The aim of this study is to identify the effect of relatively constant factors of preparedness phase on environmental disaster management in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. The study used descriptive and analytical approach besides the comprehensive survey depends upon questionnaire for purposive data surveyed all employees in the field of environmental disaster management in Riyadh city including administrations, department, and contains 21 sector including public and private sector for total population of about 397 persons and sample size about 353 persons using statistical tests, frequencies, percentage, average, standard deviation and t test and × square test as well as Likert procedure on which depends on the measurement such as: very high, high, average, weak and very weak. The main results reveal that the constant factors of environmental disaster management are more important for evaluating the preparedness phase. Since the relatively constant factors of environmental disaster management are more important. The study recommends that: 1) Enhancement of the systems and procedures in particular disaster management procedures. 2) It is so necessary to publish a new unit for disaster management in the sectors have not. 3) Increase and encouragement of environmental disaster management studies in particular for preparedness phase because it considers as backbone of disaster management and suggestion of regional and local organizations link generally and in information trade off and the details studies in particular by providing the different types of support and encouragement.展开更多

For many of these appl...TiO2 nanomaterial is promising with its high potential and outstanding performance in photocatalytic environmental applications, such as CO2 conversion, water treatment, and air quality control. For many of these applications, the particle size, crystal structure and phase, porosity, and surface area influence the activity of TiO2 dramatically. TiO2 nanomaterials with special structures and morphologies, such as nanospheres, nanowires, nanotubes, nanorods, and nanoflowers are thus synthesized due to their desired characteristics. With an emphasis on the different morphologies of TiO2 and the influence factors in the synthesis, this review summarizes fourteen TiO2 preparation methods, such as the sol-gel method, solvothermal method, and reverse micelle method. The TiO2 formation mechanisms, the advantages and disadvantages of the preparation methods, and the photocatalytic environmental application examples are proposed as well.展开更多
The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore and gain an understanding of Louisiana homeowners’ perceptions and practices in preparing for hurricanes;contribute to academic research and student learning, while...The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore and gain an understanding of Louisiana homeowners’ perceptions and practices in preparing for hurricanes;contribute to academic research and student learning, while guiding the development of future projects. We focused specifically on how homeowners in Louisiana would protect their important documents and possessions. These documents and possessions include but are not limited to photographs, social security cards, birth certificates, and insurance paperwork. We collected the data throughout the fall semester of 2022 at Louisiana State University (LSU) by conducting a focus group and in-depth interviews. We collected a variety of answers, but most participants expressed a strong need to have their important documents and possessions protected and gave different strategies for how this was carried out, such as digitizing or protective storage. Participants also expressed a strong need for more information to be delivered to residents to talk more about ways they can protect their own documents and possessions. Emphases were also made on the need for: leaders of large institutions to be especially concerned with preparedness for vulnerable populations;outreach programs to be put in place to spread awareness of the importance of protecting important documents and possessions during a disaster;news outlets to switch their focus from normal survival tips to discussions on the importance of protecting documents and possessions;government and non-profit agencies to work together to share tips and information through social media and other forms of handouts.展开更多
[Objective]The research aimed to study preparation and application of the environment-friendly compound flocculant.[Method]Chitosan(natural biological product,CTS),ferric sulfate[Fe2(SO4) 3]and polymeric aluminum ...[Objective]The research aimed to study preparation and application of the environment-friendly compound flocculant.[Method]Chitosan(natural biological product,CTS),ferric sulfate[Fe2(SO4) 3]and polymeric aluminum chloride(PAC) as the main raw materials,four kinds of environment-friendly flocculants were made to conduct flocculation treatment on the domestic wastewater of Wuhan Bioengineering Institute.COD and turbidity of the wastewater as the main indicators,influences of the compound flocculant formulation,flocculant dosage and pH on flocculation effect were studied.[Result]CTS/PAC and CTS/Fe2(SO4) 3 compound flocculants had better removal rates for COD and turbidity when compared with single inorganic flocculant.The best volume ratio of CTS/PAC was 1.0:5.0.The smallest dosage of CTS/PAC in each 500 ml of water sample was 4.0 ml.When pH was 7.2,removal rates of the COD and turbidity were respectively 78.5% and 98.4%,which rose by 36.5% and 21.5% respectively than that singly using PAC.[Conclusion]CTS/PAC was a kind of ideal compound flocculant and had better application prospect.展开更多

It uses syntax directed markup language as the internal representation, alld provides an interactive WYSIWYG interface for users to format equations. WITS-Math provides an equation access mechanism. Other tools can access equations in a library by cross-reference from a source file or through data exchange without knowillg the structure of equation libraries. Metal-organic framework(MOF)membranes with an ultra-small pore size(<4Å)have shown great prospects in the highly selective separation of small gas molecules such as hydrogen,but their narrow channels may resul...Metal-organic framework(MOF)membranes with an ultra-small pore size(<4Å)have shown great prospects in the highly selective separation of small gas molecules such as hydrogen,but their narrow channels may result in a low gas permeance.To improve the gas permeance of ultra-microporous MOF membranes,a stable covalent organic framework(COF)with large and uniform pores is doped to construct a binary COF/MOF all-nanoporous composite(ANC)membrane,equivalent to reducing the effective membrane thickness but avoiding the challenging ultra-thin membrane preparation.The COF synthesized by ball milling is combined with a metal gel to form a precursor membrane,which was then transformed to a COF/MOF ANC membrane by treatment with the MOF ligand vapor.A very small amount of solvent has been applied,offering an environmentally-friendly preparation process.Compared with the pristine MOF membrane,the COF/MOF ANC membranes possess a highly improved gas permeance from 22 GPU to 551 GPU with a slight sacrifice of selectivity;this introduces a new strategy to optimize the separation performance of MOF membranes.展开更多
