However, teaching and learning clinical reasoning skills is difficult because of its complexity. This study, therefore aimed at exploring the challenges experienced by nurse educators in promoting acquisition of clinical reasoning skills by undergraduate nursing students. Methods: A qualitative exploratory research design was used in this study. The participants were purposively sampled and recruited into the study. Data were collected using semi-structured interview guides. Thematic analysis method was used to analyze the collected data The principles of beneficence, respect of human dignity and justice were observed. Results: The findings have shown that clinical learning environment, lacked material and human resources. The students had no interest to learn the skill. There was also knowledge gap between nurse educators and clinical nurses. Lack of role model was also an issue and limited time exposure. Conclusion: The study revealed that nurse educators encounter various challenges in promoting the acquisition of clinical reasoning skills among undergraduate nursing students. Training institutions and hospitals should periodically revise the curriculum and provide sufficient resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning of clinical reasoning. Nurse educators must also update their knowledge and skills through continuous professional development if they are to transfer the skill effectively.展开更多

Introduction: Although peer education is accepted as one of the most effective methods for sexual and reproductive health education, the feelings, thoughts and self-affection of peer educators are not very well known....Introduction: Although peer education is accepted as one of the most effective methods for sexual and reproductive health education, the feelings, thoughts and self-affection of peer educators are not very well known. Our aim is to investigate what it is like to be a peer educator. Methods: This phenomenological study was conducted in Izmir as a part of “Modern Stork Legends” project supported by the European Union. Two focus group interviews were made with 18 peer educators of the project. Data were analyzed with NVivo 8 BS software. Results: All of the students stated that they participate in the project “to enhance their knowledge” and “to inform their social circle”. They are concerned about the tasks and expectations, and anxious about the subject of counseling. They think that anything related with sexuality is taboo in Turkey and it was also the same for them. They observed that, gender defined roles are reflected on students’ behaviors and attitudes. Their tolerance in understanding of inhibitions and hesitations of their peers formed the basis of their success. They stated that working in this project helped them to overcome their prejudices and contributed their development in many ways. Conclusion: Peer educators internalize substantial amount of knowledge and gain self-confidence and important skills such as communication, problem solving and access to information.展开更多

This pap...Student engagement in a clinical learning environment is a vital component in the curricula of pre-licensure nursing students, providing an opportunity to combine cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills. This paper is significant in Arab world as there is a lack of knowledge, attitude and practice of student involvement in the new clinical learning environment. The purpose of this review article is to describe the experiences and perspectives of the nurse educator in facilitating pre-licensure nursing students’ engagement in the new clinical learning environment. The review suggests that novice students prefer actual engagement in clinical learning facilitated through diversity experiences, shared learning opportunities, student-faculty interaction and active learning. They expressed continuous supervision, ongoing feedback, interpersonal relationship and personal support from nurse educators useful in the clinical practice. However, the value of this review lies in a better understanding of what constitutes quality clinical learning environment from the students’ perspective of engagement in evidence-based nursing, reflective practice, e-learning and simulated case scenarios facilitated by the nurse educators. This review is valuable in planning and implementing innovative clinical and educational experiences for improving the quality of the clinical teaching-learning environment.展开更多

Methods A cross-sectional survey was carried out among 144 middle school educators in three districts of Shanghai from September to October 2005 using anonymous self-administered questionnaire. Results The majority of the educators thought that it was necessary to launch the sex and reproductive health education in all of the middle schools in Shanghai （97. 02%）. They were aware that the age of the students＇puberty were earlier now than before （94.41%）, but the reproductive health knowledge of students was neither sufficient nor correct （78.34%）. The sex and reproductive health education had been involved in the curriculum of many middle schools （66.11%）. Lacking of qualified education staffs contributed most （90. 71%） in the schools which had not launched the sex and reproductive health education. Lacking of qualified education staffs （90.91%） challenged most in the schools which had carried the education. Conclusion The middle school educators thought it was necessary to carry the sex and reproductive health education in all of the middle schools in Shanghai while the major challenges were lacking of qualified education staffs and sufficient teaching time.展开更多

The purpose of this ...Background: The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted the clinical practicum programs of student midwives. It is very important for clinical educators to educate novice midwives in clinical settings. The purpose of this study was to develop an educational program for clinical educators to promote clinical judgment of novice midwives during delivery and to evaluate the feasibility of its practicality, acceptability and implementation. Methods: This feasibility study used an exploratory descriptive design with data generated from a questionnaire. The inclusion criteria were midwives assigned to the delivery ward who were newly scheduled to educate novice midwives in 2019 or had become a clinical educator within a year or two. The program consisted of e-learning (30 minutes) and lecture, simulation and discussion (about 2.5 hours). Descriptive statistics were performed for participant characteristics and evaluation of feasibility. Responses to the open-ended question were sorted into categories. Results: There were nine participants from two facilities. Practicality and acceptability received mostly positive evaluations. However, for a few the simulation scenarios were difficult to understand. Implementation of all the e-learning content was successful, and seminar attendance was 100% from start to finish. Conclusion: We found this e-learning program feasible in terms of practicality, acceptability and implementation. Most of the comments were positive opinions regarding future utilization of novice midwives’ education and clinical utilization of the program, suggesting that the clinical significance of this program was extremely high.展开更多

BACKGROUND Patients with depression following coronary heart disease often exhibit insufficient psychological resilience and self-care abilities;therefore,emphasis must be placed on nursing interventions.AIM To analyz...BACKGROUND Patients with depression following coronary heart disease often exhibit insufficient psychological resilience and self-care abilities;therefore,emphasis must be placed on nursing interventions.AIM To analyze the application value of problem-oriented education combined with nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model in depressed patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS This study included 150 patients diagnosed with PCI postoperative depression because of coronary heart disease between February 2022 and February 2024.Participants were divided into two groups:A control group(n=75)receiving problem-oriented education and an observation group(n=75)receiving combined nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model.Depression status,psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Before nursing interventions,there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).After the interventions,depression scores decreased while psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life scores increased significantly in the observation group compared to that in the control group,with statistically significant differences noted(P<0.05).This combined approach can enhance psychological resilience,improve self-care abilities,and elevate the overall quality of life,warranting further promotion in clinical practice.CONCLUSION Combination of problem-oriented education and nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model effectively alleviates depression in patients following PCI for coronary heart disease.展开更多

This paper is significant in Arab world as there is a lack of knowledge, attitude and practice of student involvement in the new clinical learning environment. The purpose of this review article is to describe the experiences and perspectives of the nurse educator in facilitating pre-licensure nursing students’ engagement in the new clinical learning environment. The review suggests that novice students prefer actual engagement in clinical learning facilitated through diversity experiences, shared learning opportunities, student-faculty interaction and active learning. They expressed continuous supervision, ongoing feedback, interpersonal relationship and personal support from nurse educators useful in the clinical practice. However, the value of this review lies in a better understanding of what constitutes quality clinical learning environment from the students’ perspective of engagement in evidence-based nursing, reflective practice, e-learning and simulated case scenarios facilitated by the nurse educators. This review is valuable in planning and implementing innovative clinical and educational experiences for improving the quality of the clinical teaching-learning environment.
文摘Objective To get a general picture of the attitudes of middle school educators on sex and reproductive health education. Methods A cross-sectional survey was carried out among 144 middle school educators in three districts of Shanghai from September to October 2005 using anonymous self-administered questionnaire. Results The majority of the educators thought that it was necessary to launch the sex and reproductive health education in all of the middle schools in Shanghai （97. 02%）. They were aware that the age of the students＇puberty were earlier now than before （94.41%）, but the reproductive health knowledge of students was neither sufficient nor correct （78.34%）. The sex and reproductive health education had been involved in the curriculum of many middle schools （66.11%）. Lacking of qualified education staffs contributed most （90. 71%） in the schools which had not launched the sex and reproductive health education. Lacking of qualified education staffs （90.91%） challenged most in the schools which had carried the education. Conclusion The middle school educators thought it was necessary to carry the sex and reproductive health education in all of the middle schools in Shanghai while the major challenges were lacking of qualified education staffs and sufficient teaching time.
文摘Background: The COVID-19 pandemic greatly impacted the clinical practicum programs of student midwives. It is very important for clinical educators to educate novice midwives in clinical settings. The purpose of this study was to develop an educational program for clinical educators to promote clinical judgment of novice midwives during delivery and to evaluate the feasibility of its practicality, acceptability and implementation. Methods: This feasibility study used an exploratory descriptive design with data generated from a questionnaire. The inclusion criteria were midwives assigned to the delivery ward who were newly scheduled to educate novice midwives in 2019 or had become a clinical educator within a year or two. The program consisted of e-learning (30 minutes) and lecture, simulation and discussion (about 2.5 hours). Descriptive statistics were performed for participant characteristics and evaluation of feasibility. Responses to the open-ended question were sorted into categories. Results: There were nine participants from two facilities. Practicality and acceptability received mostly positive evaluations. However, for a few the simulation scenarios were difficult to understand. Implementation of all the e-learning content was successful, and seminar attendance was 100% from start to finish. Conclusion: We found this e-learning program feasible in terms of practicality, acceptability and implementation. Most of the comments were positive opinions regarding future utilization of novice midwives’ education and clinical utilization of the program, suggesting that the clinical significance of this program was extremely high.
文摘Breast cancer is one of the most serious malignant and it seriously affects the quality of life and mental health of the patients. Research shows that peer education can improve breast cancer patients＇ quality of life, treatment compliance, and self-management behavior. Its selection, training and supervision are particularly important due to the core role of peer educators in peer support. This article reviewed the research status and progress in the selection, training and supervision of breast cancer peer educators abroad in order to provide references for further study.

文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)education plays a crucial role in cultivating TCM talents and preserving the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.This paper explores the current situation and problems of TCM education and proposes philosophical reflections on this issue.The analysis shows that the current TCM education faces various challenges,including an unbalanced curriculum,a narrow teaching approach,a lack of practical experience,and an insufficient number of qualified teachers.To enhance the teaching effectiveness and foster a new generation of high-quality Chinese medicine professionals,it is necessary to reform the teaching methods of TCM and integrate the depth of humanities into the teaching process.The paper argues that a philosophical perspective can provide a more comprehensive understanding of TCM education and its role in the development of Chinese medicine.

文摘BACKGROUND Patients with depression following coronary heart disease often exhibit insufficient psychological resilience and self-care abilities;therefore,emphasis must be placed on nursing interventions.AIM To analyze the application value of problem-oriented education combined with nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model in depressed patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS This study included 150 patients diagnosed with PCI postoperative depression because of coronary heart disease between February 2022 and February 2024.Participants were divided into two groups:A control group(n=75)receiving problem-oriented education and an observation group(n=75)receiving combined nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model.Depression status,psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.RESULTS Before nursing interventions,there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).After the interventions,depression scores decreased while psychological resilience,self-care ability,and quality of life scores increased significantly in the observation group compared to that in the control group,with statistically significant differences noted(P<0.05).This combined approach can enhance psychological resilience,improve self-care abilities,and elevate the overall quality of life,warranting further promotion in clinical practice.CONCLUSION Combination of problem-oriented education and nursing interventions based on the Snyder hope theory model effectively alleviates depression in patients following PCI for coronary heart disease.
文摘With the development of new media technology and the popularity of the TikTok platform in China,a large number of popular vocal music teachers have flocked to online platforms for teaching.Online vocal music education in China is undergoing a transformation and facing challenges.This study adopts an exploratory research approach,interviewing students learning pop vocal music,and observing popular pop teachers on TikTok.The advantages,disadvantages,techniques,and methods of domestic TikTok pop vocal music teaching were investigated and studied,and a series of experiences and suggestions for optimizing TikTok teaching were put forward.The results of this study are helpful for understanding the advantages and disadvantages of TikTok pop vocal music teaching and grasping the correct development direction.These guidance and suggestions can stimulate teachers’creativity and improve their vocal music teaching level.
