Due to its capability of solving decision-making problems involving multiple entities and objectives, as well as complex action sequences, game theory has been a basic mathematical tool of economists, politicians, and sociologists for decades. It helps them understand how strategic interactions impact rational decisions of individual players in competitive and uncertain environment, if each player aims to get the best payoff. This situation is ubiquitous in engineering practices. This paper streamlines the foundations of engineering game theory, which uses concepts, theories and methodologies to guide the resolution of engineering design, operation, and control problems in a more canonical and systematic way. An overview of its application in smart grid technologies and power systems related topics is presented, and intriguing research directions are also envisioned. 展开更多

Because of the importance of graphics and information within the domain of architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), an appropriate combination of visualization technology and information management technology is of utter importance in the development of appropriately supporting design and construction applications. Virtual environments, however, tend not to make this information available. The sparse number of applications that present additional information furthermore tend to limit their scope to pure construction information and do not incorporate information from loosely related knowledge domains, such as cultural heritage or architectural history information. We therefore started an investigation of two of the newest developments in these domains, namely game engine technology and semantic web technology. This paper documents part of this research, containing a review and comparison of the most prominent game engines and documenting our architectural semantic web. A short test-case illustrates how both can be combined to enhance information visualization for architectural design and construction. 展开更多

Reverse engineering, also called back engineering, is the process of extracting knowledge or designing information from anything: mechanical device electronic components, computer programs, or biological, chemical matters, and--subsequently--analyzing its components. Reverse engineering can be applied for the sake of creating artificial intelligence, e.g. when the used methods are based on very old games, such as Go and chess. Many generations of computers are able to play at the same level as human grandmasters. A computers' arrival at that level is due to imitation of human Go or chess play. A particular emphasis shall be placed upon the Go game, known for 5,500 years. Invented in China, it may be classified as the oldest board game, having its ardent enthusiasts until present times. Old physical issues can be easily projected upon the modeling of new economic phenomena and quantum games. The aim of this paper is to discuss the applications of reverse engineering, traditional social games and other domains, such as quantum physics, to the analysis of utterly new social as well as economic phenomena. 展开更多

Marine Ranching Engineering Collaborative Innovation from the Perspective of Ecological Environment

As a resource development model with both economic and ecological functions,the environmental friendliness of marine ranching products meets the environmental needs of consumers.However,the lack of technological innovation ability limits the development of marine ranching.Therefore,this research builds a marine ranching collaborative innovation system with multi-agent participation.Evolutionary game theory is used to analyze strategic choices of all parties and the conditions of system equilibrium,and numerical simulation is used to analyze the effect of relevant factors.This paper integrates the benefits from the improvement of environmental friendliness into the payoff matrix,and explains the significance of collaborative innovation to the development of marine ranching from the perspective of ecological environment.The results showed:the participation willingness of marine ranching enterprises is positively related to open innovation subject,while the participation willingness of the other two parties is negatively related to the government;The incentive effect of collaboration is negatively correlated with the government’s will,positively correlated with the other two parties;The incentive effect of government subsidies positively affects the willingness of the three parties to participate.Finally,suggestions are provided for each participant to maintain the strategic choice of marine ranching collaborative innovation system. 展开更多

Social engineering attacks are considered one of the most hazardous cyberattacks in cybersecurity,as human vulnerabilities are often the weakest link in the entire network.Such vulnerabilities are becoming increasingly susceptible to network security risks.Addressing the social engineering attack defense problem has been the focus of many studies.However,two main challenges hinder its successful resolution.Firstly,the vulnerabilities in social engineering attacks are unique due to multistage attacks,leading to incorrect social engineering defense strategies.Secondly,social engineering attacks are real-time,and the defense strategy algorithms based on gaming or reinforcement learning are too complex to make rapid decisions.This paper proposes a multiattribute quantitative incentive method based on human vulnerability and an improved Q-learning(IQL)reinforcement learning method on human vulnerability attributes.The proposed algorithm aims to address the two main challenges in social engineering attack defense by using a multiattribute incentive method based on human vulnerability to determine the optimal defense strategy.Furthermore,the IQL reinforcement learning method facilitates rapid decision-making during real-time attacks.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional Qlearning(QL)and deep Q-network(DQN)approaches in terms of time efficiency,taking 9.1%and 19.4%less time,respectively.Moreover,the proposed algorithm effectively addresses the non-uniformity of vulnerabilities in social engineering attacks and provides a reliable defense strategy based on human vulnerability attributes.This study contributes to advancing social engineering attack defense by introducing an effective and efficient method for addressing the vulnerabilities of human factors in the cybersecurity domain. 展开更多

An integrated supplier can obtain at no cost the information from its subsidiary. Based on repeated game and considered corporate " good" or " bad" type,this paper analysis supplier's selection and downstream investment in innovation. The results showed that: when the cost is higher than the threshold value no company invest in reverse engineering,when the cost is lower than the threshold value the integration company invest in reverse engineering; in the second period,vertical integration reduce the downstream independent enterprise's innovation investment and profits,integrated enterprise increase innovation investment and profits; during the first period of the game,the independent downstream firms being " completely foreclosure". 展开更多

Decarbonizing the electricity sector is crucial to achieving the carbon neutrality goal.Integrating renewable energy and retrofitting conventional thermal units with carbon capture devices are the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions from electricity generation.However,the uncertainty in renewable generation calls for additional energy storage units,which are still relatively expensive.The operation of carbon capture facilities also consumes extra energy,incurring additional costs.In a nutshell,energy security and environmental sustainability cannot be improved without compromising the economy,which is commonly referred to as the energy trilemma.In this paper,the conflict among security,sustainability,and economy is reconciled via engineering game theory.By formulating a triobjective optimization problem,the tradeoff space is analytically expressed through polyhedral projection,and the Nash bargaining game is used to determine a unique outcome that achieves a fair tradeoff without using manually supplied parameters.Taking a renewable-dominated system as an example,in which renewable energy accounts for approximately two-thirds of the demand energy,it is shown that at equilibrium,63.7%of thermal units are retrofitted into carbon-capture units,and the power capacity of battery storage is approximately 4.3%of renewable generation capacity. 展开更多

In non-dedicated cooperative relay networks, each node is autonomous and selfish in nature, and thus spontaneous cooperation among nodes is challenged. To stimulate the selfish node to participate in cooperation, a pricing-based cooperation engine using game theory was designed. Firstly, the feasible regions of the charge price and reimbursement price were deduced. Then, the non-cooperative and cooperative games were adopted to analyze the amount of bandwidth that initiating cooperation node(ICN) forwards data through participating cooperation node(PCN) and the amount of bandwidth that PCN helps ICN to relay data. Meanwhile, the Nash equilibrium solutions of cooperation bandwidth allocations(CBAs) were obtained through geometrical interpretation. Secondly, a pricing-based cooperation engine was proposed and a cooperative communication system model with cooperation engines was depicted. Finally, an algorithm based on game theory was proposed to realize the cooperation engine. The simulation results demonstrate that, compared with the system without pricing-based incentive, the proposed system can significantly improve the ICN's metric measured by bit-per-Joule and increase the PCN's revenue. 展开更多

为探究政府部门、港口与危化品企业利益相关者在危化品储存安全监管过程中的策略选择行为,基于演化博弈理论,引入静、动态奖惩机制,构建港口危化品储存安全监管的动态演化博弈模型,并对不同情景下各方策略选择行为及其演化过程进行仿真... 为探究政府部门、港口与危化品企业利益相关者在危化品储存安全监管过程中的策略选择行为,基于演化博弈理论,引入静、动态奖惩机制,构建港口危化品储存安全监管的动态演化博弈模型,并对不同情景下各方策略选择行为及其演化过程进行仿真。结果表明:当港口损失大于港口违规、合规储存收益差与港口新增储存成本之和时,系统可以达到理想稳定最优策略(弱监管,合规储存,合作);在静态奖惩机制下,政府激励、政府惩罚等对港口合规储存和危化品企业合作都是正向激励;在动态奖惩机制下,政府惩罚上限越高,港口和危化品企业选择合规运营的概率就越高,随着政府奖励上限逐渐增加,港口和危化品企业选择合规运营的概率反而呈降低趋势;降低港口的合规运营安全投入成本,建立严格准入制度和实施分类监管,对危化品企业的不安全合作行为有效约束,可实现港口危化品储存向高效安全监管方向的演化。 展开更多
