文摘Objectives:This study aimed to generate a theoretical framework based on empirical data to explain the behavioral patterns closely related to young and middle-aged patients with lymphoma throughout the disease. Methods:This study followed the classic grounded theory methodology, involving procedures such as theoretical sampling, substantive coding, theoretical coding, constant comparison, and memo writing and sorting.Multiple data types were used based on the principle of“all is data,”including 34 participants providing interview data along with observation notes and 40 relevant secondary texts from the“Lymphoma House”network platform and the“Lymphoma House 086”public account. Two autobiographical books written by lymphoma patients were also selected as data resources.Data collection and analysis were conducted in an iterative process until theoretical saturation was reached. The COREQ checklist was followed to report this study. Results:The main concern of middle-aged and young patients with lymphoma was identifiedas restoring normality, while managing uncertainty was the main behavioral pattern for restoring normality.Uncertainty consists of two interrelated types:inherent uncertainty of illness and perceived uncertainty of patients.Four strategies are used to manage uncertainty:reconstructing certainty, adaptive coping, defensive buffering, and compensatory changing.Managing uncertainty is influenced by disease characteristics and perceptions, social resources, and cultural concepts. The consequence of managing uncertainty is reaching a new normality. Conclusions:Pervasive uncertainty significantly affects the daily lives of young and middle-aged patients with lymphoma.Consequently, strategies for managing disease-related uncertainty to sustain normality are commonly observed in this population. This theoretical framework for addressing uncertainty can serve as a foundation for understanding and developing tailored interventions to manage uncertainty.Future research should focus on managing uncertainty to help patients restore normality.
文摘Objective:This randomized controlled trial aimed to assess the impact of a targeted educational intervention on the awareness and practice of genetic screening and counseling among young adults in Calabar Municipality,Cross River State.Materials and Methods:Participants(aged 18-45)were randomly assigned to either an intervention group receiving structured health education or a control group receiving general health information.Stratified randomization was used between the groups.A sample size of 340 participants was recruited to detect a 20%difference in outcomes with 80%power.Data were collected using prevalidated questionnaires at baseline, immediately after the intervention, and at a 3-month follow-up.The intervention consisted of three weekly 90-min educational sessions covering genetics, the benefits of screening, and practical guidance on accessing genetic services. The primary outcomes were changes in awareness and practices related to genetic screening, with secondary outcomes focusing on attitudes and intentions toward genetic counseling. Results:Findings revealed that awareness of genetic screening was higher in the intervention group, with 65.9%of participants aware of early detection, compared to 59.4%in the control group, although the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.23).In terms of practice,42.9%of the intervention group and 40.0%of the control group engaged in genetic screening programs, with no significant difference(P=0.57).Logistic regression analysis highlighted that age, educational level, and knowledge of teratogens were significant predictors of genetic screening awareness.Participants aged 36 years and above were 1.52 times more likely to be aware(odds ratio[OR]=1.52,P=0.003),and those with tertiary education had nearly double the likelihood of awareness(OR=1.96,P<0.001).Conclusion:The study underscores the importance of targeted education in improving genetic screening awareness.
文摘The association between sugar-sweetened beverages(SSBs)intake and hair loss condition might give scientific support for better dietary practices to prevent hair loss.We aimed to explore the association of SSBs intake with the hair loss condition in women. This online cross-sectional study, conducted from January 2022 to April 2022,recruited 1169 women aged 18-45 years from 31 provinces on mainland of China. We u sed the updated version of the 15-item Beverage Intake Questionnaire(BEVQ-15)to evaluate the usual beverage consumption over the past month and the Hair-Shedding Visual Scale for Asian Women(HSVS-A)to evaluate the extent of hair shedding. We utilized binary logistic regression to assess the association between SSBs intake and hair loss.Among 1169 female participants with an average age of 27.2,there were 211(18.0%)participants with hair loss.Compared with participants who never drank SSBs,those who drank m ore than 7 times/week or 1000 mL/week were more likely to have hair loss, with an adjusted odds ratio(OR)of 2.25(95%confidence interval(CI)=1.32,3.83)or 2.22(95%CI=1.28,3.85).Furthermore,the m ediation effect of anxiety status on the association between SSBs and female hair loss was observed, with a significant indirect effect(β_(indirect)=0.0199,95%CI=0.0032,0.0418).In conclusion, our study showed that w omen who consumed higher amounts of SSBs had an increased risk of hair loss, which might attract more attention from young women and benefit from reducing SSBs consumption.Further longitudinal and interventional studies are still needed to confirm the current association and provide evidenced-based health education.
文摘Against the backdrop of the Healthy China strategy, the insurance behavior of young consumers presents new characteristics such as enhanced autonomy,a shift toward proactive risk management, stronger personalized demands, and higher expectations for online experiences. In response to changes in young consumers'risk awareness and consumption philosophy, this paper analyzes influencing factors from four dimensions:economic income, risk perception, social environment, and internet penetration. It proposes that insurance companies should focus on digital innovation, precise product development, social platform marketing, and popularization of insurance education,to promote the transformation of young people’s insurance demand from passive risk transfer to proactive long-term planning, and to help the insurance industry and young groups achieve win-win development.

文摘As an emerging multifunctional metal with the lowest melting point except for mercury, gallium combines a wide range of metallic and non-metallic elements to form advanced semiconductors critically important in cutting-edge technologies. However, due to its low melting point and poor machinability,it is quite difficult to simultaneously characterize gallium’s elastic properties and damping characteristics using conventional methods, which is es-sential in designing and evaluating gallium-based structures. Therefore, developing effective methods to achieve accurate and efficient measurements of Young’s modulus and corresponding internal friction of gallium is of great significance. This letter studies simultaneous measurements of the variations in Young’s modulus and internal friction of gallium at varying temperatures by employing the modified piezoelectric ultrasonic composite oscil-lator technique.Combining the explicit theoretical formulas with the measured resonance and anti-resonance frequencies,it has been discovered that Young’s modulus undergoes an approximately linear decrease as the temperature rises, declining from 83.84 GPa at -70℃ to 79.37 GPa at 20℃.Moreover,like aluminum in the same Group ⅢA of the Periodic Table of Elements and exhibits a grain-boundary internal friction peak, gallium displays a longitudinal internal friction peak at approximately-12°C,with the peak value reaching 1.77×10^(-3).This basic research on gallium’s elastic properties and damping characteristics under low-temperature condi-tions will inspire further explorations of the mechanical properties of a diverse spectrum of low-melting-point functional materials and facilitate applications of gallium-based structures under complex conditions.

文摘BACKGROUND Breast cancer(BC)is the second most common malignancy globally.Young and middle-aged patients face more pressures from diagnosis, treatment, costs, and psychological issues like self-image concerns, social barriers, and professional challenges.Compared to other age groups, they have higher recurrence rates, lower survival rates, and increased risk of depression.Research is lacking on factors influencing depressive symptoms and predictive models for this age group.AIM To analyze factors influencing depressive symptoms in young/middle-aged BC patients and construct a depression risk predictive model.METHODS A total of 360 patients undergoing BC treatment at two tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province,China from November 2023 to April 2024 were included in the study.Participants were surveyed using a general information questionnaire, the patient health questionnaire depression scale, the visual analog scale for pain, the revised family support scale, and the long form of the international physical activity questionnaire.Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to identify the factors affecting depression in middle-aged and young BC patients, and a predictive model for depression risk was developed based on these findings.RESULTS Among the 360 middle-aged and young BC patients, the incidence rate of depressive symptoms was 38.61%(139/360).Multivariate analysis revealed that tumor grade, patient’s monthly income, pain score, family support score, and physical activity score were factors influencing depression in this patient group(P<0.05).The risk prediction model constructed based on these factors yielded an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.852,with a maximum Youden index of 0.973,sensitivity of 86.80%,specificity of 89.50%,and a diagnostic odds ratio of 0.552.The Hosmer-Lemeshow test for goodness of fit indicated an adequate model fit(χ^(2)=0.360,P=0.981).CONCLUSION The constructed predictive model demonstrates good predictive performance and can serve as a reference for medical professionals to early identify high-risk patients and implement corresponding preventive measures to decrease the incidence of depressive symptoms in this population.
