Spatial memory is crucial for survival within external surroundings and wild environments.The hippocampus,a critical hub for spatial learning and memory formation,has received extensive investigations on how neuromodu...Spatial memory is crucial for survival within external surroundings and wild environments.The hippocampus,a critical hub for spatial learning and memory formation,has received extensive investigations on how neuromodulators shape its functions(Teixeira et al.,2018;Zhang et al.,2024).However,the landscape of neuromodulations in the hippocampal system remains poorly understood because most studies focus on classical monoamine neuromodulators,such as acetylcholine,serotonin,dopamine,and noradrenaline.The neuropeptides,comprising the most abundant neuromodulators in the central nervous system,play a pivotal role in neural information processing in the hippocampal system.Cholecystokinin(CCK),one of the most abundant neuropeptides,has been implicated in regulating various physiological and neurobiological statuses(Chen et al.,2019).CCK-A receptor(CCK-AR)and CCK-B receptors(CCK-BR)are two key receptors mediating the biological functions of CCK,both of which belong to class-A sevenfold transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors(Nishimura et al.,2015).CCK-AR preferentially reacts to sulfated CCK,whereas CCK-BR binds both CCK and gastrin with similar affinities(Ding et al.,2022).The expression patterns of CCK-AR and CCK-BR are distinct,implying that CCK has various functions in target regions.For instance,CCK-AR is widely expressed in the GI and brain subregions and is hence implicated in the control of digestive function and satiety regulation.Conversely,CCK-BR is abundantly and widely distributed in the central nervous system,which majorly regulates anxiety,learning,and memory(Ding et al.,2022).However,the roles of endogenous CCK and CCK receptors in regulating hippocampal function at electrophysiological and behavioral levels have received less attention.展开更多

The Red Sea-Gulf of Suez-Cairo-Alexandria Clysmic-Trend in northern Egypt is the main earthquake zone in the country,with a moderate-to-high seismic hazard and a history of significant earthquakes caused by rifting an...The Red Sea-Gulf of Suez-Cairo-Alexandria Clysmic-Trend in northern Egypt is the main earthquake zone in the country,with a moderate-to-high seismic hazard and a history of significant earthquakes caused by rifting and active faulting.To improve our understanding of the tectonic and seismic processes in this area,more comprehensive imaging of the crustal structure is required.This can be achieved by increasing the number of receiver functions(RFs)recorded by the seismic stations in northern Egypt and the southeastern Mediterranean.Data handling and processing should also be automated to increase process efficiency.In this study,we developed a capsule neural network for automated selection of RFs.The model was trained on a dataset containing RFs(both selected and unselected)from five broadband stations in northern Egypt.Stations SLM,SIWA,KOT,NBNS,and NKL are located in the unstable shelf region of Egypt,where limited knowledge of the deep crustal structure is available.The proposed capsule neural network achieved an average precision of 80%on the test set.The automated selection of RFs using a capsule neural network has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of RF analysis,as demonstrated by the stacking test.This could lead to a better understanding of crustal structure and tectonic processes in northern Egypt and the southeastern Mediterranean.展开更多

Accurately revealing the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of land use functions(LUFs)and their driving factors is imperative for advancing sustainable land utilization and optimizing land use plan...Accurately revealing the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of land use functions(LUFs)and their driving factors is imperative for advancing sustainable land utilization and optimizing land use planning.This is especially critical for ecologically vulnerable inland river basins in arid regions.However,existing methods struggle to effectively capture complex nonlinear interactions among environmental factors and their multifaceted relationships with trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,especially for the inland river basins in arid regions.Consequently,this study focused on the middle reaches of the Heihe River Basin(MHRB),an arid inland river basin in northwestern China.Using land use,socioeconomic,meteorological,and hydrological data from 2000 to 2020,we analyzed the spatiotemporal patterns of LUFs and their trade-off and synergy relationships from the perspective of production,living,ecological functions.Additionally,we employed an integrated Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)-SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)framework to investigate the environmental factors influencing the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs.Our findings reveal that from 2000 to 2020,the production,living,and ecological functions of land use within the MHRB exhibited an increasing trend,demonstrating a distinct spatial pattern of''high in the southwest and low in the northeast''.Significant spatial heterogeneity defined the trade-off and synergistic relationships,with trade-offs dominating human activity-intensive oasis areas,while synergies prevailed in other areas.During the study period,synergistic relationships between production and living functions and between production and ecological functions were relatively robust,whereas synergies in living-ecological functions remained weaker.Natural factors(digital elevation model(DEM),annual mean temperature,Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),and annual precipitation)emerged as the primary factors driving the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,followed by socioeconomic factors(population density,Gross Domestic Product(GDP),and land use intensity),while distance factors(distance to water bodies,distance to residential areas,and distance to roads)exerted minimal influence.Notably,the interactions among NDVI,annual mean temperature,DEM,and land use intensity exerted the most substantial impacts on the relationships among LUFs.This study provides novel perspectives and methodologies for unraveling the mechanisms underlying the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,offering scientific insights to inform regional land use planning and sustainable natural resource management in inland river basins in arid regions.展开更多

The proposed method combines control barrier functions and control Lyapunov functions with a nonlinear extended state observer to produce a robust and safe control strategy for dynamic systems subject to uncertainties and disturbances. This control strategy employs an optimization-based control, supported by the disturbance estimation from a nonlinear extended state observer. Using a quadratic programming algorithm, the controller computes an optimal, stable, and safe control action at each sampling instant. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through numerical simulations of a safety-critical interconnected adaptive cruise control system.展开更多

AIM:To explore the role of a previously-found MYH9 tail domain mutation(p.E1384Q)in the pathogenesis of congenital cataract.METHODS:The cell experiments were conducted in vitro.Wild-type(WT)MYH9 and p.E1384Q mutant fr...AIM:To explore the role of a previously-found MYH9 tail domain mutation(p.E1384Q)in the pathogenesis of congenital cataract.METHODS:The cell experiments were conducted in vitro.Wild-type(WT)MYH9 and p.E1384Q mutant fragments were constructed,which was then transiently transfected into Hek293T cell lines.Western blotting and quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)were used to analyze the protein and mRNA level of non-muscle myosin IIA(NM IIA)and F-actin in transfected cells,and fluorescence microscopy was applied to explore the subcellular localization of NM IIA and F-actin.Cell counting kit-8(CCK8),woundhealing and double staining flow cytometry assays were performed to evaluate the proliferation,migration and apoptosis function of transfected cells,respectively.Transmission electron microscope was conducted to observe the alteration of organelle structure.RESULTS:The transiently-transfected WT and p.E1384Q mutant Hek293T cell lines was constructed.Western blot demonstrated that,comparing with MYH9WT group,the relative protein amount of NM IIA and F-actin significantly decreased in MYH9E1384Q cells(P<0.001).qRT-PCR analysis revealed that the relative mRNA amount of NM IIA and F-actin also significantly reduced in MYH9E1384Q cells when compared with MYH9WT.The immunofluorescence microscopy showed that the fluorescence signal of NM IIA and F-actin significantly decreased in E1384Q cells.The diffuse cytoplasmic distribution of NM IIA in MYH9WT was changed to be clumped distribution,presenting a“speckled”pattern characterized by aggregates of small size in MYH9E1384Q.Functional study revealed that the E1384Q mutation significantly inhibited cell proliferation(P=0.003)and migration(P<0.001),and promoted apoptosis(P<0.001).Electron microscope showed that the mutation remarkably decreased the number of mitochondria(P<0.001)and changed the phenotype of mitochondria.CONCLUSION:The missense gene mutation in MYH9(p.E1384Q)causing congenital cataract results in decreased amount and altered subcellular distribution of NM IIA and F-actin,accompanied by decreased cell proliferation and migration,promotes apoptosis and mitochondrial alteration.展开更多

Mining activities have caused significant land degradation globally,emphasizing the need for effective restoration.Microbial inoculants offer a promising solution for sustainable remediation by enhancing soil nutrient...Mining activities have caused significant land degradation globally,emphasizing the need for effective restoration.Microbial inoculants offer a promising solution for sustainable remediation by enhancing soil nutrients,enzyme activities,and microbial communities to support plant growth.However,the mechanisms by which inoculants influence soil microbes and their relationship with plant growth require further investigation.Metagenomic sequencing was employed for this study,based on a one-year greenhouse experiment,to elucidate the effects of Bacillus thuringiensis NL-11 on the microbial functions of abandoned mine soils.Our findings revealed that the application of microbial inoculants significantly enhanced the soil total carbon(TC),total sulfur(TS),organic carbon(SOC),available phosphorus(AP),ammonium(NH4+),urease,arylsulfatase,phosphatase,β-1,4-glucosidase(BG),β-1,4-N-acetylglucosaminidase(NAG).Moreover,this led to substantial improvements in plant height,as well as aboveground and belowground biomass.Microbial inoculants impacted functional gene structures without altering diversity.The normalized abundance of genes related to the degradation of carbon and nitrogen,methane metabolism,and nitrogen fixation were observed to increase,as well as the functional genes related to phosphorus cycling.Significant correlations were found between nutrient cycling gene abundance and plant biomass.Partial Least Squares Path Model analysis showed that microbial inoculants not only directly influenced plant biomass but also indirectly affected the plant biomass through C cycle modifications.This study highlights the role of microbial inoculants in promoting plant growth and soil restoration by improving soil properties and enhancing normalized abundance of nutrient cycling gene,making them essential for the recovery of abandoned mine sites.展开更多

文摘Accurately revealing the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of land use functions(LUFs)and their driving factors is imperative for advancing sustainable land utilization and optimizing land use planning.This is especially critical for ecologically vulnerable inland river basins in arid regions.However,existing methods struggle to effectively capture complex nonlinear interactions among environmental factors and their multifaceted relationships with trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,especially for the inland river basins in arid regions.Consequently,this study focused on the middle reaches of the Heihe River Basin(MHRB),an arid inland river basin in northwestern China.Using land use,socioeconomic,meteorological,and hydrological data from 2000 to 2020,we analyzed the spatiotemporal patterns of LUFs and their trade-off and synergy relationships from the perspective of production,living,ecological functions.Additionally,we employed an integrated Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)-SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)framework to investigate the environmental factors influencing the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs.Our findings reveal that from 2000 to 2020,the production,living,and ecological functions of land use within the MHRB exhibited an increasing trend,demonstrating a distinct spatial pattern of''high in the southwest and low in the northeast''.Significant spatial heterogeneity defined the trade-off and synergistic relationships,with trade-offs dominating human activity-intensive oasis areas,while synergies prevailed in other areas.During the study period,synergistic relationships between production and living functions and between production and ecological functions were relatively robust,whereas synergies in living-ecological functions remained weaker.Natural factors(digital elevation model(DEM),annual mean temperature,Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),and annual precipitation)emerged as the primary factors driving the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,followed by socioeconomic factors(population density,Gross Domestic Product(GDP),and land use intensity),while distance factors(distance to water bodies,distance to residential areas,and distance to roads)exerted minimal influence.Notably,the interactions among NDVI,annual mean temperature,DEM,and land use intensity exerted the most substantial impacts on the relationships among LUFs.This study provides novel perspectives and methodologies for unraveling the mechanisms underlying the spatial heterogeneity in the trade-offs and synergies of LUFs,offering scientific insights to inform regional land use planning and sustainable natural resource management in inland river basins in arid regions.

文摘The objective of this paper is to present a robust safety-critical control system based on the active disturbance rejection control approach, designed to guarantee safety even in the presence of model inaccuracies, unknown dynamics, and external disturbances. The proposed method combines control barrier functions and control Lyapunov functions with a nonlinear extended state observer to produce a robust and safe control strategy for dynamic systems subject to uncertainties and disturbances. This control strategy employs an optimization-based control, supported by the disturbance estimation from a nonlinear extended state observer. Using a quadratic programming algorithm, the controller computes an optimal, stable, and safe control action at each sampling instant. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through numerical simulations of a safety-critical interconnected adaptive cruise control system.

文摘MAX series materials,as non-van der Waals layered multi-element compounds,contribute remarkable regulated properties and functional dimension,combining the features of metal and ceramic materials due to their inherently laminated crystal structure that Mn+1Xn slabs are intercalated with A element layers.Oriented to the functional requirements of information,intelligence,electrification,and aerospace in the new era,how to accelerate MAX series materials into new quality productive forces?The systematic enhancement of knowledge about MAX series materials is intrinsic to understanding its low-dimensional geometric structure characteristics,and physical and chemical properties,revealing the correlation of composition,structure,and function and further realizing rational design based on simulation and prediction.Diversity also brings complexity to MAX materials research.This review provides substantial tabular information on(Ⅰ)MAX’s research timeline from 1960 to the present,(Ⅱ)structure diversity and classification convention,(Ⅲ)synthesis route exploration,(Ⅳ)prediction based on theory and machine learning,(Ⅴ)properties,and(Ⅵ)functional applications.Herein,the researchers can quickly locate research content and recognize connections and differences of MAX series materials.In addition,the research challenges for the future development of MAX series materials are highlighted.

文摘This study explores the ecological functions and spatial composition of the water landscape in the traditional Huizhou settlement of Chenggan Village.The analysis reveals how the estuary integrates the functions of water source protection,microclimate regulation,and cultural expression through a complex layout of ponds and Feng Shui forests.It provides important lessons for modern sustainable landscape design and planning.

文摘AIM:To explore the role of a previously-found MYH9 tail domain mutation(p.E1384Q)in the pathogenesis of congenital cataract.METHODS:The cell experiments were conducted in vitro.Wild-type(WT)MYH9 and p.E1384Q mutant fragments were constructed,which was then transiently transfected into Hek293T cell lines.Western blotting and quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)were used to analyze the protein and mRNA level of non-muscle myosin IIA(NM IIA)and F-actin in transfected cells,and fluorescence microscopy was applied to explore the subcellular localization of NM IIA and F-actin.Cell counting kit-8(CCK8),woundhealing and double staining flow cytometry assays were performed to evaluate the proliferation,migration and apoptosis function of transfected cells,respectively.Transmission electron microscope was conducted to observe the alteration of organelle structure.RESULTS:The transiently-transfected WT and p.E1384Q mutant Hek293T cell lines was constructed.Western blot demonstrated that,comparing with MYH9WT group,the relative protein amount of NM IIA and F-actin significantly decreased in MYH9E1384Q cells(P<0.001).qRT-PCR analysis revealed that the relative mRNA amount of NM IIA and F-actin also significantly reduced in MYH9E1384Q cells when compared with MYH9WT.The immunofluorescence microscopy showed that the fluorescence signal of NM IIA and F-actin significantly decreased in E1384Q cells.The diffuse cytoplasmic distribution of NM IIA in MYH9WT was changed to be clumped distribution,presenting a“speckled”pattern characterized by aggregates of small size in MYH9E1384Q.Functional study revealed that the E1384Q mutation significantly inhibited cell proliferation(P=0.003)and migration(P<0.001),and promoted apoptosis(P<0.001).Electron microscope showed that the mutation remarkably decreased the number of mitochondria(P<0.001)and changed the phenotype of mitochondria.CONCLUSION:The missense gene mutation in MYH9(p.E1384Q)causing congenital cataract results in decreased amount and altered subcellular distribution of NM IIA and F-actin,accompanied by decreased cell proliferation and migration,promotes apoptosis and mitochondrial alteration.

文摘With the popularization of social media,stickers have become an important tool for young students to express themselves and resist mainstream culture due to their unique visual and emotional expressiveness.Most existing studies focus on the negative impacts of spoof stickers,while paying insufficient attention to their positive functions.From the perspective of multimodal metaphor,this paper uses methods such as virtual ethnography and image-text analysis to clarify the connotation of stickers,understand the evolution of their digital dissemination forms,and explore the multiple functions of subcultural stickers in the social interactions between teachers and students.Young students use stickers to convey emotions and information.Their expressive function,social function,and cultural metaphor function progress in a progressive manner.This not only shapes students’values but also promotes self-expression and teacher-student interaction.It also reminds teachers to correct students’negative thoughts by using stickers,achieving the effect of“cultivating and influencing people through culture.”

文摘Mining activities have caused significant land degradation globally,emphasizing the need for effective restoration.Microbial inoculants offer a promising solution for sustainable remediation by enhancing soil nutrients,enzyme activities,and microbial communities to support plant growth.However,the mechanisms by which inoculants influence soil microbes and their relationship with plant growth require further investigation.Metagenomic sequencing was employed for this study,based on a one-year greenhouse experiment,to elucidate the effects of Bacillus thuringiensis NL-11 on the microbial functions of abandoned mine soils.Our findings revealed that the application of microbial inoculants significantly enhanced the soil total carbon(TC),total sulfur(TS),organic carbon(SOC),available phosphorus(AP),ammonium(NH4+),urease,arylsulfatase,phosphatase,β-1,4-glucosidase(BG),β-1,4-N-acetylglucosaminidase(NAG).Moreover,this led to substantial improvements in plant height,as well as aboveground and belowground biomass.Microbial inoculants impacted functional gene structures without altering diversity.The normalized abundance of genes related to the degradation of carbon and nitrogen,methane metabolism,and nitrogen fixation were observed to increase,as well as the functional genes related to phosphorus cycling.Significant correlations were found between nutrient cycling gene abundance and plant biomass.Partial Least Squares Path Model analysis showed that microbial inoculants not only directly influenced plant biomass but also indirectly affected the plant biomass through C cycle modifications.This study highlights the role of microbial inoculants in promoting plant growth and soil restoration by improving soil properties and enhancing normalized abundance of nutrient cycling gene,making them essential for the recovery of abandoned mine sites.
