was rich, and the distribution of trace elements in the arable soil of different terrains and elevations was closely related to the distribution of soil parent material in the region. The increase of soil organic matter content in arable land could be achieved by increasing the application of organic fertilizer and guiding the farmers to enhance the application of straws to fields.[Conclusions] The application of soil N, P and K fertilizers should be combined with the application of soil organic fertilizers to improve the soil fertility of cultivated land. 展开更多

探究山西省小麦种植区土壤硒、锌形态赋存差异,可为当地小麦提质增效生产及功能农业发展提供理论依据。本研究在山西省小麦典型种植区选择高、中、低硒、锌水平样点,测定土壤硒、锌各形态含量、土壤有机质(SOM)、阳离子交换量(CEC)以及... 探究山西省小麦种植区土壤硒、锌形态赋存差异,可为当地小麦提质增效生产及功能农业发展提供理论依据。本研究在山西省小麦典型种植区选择高、中、低硒、锌水平样点,测定土壤硒、锌各形态含量、土壤有机质(SOM)、阳离子交换量(CEC)以及土壤矿物组成,分析不同水平硒、锌的形态赋存差异及其影响因素。结果表明:不同水平土壤硒形态含量均表现为有机结合态(39.1%~53.8%)>残渣态(33.5%~48.9%)>交换态+碳酸盐结合态(5.2%~5.9%)>铁锰氧化物结合态(3.4%~4.5%)>水溶态(1.0%~3.1%),不同水平土壤锌形态含量均表现为残渣态(81.0%~86.3%)>有机结合态(6.5%~8.1%)>铁锰氧化物结合态(6.2%~7.5%)>碳酸盐结合态(0.7%~1.9%)>交换态(0.3%~1.5%)。有机结合态硒和残渣态硒是引起土壤总硒含量差异的主要形态,二者对土壤硒含量差异的贡献率分别达55.2%和32.2%;残渣态锌是引起土壤总锌差异的主要形态,其对土壤锌含量差异的贡献率达77.4%。随总硒含量增加,残渣态硒所占比例明显下降,有机结合态硒比例明显上升;随总锌含量增加,残渣态锌所占比例呈下降趋势,其他形态锌均呈微弱增加趋势。除残渣态硒外,SOM与不同形态硒、锌均呈显著或极显著正相关(r=0.74~0.93),而CEC与硒、锌含量均未达到显著相关性,各形态硒、锌与对应全量硒、锌的相关性最高(r>0.95)。矿物成分分析表明,不同硒水平土壤矿物成分表现为高水平硒土壤中黄铁矿、角闪石、滑石和黏土矿物含量显著高于中水平或低水平硒土壤;不同锌水平土壤矿物成分表现为高水平锌土壤中白云石、黄铁矿、角闪石含量显著高于中水平或低水平锌土壤。山西省小麦种植区土壤不同硒、锌水平条件下其各赋存形态含量差异整体上决定于总量含量差异,土壤矿物成分是硒、锌含量差异的物质基础,有机质是土壤硒、锌形态变化的驱动力。 展开更多

硒是人体必需的微量元素,在抗氧化、抗癌、调节激素等方面具有重要作用,而我国成人膳食硒平均摄入量仅为39.0μg/d,远低于中国营养学会推荐的膳食硒摄入范围60~400μg/d。水稻是我国的主要粮食作物,利用富硒土壤种植富硒大米是解决我国... 硒是人体必需的微量元素,在抗氧化、抗癌、调节激素等方面具有重要作用,而我国成人膳食硒平均摄入量仅为39.0μg/d,远低于中国营养学会推荐的膳食硒摄入范围60~400μg/d。水稻是我国的主要粮食作物,利用富硒土壤种植富硒大米是解决我国居民硒摄入不足的重要手段。然而富硒区土壤镉污染严重,在此环境下生产的富硒大米常出现镉含量超标的现象,这严重危害着中国的粮食安全,阻碍富硒农业的发展。该文综合最新文献研究,首先介绍了硒和镉对人体健康的影响,随后对中国的缺硒和镉污染状况、中国富硒稻米研究以及水稻对硒和镉的吸收研究进行了总结,最后对硒镉互作机制进行了系统性综述,以期为在天然富硒区生产健康、安全、优质的富硒稻米提供科学依据和理论参考。 展开更多

硒(Se)是一种天然存在的类金属元素,缺乏和过量均会对人体造成危害,由于饮食是人体摄入硒的主要来源,了解环境中硒的分布和生物有效性是评估硒相关健康问题的关键。土壤有机质是控制硒生物有效性的重要土壤组分,因此深入了解土壤硒与有... 硒(Se)是一种天然存在的类金属元素,缺乏和过量均会对人体造成危害,由于饮食是人体摄入硒的主要来源,了解环境中硒的分布和生物有效性是评估硒相关健康问题的关键。土壤有机质是控制硒生物有效性的重要土壤组分,因此深入了解土壤硒与有机质的作用机制及其对生物有效性的影响具有重要意义。对土壤硒与有机质的生物和非生物的作用机制进行总结发现:土壤有机质对硒的生物作用与非生物作用过程实际上是相关联的;对于非生物作用机制来说,现有假说并不能完全解释硒与有机质的相互作用,仍需进一步深入研究硒与有机质的作用机制;有机质结合态硒的形成和分解产生源汇效应,在硒的生物有效性中发挥双重作用,维持着土壤中生物有效硒的动态平衡;此外,施用有机肥影响着硒形态的转化及有机质与硒的相互作用进而影响土壤中硒的有效性。但目前依然面临着土壤有机质结合态硒(OM-Se)的表征方法、在微生物介导的过程中土壤有机质对硒形态转化及生物有效性的影响、有机质与硒非生物作用机制、OM-Se对生物有效性增加或降低的影响等难题亟待解决。厘清土壤硒与有机质的作用机制,有助于评估土壤有效硒的含量,丰富硒生物强化的应用,有效避免硒缺乏和硒中毒等问题。 展开更多
