Ground support is widely implemented to mitigate dynamic rock failures in underground mines.This paper investigated the ground support requirements in burst-prone mines to mitigate the catastrophic dynamic rock failures of rock and/or coal bursts.First,the ground support principles and considerations in burst-prone conditions are identified.The objective of a ground support system is to increase the capacity to accommodate rock fracturing in a rockburst and,in turn,to minimize the kinetic energy of the ejected material.The support capacities of various yielding rockbolts and integrated support systems are then investigated using the test results in the laboratory.Apart from the energy absorption and yielding deformation capacity,the initial stiffness and energy absorption rate are also critical factors when applying yielding rockbolts in practice.Adding rope lacing and mesh strap to surface support elements can substantially enhance the support performance of the system.In practice,semi-analytical and empirical approaches are often used to determine the ground support elements in burst-prone areas.Semi-analytical methods first evaluate the support demand in burst risk zones and then select support elements according to their laboratory test results.Alternatively,empirical methods determine the ground support elements according to the locally established empirical rating scheme,which usually ranks the support capacities of various support systems based on ground support conditions and damage conditions.The outcomes of this study can provide insights into ground support strategies and assist the mining industry to develop effective coal burst control technologies. 展开更多

Cryogenic ground support equipment (CGSE) is an important part of a famous particle physics experiment - AMS-02. In this paper a design method which optimizes PID parameters of CGSE control system via the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is presented. Firstly, an improved version of the original PSO, cooperative random learning particle swarm optimization (CRPSO), is put forward to enhance the performance of the conventional PSO. Secondly, the way of finding PID coefficient will be studied by using this algorithm. Finally, the experimental results and practical works demonstrate that the CRPSO-PID controller achieves a good performance. 展开更多

The paper is a summary of discussions on four topics in rockburst and dynamic ground support.Topic 1 is the mechanisms of rockburst.Rockburst events are classified into two categories in accordance with the triggering mechanisms,i.e.strain burst and fault-slip burst.Strain burst occurs on rock surfaces when the tangential stress exceeds the rock strength in hard and brittle rocks.Fault-slip burst is triggered by fault-slip induced seismicity.Topic 2 is prediction and forecasting of rockburst events.Prediction for a rockburst event must tell the location,timing and magnitude of the event.Forecasting could simply foresee the probability of some of the three parameters.It is extremely challenging to predict rockbursts and large seismic events with current knowledge and technologies,but forecasting is possible,for example the possible locations of strain burst in an underground opening.At present,the approach using seismic monitoring and numerical modelling is a promising forecasting method.Topic 3 is preconditioning methods.The current preconditioning methods are blasting,relief-hole drilling and hydrofracturing.Defusing fault-slip seismicity is difficult and challenging but has been achieved.In very deep locations(>3000 m),the fracturing could extend from the excavation face to a deep location ahead of the face and therefore preconditioning is usually not required.Topic 4 is dynamic ground support against rockburst.Dynamic ground support requires that the support system be strong enough to sustain the momentum of the ejecting rock on one hand and tough enough on the other hand to absorb the strain and seismic energies released from the rock mass.The current dynamic support systems in underground mining are composed of yielding tendons and flexible surface retaining elements like mesh/screen and straps.Yielding props and engineered timber props are also used for dynamic support. 展开更多

There are considerable challenges associated with the design of ground support for seismically-active underground mines.It is extremely difficult to establish the demand on ground support as well as the capacity of a ground support system.The resulting dynamic or impact loads caused by mining-induced seismicity are difficult to anticipate and quantify.The performance of a ground support system is defined by the load distribution and interaction between several reinforcement and surface support elements.Consequently,the design of ground support in seismically-active mines tends to evolve,or be modified based on qualitative assessments of perceived performance or response to significant seismic events or rockbursts.This research is motivated by a need to provide quantitative and data-driven design guidelines for ground support systems subjected to dynamic-loading conditions.Rockburst data were collected from three deep and seismically-active underground mines in the Sudbury basin in Canada.The constructed database comprises 209 seismic events that resulted in damage to mine excavations and ground support.These events were associated with damage at 324 locations within the three mines.The developed ground support design strategy,based on these documented case studies,identifies areas where the use of dynamic or enhanced support should be employed.The developed design methodology provides guidelines for the zoning of mine locations in which installation of enhanced support is recommended,the specifications for an optimal ground support system,and the timing or sequence of installation. 展开更多

Evaporites are subject to continual creep and no amount of ground support can successfully arrest this process. Common ground-support techniques that are useful for most rock types may reduce the effective life of bolts in evaporite mines and create unseen hazards. A different approach to ground support must be applied to provide long-term support in areas where high creep rates are present. The goal of effective ground-support designs in these situations is not to contain and prevent the rock from moving; rather, the ground-support design must be able to move along with the rock and contain any fully detached slabs until additional remediation measures can be undertaken.The most appropriate ground-support designs will consider the expected movement of the rock and the duration that the area needs to remain accessible. 展开更多

Due to high ground stress and mining disturbance, the deformation and failure of deep soft rock roadway is serious, and invalidation of the anchor net-anchor cable supporting structure occurs. The failure characteristics of roadways revealed with the help of the ground pressure monitoring. Theoretical analysis was adopted to analyze the influence of mining disturbance on stress distribution in surrounding rock,and the change of stress was also calculated. Considering the change of stress in surrounding rock of bottom extraction roadway, the displacement, plastic zone and distribution law of principal stress difference under different support schemes were studied by means of FLAC3D. The supporting scheme of U-shaped steel was proposed for bottom extraction roadway that underwent mining disturbance. We carried out a similarity model test to verify the effect of support in dynamic pressure. Monitoring results demonstrated the change rules of deformation and stress of surrounding rock in different supporting schemes. The supporting scheme of U-shaped steel had an effective control on deformation of surrounding rock. The scheme was successfully applied in underground engineering practice, and achieved good technical and economic benefits. 展开更多

A linear response history analysis method is used to determine the influence of three factors:geometric incoherency,wave-passage,and local site characteristics on the response of lnulti-support structures subjected to differential ground motions.A one-span frame and a reduced model of a 24-span bridge,located in Las Vegas,Nevada are studied,in which the influence of each of the three factors and their combinations are analyzed.It is revealed that the incoherency of earthquake ground motion can have a dramatic influence on structural response by modifying the dynamics response to uniform excitation and inducing pseudo-static response,which does not exist in structures subjected to uniform excitation.The total response when all three sources of ground motion incoherency are included is generally larger than that of uniform excitation. 展开更多

Despite recent advances in mine health and safety, roof collapse and instabilities are still the leading causes of injury and fatality in underground mining operations. Improving safety and optimum design of ground support requires good and reliable ground characterization. While many geophysical methods have been developed for ground characterizations, their accuracy is insufficient for customized ground support design of underground workings. The actual measurements on the samples of the roof and wall strata from the exploration boring are reliable but the related holes are far apart, thus unsuitable for design purposes. The best source of information could be the geological back mapping of the roof and walls, but this is disruptive to mining operations, and provided information is only from rock surface.Interpretation of the data obtained from roof bolt drilling can offer a good and reliable source of information that can be used for ground characterization and ground support design and evaluations. This paper offers a brief review of the mine roof characterization methods, followed by introduction and discussion of the roof characterization methods by instrumented roof bolters. A brief overview of the results of the preliminary study and initial testing on an instrumented drill and summary of the suggested improvements are also discussed. 展开更多

Preventing roof fall fatalities during pillar recovery:A ground control success story 被引量:5

For decades, pillar recovery accounted for a quarter of all roof fall fatalities in underground coal mines.Studies showed that a miner on a pillar recovery section was at least three times more likely to be killed by a roof fall than other coal miners. Since 2007, however, there has been just one fatal roof fall on a pillar line. This paper describes the process that resulted in this historic achievement. It covers both the key research findings and the ways in which those insights, beginning in the early 2000 s, were implemented in mining practice. One key finding was that safe pillar recovery requires both global and local stability.Global stability is addressed primarily through proper pillar design, and became a major focus after the2007 Crandall Canyon mine disaster. But the most significant improvements resulted from detailed studies that showed that local stability, defined as roof control in the immediate work area, could be achieved with three interventions:(1) leaving an engineered final stump, rather than extracting the entire pillar,(2) enhancing roof bolt support, particularly in intersections, and(3) increasing the use of mobile roof supports(MRS). A final component was an emphasis on better management of pillar recovery operations.This included a focus on worker positioning, as well as on the pillar and lift sequences, MRS operations,and hazard identification. As retreat mines have incorporated these elements into their roof control plans,it has become clear that pillar recovery is not ‘‘inherently unsafe." The paper concludes with a discussion of the challenges that remain, including the problems of rib falls and coal bursts. 展开更多

为探明伺服钢支撑主动控制旁侧既有盾构隧道变形时基坑和隧道的整体受力变形规律和机理,解决工程中伺服钢支撑的不合理应用问题,开展室内缩尺模型试验,通过分析地连墙变形、隧道变形、隧道围压与内力、周围土压力等试验数据,以及伺服钢... 为探明伺服钢支撑主动控制旁侧既有盾构隧道变形时基坑和隧道的整体受力变形规律和机理,解决工程中伺服钢支撑的不合理应用问题,开展室内缩尺模型试验,通过分析地连墙变形、隧道变形、隧道围压与内力、周围土压力等试验数据,以及伺服钢支撑不同组合方式下的隧道变形控制效果,研究伺服钢支撑主动控制旁侧隧道变形的规律和机理。试验结果表明:伺服加载对隧道水平位移和拱顶沉降均有一定的控制效果,且对水平位移的控制效果更加显著,对隧道右拱腰围压与弯矩的影响最大,拱顶拱底次之,对左拱腰影响最小,对地表沉降未产生显著的控制效果。伺服加载在旁侧土体产生的附加应力,随着距离增大产生消散现象,在隧道右拱腰产生应力集中现象,伺服加载对地连墙变形、隧道围压和弯矩、隧道变形的影响同步产生且相互关联。伺服钢支撑设置位置越靠近隧道埋深处、设置层数越多对隧道变形控制效果越好,但设置位置不当时设置层数与隧道变形控制效果不成正比,甚至产生负向控制效果,工程中应重点考虑伺服钢支撑的设置位置,不可盲目增大设置层数,否则增加工程成本且可能产生工程风险。研究结果可为伺服钢支撑主动控制围护结构及旁侧隧道变形提供理论指导,利于其更加广泛而合理地应用。 展开更多

研究了光伏阵列在复杂环境下易出现的线-地故障、单极接地及雨天接地等故障。针对低辐照度或较高比例失配时线-地故障无法有效检测的问题,提出基于多辐照模式的关键参量变化规律,确定最右功率峰值电压V_(RPP)、最右功率峰值电流I_(RPP)... 研究了光伏阵列在复杂环境下易出现的线-地故障、单极接地及雨天接地等故障。针对低辐照度或较高比例失配时线-地故障无法有效检测的问题,提出基于多辐照模式的关键参量变化规律,确定最右功率峰值电压V_(RPP)、最右功率峰值电流I_(RPP)为线-地故障特征量。通过皮尔森相关系数分析故障极与非故障极的电压相关性,确定单极接地故障特征量。针对雨天接地故障产生共模电流的机理,基于小波变换和总谐波畸变率提出故障特征量。最终,构建基于改进布谷鸟搜索算法优化支持向量机(ICS-SVM)的光伏阵列接地故障诊断模型,并通过晴天和雨天不同辐照度的仿真和实验验证,证实了所提接地故障特征量的有效性及模型的诊断精度与收敛速度。 展开更多

The Process of Support by Nursing Professionals for Families Having a Member with Borderline Personality Disorder

The purpose of this study was to explore the process of family support provided by nurses to families with a borderline personality disorder (BPD) patient. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 nurses who had provided care to BPD patients. Data obtained from the interviews were qualitatively analyzed using a modified grounded theory approach. As an overall core category of family support processes practiced by nurses for families with BPD patients, family support practiced without awareness that the nurses were supporting families was extracted. Through this process, nurses held perceptions that were premises for family support, which were formed through their individual nursing experiences and perspectives. Nurses also had diverse perceptions concerning the image of families. Through the integration of perceptions that were premises for family support and perceptions of an image of the family, nurses underwent a process of “determination and ambivalence about the need for family support.” Then, nurses provided “family support practice” when they acknowledged the need for family support. During the “family support practice,” nurses had difficulties in providing family support. When family support was not successfully provided, nurses provided “family support practice with seeking more effective ways through trial and error.” For cases in which nurses did not acknowledge the need for intervention, they intentionally chose “not to provide family support.” Furthermore, during the “family support practice,” nurses had contradictory perspectives of family support. Such family support processes ultimately led to an awareness of the same family support required for the future. Family support was provided with “family support practice” and “family support practice with seeking more effective ways through trial and error.” In some cases, however, the process ended in “not to provide family support intentionally.” Experiences and perspectives in providing family support are important factors in carrying out future family support. Developing the positive implications of these factors and reducing psychological strain on nurses may ensure smooth implementation of family support. Thus, nurses need to recognize that they are supporting the family, which is identified as a core category. 展开更多

A spectral-representation-based algorithm is proposed to simulate non-stationary and stochastic processes with evolutionary power,according to a prescribed non-stationary cross-spectral density matrix. Non-stationary multi-point seismic ground motions at different locations on the ground surface are generated for use in engineering applications. First,a modified iterative procedure is used to generate uniformly modulated non-stationary ground motion time histories which are compatible with the prescribed power spectrum. Then,ground motion time histories are modeled as a non-stationary stochastic process with amplitude and frequency modulation. The characteristic frequency and damping ratio of the Clough-Penzien acceleration spectrum are considered as a function of time in order to study the frequency time variation. Finally,two numerical examples are presented to validate the efficiency of the proposed method,and the results show that this method can be effectively applied to the dynamic seismic analysis of long and large scale structures. 展开更多

应用背包和无人机LiDAR数据对森林地上生物量估测 被引量:3

激光雷达(LiDAR)技术在林业调查中应用广泛,能够精确获取森林垂直结构信息。利用背包LiDAR结合实地调查样地,验证其替代实地调查的可行性;应用UAV-LiDAR数据,采用多元逐步回归(MSR)、支持向量机(SVM)和随机森林(RF)算法,建立地上生物量... 激光雷达(LiDAR)技术在林业调查中应用广泛,能够精确获取森林垂直结构信息。利用背包LiDAR结合实地调查样地,验证其替代实地调查的可行性;应用UAV-LiDAR数据,采用多元逐步回归(MSR)、支持向量机(SVM)和随机森林(RF)算法,建立地上生物量估测模型并进行对比分析。研究结果显示:(1)在人工干预下,应用背包LiDAR数据提取的单木参数与实测值高度相关,平均胸径的决定系数(R^(2))为0.98,均方根误差(R_(MSE))为0.35 cm;平均树高的R^(2)为0.96,R_(MSE)为0.63 m。(2)应用背包LiDAR构建的生物量样本,利用UAV-LiDAR建立的AGB估测模型中,随机森林模型表现最佳(R^(2)=0.75,R_(MSE)=23.58 t/hm^(2)),其次是支持向量机模型(R^(2)=0.63,R_(MSE)=30.49 t/hm^(2)),多元逐步回归模型表现最差(R^(2)=0.54,R_(MSE)=35.60 t/hm^(2))。因此,背包LiDAR获取的单木胸径及树高精度较高,可替代实测样地生物量,以扩大样本覆盖范围;应用背包LiDAR数据结合机载LiDAR,可实现较大尺度的森林生物量快速估测,为大范围森林生物量反演提供了一种可行方法。 展开更多

近断层速度脉冲地震下重载铁路桥梁抗震性能与行车安全性研究

近断层地震动具有显著的速度脉冲效应,使得铁路简支梁桥结构面临更高的震损风险。为研究重载列车过桥时的桥梁抗震性能与行车安全性,基于ANSYS/LS-DYNA软件建立重载铁路列车-轨道-桥梁(HRTTB)耦合系统的三维模型,同时考虑桥墩、支座、... 近断层地震动具有显著的速度脉冲效应,使得铁路简支梁桥结构面临更高的震损风险。为研究重载列车过桥时的桥梁抗震性能与行车安全性,基于ANSYS/LS-DYNA软件建立重载铁路列车-轨道-桥梁(HRTTB)耦合系统的三维模型,同时考虑桥墩、支座、横向三角限位撑等关键构件及轮-轨接触的非线性特性,并通过列车运行试验结果验证其合理性。进而以某重载铁路简支梁桥为研究对象,分析近断层速度脉冲型地震动对多跨简支梁桥与重载列车耦合时的地震响应规律,并与远场波及按规范反应谱合成人工波的地震响应进行对比。研究结果表明,重载列车的存在导致HRTTB系统自振周期延长,近场地震响应显著增强。近场脉冲型地震动下,墩底平均曲率较远场和人工波分别增加了约48%和39%,部分桥墩在罕遇地震下进入弹塑性阶段。相比于桥墩,支座的响应更加敏感,固定支座的位移峰值分别增大了71.5%和55.5%,横向限位撑在支座破坏后极易失效,而支座和横向限位撑的损伤破坏可耗散部分地震能量,对桥墩起到一定的保护作用。近场地震动的横向速度脉冲效应导致列车脱轨系数分别增大了114.3%和89.1%,列车行车安全性显著降低,即使在设计地震下也会发生脱轨。建立的HRTTB非线性仿真模型计算高效并能够考虑列车系统的影响,可为其他列车-轨道-桥梁耦合系统的动力响应分析提供参考。 展开更多

针对淮南矿区地应力大、围岩治理困难、多煤层开采和重复采动应力强度高等问题,调研发现锚杆支护巷道存在支护强度不足、巷道修复工程量大等突出问题。技术研讨提出了改进措施和支护对策。结果表明,2015年至2022年10月,淮南矿区发生7起... 针对淮南矿区地应力大、围岩治理困难、多煤层开采和重复采动应力强度高等问题,调研发现锚杆支护巷道存在支护强度不足、巷道修复工程量大等突出问题。技术研讨提出了改进措施和支护对策。结果表明,2015年至2022年10月,淮南矿区发生7起锚杆支护巷道事故,均与支护强度不足有关。巷道失稳主要受到应力、地质条件和施工参数的影响,尤其在沿空掘进、冲刷带和断层带施工中,顶板10 m范围内存在煤线、砂质泥岩、岩石松动等问题,受重复采动和临近工作面动压影响,导致锚杆断裂及离层增大。为此,建议采取“探、治、护、卸、支、检、监”综合防治措施,实行“一巷一策”地压治理,明确治理目标和实施方案。同时,推进地压治理示范巷道建设,推广成功经验,确保巷道支护安全、牢固。 展开更多
