Efficient Time/Frequency Permutation of MIMO-OFDM Systems through Independent and Correlated Nakagami Fading Channels

Space-Time Frequency (STF) codes for MIMO-OFDM over block-fading channel can achieve rate?? Mt and full-diversity Mt Mr Mb L which is the product of the number of transmit antennas Mt, receive antennas Mr, fading blocks Mb and channel taps L. In this article, time permutation is proposed to provide independent block-fading over Jake’s Doppler power spectrum channel. Moreover, we show the performance variations of STF code as channel delay spread changes. Therefore, we introduce a frequency/time permutation technique in order to remove the frequency correlation among sub-carriers, which subsequently increases the coding gain and achieves maximum diversity. Finally, the symbol error rate (SER) performance of the proposed time/frequency permuted STF codes over independent and correlated MIMO antenna branches under Nakagami fading channel is simulated. We show that the proposed systems provide better performance and more robust to large values of antennas correlation coefficients in comparison with the un-interleaved one. 展开更多

This study explores theoretical insights and experimental results on monitoring load-carrying capacity degradation in bridge spans through frequency analysis.Experiments were conducted on real bridge structures,including the Binh Thuan Bridge,focusing on analyzing the power spectral density(PSD)of vibration signals under random traffic loads.Detailed digital models of various bridge spans with different structural designs and construction periods were developed to ensure diversity.The study utilized PSD to analyze the vibration signals from the bridge spans under various loading conditions,identifying the vibration frequencies and the corresponding response regions.The research correlated the observed frequency changes of PSD with the actual deterioration of the bridges over time,identifying patterns that indicate a reduction in stiffness.Experiments demonstrated that frequency changes,particularly in high-frequency regions,are directly related to a reduction in the stiffness of bridge spans.This supports the hypothesis that natural frequencies can serve as effective indicators of structural damage.Furthermore,the emergence and shift of resonant frequency regions provide valuable insights into the extent of damage in actual bridge spans,highlighting the potential for using changes in resonant frequency regions as a new tool for structural damage detection. 展开更多

Coordinated Control Strategy for Active Frequency Support in PV-Storage Integrated Systems

Energy storage-equipped photovoltaic(PV-storage)systems can meet frequency regulation requirements under various operating conditions,and their coordinated support for grid frequency has become a future trend.To address frequency stability issues caused by low inertia and weak damping,this paper proposes a multi-timescale frequency regulation coordinated control strategy for PV-storage integrated systems.First,a self-synchronizing control strategy for grid-connected inverters is designed based on DC voltage dynamics,enabling active inertia support while transmitting frequency variation information.Next,an energy storage inertia support control strategy is developed to enhance the frequency nadir,and an active frequency support control strategy for PV system considering a frequency regulation deadband is proposed,where the deadband value is determined based on the power regulation margin of synchronous generators,allowing the PV-storage system to adaptively switch between inertia support and primary frequency regulation under different disturbance conditions.This approach ensures system frequency stability while fully leveraging the regulation capabilities of heterogeneous resources.Finally,the real-time digital simulation results of the PV-storage integrated system demonstrate that,compared to existing control methods,the proposed strategy effectively reduces the rate of change of frequency and improves the frequency nadir under various disturbance scenarios,verifying its effectiveness. 展开更多

Effect of dynamic disturbance frequency on brittle failure of granite in deep excavation

Dynamic disturbances with various frequencies could trigger different failure modes of deep excavations.Superimposed on this static stress are dynamic disturbances due to various dynamic vibrations,e.g.excavation blasting,blasting,tunnel boring machine(TBM)vibration,rockburst wave,earthquakes.Specifically,these dynamic sources are characterized by a wide range of wave frequencies f,resulting in differences in failure modes.A series of true-triaxial compression tests were conducted on granite to simulate the excavation-induced stress path in three-dimensional(3D)stresses.Subsequently,a dynamic disturbance with various frequencies was applied to a cuboid specimen,to reveal the behavior associated with brittle failure.The dynamic disturbance with frequencies f of 5 Hz,10 Hz,and 40 Hz generates less disturbed energy components in the granite together with higher peak strength.However,dynamic disturbances with f of 20 Hz and 30 Hz resulted in a lower peak strength;the peak strength of the rock increases sp albeit it decreases at first,then increases.This U-shaped phenomenon relates to the natural frequency of the granite under such stress conditions.Different rock lithologies consisting of diverse mineral composition,respond differently to each sensitive resonance frequency.Interestingly,the weak disturbance stress with a high frequency f and low amplitude A increases the ratio of crack damage to peak strength(scd/sp)in the granite.This leads to the inhibition of the expansion of the granite during the dynamic disturbance process.Multiple penetrating tensileeshear cracks appear in the s3-direction as the disturbance frequency f increases. 展开更多

In the image fusion field,fusing infrared images(IRIs)and visible images(VIs)excelled is a key area.The differences between IRIs and VIs make it challenging to fuse both types into a high-quality image.Accordingly,efficiently combining the advantages of both images while overcoming their shortcomings is necessary.To handle this challenge,we developed an end-to-end IRI andVI fusionmethod based on frequency decomposition and enhancement.By applying concepts from frequency domain analysis,we used the layering mechanism to better capture the salient thermal targets from the IRIs and the rich textural information from the VIs,respectively,significantly boosting the image fusion quality and effectiveness.In addition,the backbone network combined Restormer Blocks and Dense Blocks;Restormer blocks utilize global attention to extract shallow features.Meanwhile,Dense Blocks ensure the integration between shallow and deep features,thereby avoiding the loss of shallow attributes.Extensive experiments on TNO and MSRS datasets demonstrated that the suggested method achieved state-of-the-art(SOTA)performance in various metrics:Entropy(EN),Mutual Information(MI),Standard Deviation(SD),The Structural Similarity Index Measure(SSIM),Fusion quality(Qabf),MI of the pixel(FMI_(pixel)),and modified Visual Information Fidelity(VIF_(m)). 展开更多

Detecting and Mitigating Cyberattacks on Load Frequency Control with Battery Energy Storage System

This paper investigates the detection and mitigation of coordinated cyberattacks on Load Frequency Control(LFC)systems integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems(BESS).As renewable energy sources gain greater penetration,power grids are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats,potentially leading to frequency instability and widespread disruptions.We model two significant attack vectors:load-altering attacks(LAAs)and false data injection attacks(FDIAs)that corrupt frequency measurements.These are analyzed for their impact on grid frequency stability in both linear and nonlinear LFC models,incorporating generation rate constraints and nonlinear loads.A coordinated attack strategy is presented,combining LAAs and FDIAs to achieve stealthiness by concealing frequency deviations from system operators,thereby maximizing disruption while evading traditional detection.To counteract these threats,we propose an Unknown Input Observer(UIO)-based detection framework for linear and nonlinear LFCs.The UIO is designed using linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)to estimate system states while isolating unknown attack inputs,enabling attack detection through monitoring measurement residuals against a predefined threshold.For mitigation,we leverage BESS capabilities with two adaptive strategies:dynamic mitigation for dynamic LAAs,which tunes BESS parameters to enhance the system’s stability margin and accelerate convergence to equilibrium;and staticmitigation for static LAAs and FDIAs.Simulations show that the UIO achieves high detection accuracy,with residuals exceeding thresholds promptly under coordinated attacks,even in nonlinear models.Mitigation strategies reduce frequency deviations by up to 80%compared to unmitigated cases,restoring stability within seconds. 展开更多

Frequency diverse array multiple-input multiple-output(FDA-MIMO)radar has gained considerable research attention due to its ability to effectively counter active repeater deception jamming in complex electromagnetic environments.The effectiveness of interference suppression by FDA-MIMO is limited by the inherent range-angle coupling issue in the FDA beampattern.Existing literature primarily focuses on control methods for FDA-MIMO radar beam direction under the assumption of static beampatterns,with insufficient exploration of techniques for managing nonstationary beam directions.To address this gap,this paper initially introduces the FDA-MIMO signal model and the calculation formula for the FDA-MIMO array output using the minimum variance distortionless response(MVDR)beamformer.Building on this,the problem of determining the optimal frequency offset for the FDA is rephrased as a convex optimization problem,which is then resolved using the cuckoo search(CS)algorithm.Simulations confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach,showing that the frequency offsets obtained through the CS algorithm can create a dot-shaped beam direction at the target location while effectively suppressing interference signals within the mainlobe. 展开更多

Human motion modeling is a core technology in computer animation,game development,and humancomputer interaction.In particular,generating natural and coherent in-between motion using only the initial and terminal frames remains a fundamental yet unresolved challenge.Existing methods typically rely on dense keyframe inputs or complex prior structures,making it difficult to balance motion quality and plausibility under conditions such as sparse constraints,long-term dependencies,and diverse motion styles.To address this,we propose a motion generation framework based on a frequency-domain diffusion model,which aims to better model complex motion distributions and enhance generation stability under sparse conditions.Our method maps motion sequences to the frequency domain via the Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT),enabling more effective modeling of low-frequency motion structures while suppressing high-frequency noise.A denoising network based on self-attention is introduced to capture long-range temporal dependencies and improve global structural awareness.Additionally,a multi-objective loss function is employed to jointly optimize motion smoothness,pose diversity,and anatomical consistency,enhancing the realism and physical plausibility of the generated sequences.Comparative experiments on the Human3.6M and LaFAN1 datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches across multiple performance metrics,showing stronger capabilities in generating intermediate motion frames.This research offers a new perspective and methodology for human motion generation and holds promise for applications in character animation,game development,and virtual interaction. 展开更多

A RadioFrequency Quadrupole(RFQ)cooler-buncher system was developed and implemented in a collinear laser spectroscopy setup.This system converts a continuous ion beam into short bunches while enhancing the beam quality and reducing the energy spread.The functionality of the RFQ cooler buncher was verified through offline tests with stable rubidium and indium beams delivered from a surface ion source and a laser ablation ion source,respectively.Bunched ion beams with a full width at half maximum of approximately 2μs in the time-of-flight spectrum were successfully achieved with a transmission efficiency exceeding 60%.The implementation of the RFQ cooler-buncher system also significantly improved the overall transmission efficiency of the collinear laser spectroscopy setup. 展开更多

Microwave absorption(MA)materials often face poor synergy between impedance matching and attenuation in the low-frequency range.Balancing permittivity and permeability through magnetic-dielectric synergy is a promising strategy to address this issue.To realize the synergy,herein,Sn whiskers with an in situ oxide layer served as substrates for magnetic-loss-active CoNi nanosheet growth,forming a hierarchical CoNi@SnO_(2)@Sn(CNS)heterostructure.The CNS absorber achieves a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))value of-62.29 dB with an effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 2.2 GHz,covering the entire C-band with 70%absorption at only 2.61 mm thickness.The nanosheet design of CoNi enhances magnetic anisotropy to promote natural resonance,while the conductive Sn core and abundant Sn/SnO_(2) and CoNi/SnO_(2) heterointerfaces facilitate conduction loss and dielectric polarization.When composited into a thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)matrix,the resulting CNS/TPU-2 film(20 wt%CNS)exhibits an RL_(min) value of-61.04 dB and a 2.5 GHz EAB.Its in-plane and through-plane thermal conductivities reach 2.41 and 0.51 W m^(-1) K^(-1),representing 4.1 and 2.6 times those of pure TPU films,respectively,facilitating heat dissipation from protected devices.This work provides valuable insights into magnetic-dielectric synergy for low-frequency MA of 1D metal-based materials,offering promising potential for 5G communications and flexible electronics. 展开更多

An intelligent log-seismic integrated stratigraphic correlation method based on wavelet frequency-division transform and dynamic time warping:A case study from the Lasaxing oilfield

Stratigraphic correlations are essential for the fine-scale characterization of reservoirs.However,conventional data-driven methods that rely solely on log data struggle to construct isochronous stratigraphic frameworks for complex sedimentary environments and multi-source geological settings.In response,this study proposed an intelligent,automatic,log-seismic integrated stratigraphic correlation method that incorporates wavelet frequency-division transform(WFT)and dynamic time warping(DTW)(also referred to as the WFT-DTW method).This approach integrates seismic data as constraints into stratigraphic correlations,enabling accurate tracking of the seismic marker horizons through WFT.Under the constraints of framework construction,a DTW algorithm was introduced to correlate sublayer boundaries automatically.The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through a stratigraphic correlation experiment on the SA0 Formation of the Xingshugang block in the Lasaxing oilfield,the Songliao Basin,China.In this block,the target layer exhibits sublayer thicknesses ranging from 5 m to 8 m,an average sandstone thickness of 2.1 m,and pronounced heterogeneity.The verification using 1760 layers in 160 post-test wells indicates that the WFT-DTW method intelligently compared sublayers in zones with underdeveloped faults and distinct marker horizons.As a result,the posterior correlation of 1682 layers was performed,with a coincidence rate of up to 95.6%.The proposed method can complement manual correlation efforts while also providing valuable technical support for the lithologic and sand body characterization of reservoirs. 展开更多

The linear transmission impairments,such as the timing offset(TO),frequency offset(FO),and chromatic dispersion(CD),are major factors of signal degradations in coherent optical fiber communication systems.The estimation and compensation of such impairments play significant roles in the receiver side digital signal processing(DSP)unit.In this paper,we propose to combat the linear impairments systematically(including TO,FO and CD)with a joint timefrequency signal processing by taking the advantage of fractional Fourier transform(FrFT).In view of geometrical analysis,TO/FO induces a shift in time/frequency coordinate and the CD leads to the rotation in the fractional domain.Both mathematical derivations and geometrical interpretations have been established to unveil the relationships between impairments and linear frequency modulated(LFM)training symbols(TSs).By considering a typical coherent optical orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(COOFDM)transmission system,three kinds of linear impairments have been jointly estimated by simple geometric calculations using appropriately designed TS based on FrFTs.Simulation and experimental results confirmed the feasibility of time-frequency techniques with better accuracy,less complexity,and improved spectral efficiency. 展开更多

Temporal optics,which enables lossless manipulation of ultrafast pulses,offers a new dimension for the regulation of quantum optical fields.In this paper,we established a temporal Fourier transform(TF)system based on a four-wave mixing(FWM)time lens and constructed a full quantum theoretical model for the resulting temporal SU(1,1)interferometer.This interferometer has high temporal resolution,can impose interference in both time and frequency domains,and is sensitive to the phase derivative.By introducing linear time-varying phase modulation,we achieved sub-picosecond precision in temporal autocorrelation measurements and generatedan optical frequency comb with a fixed interval based on a feedback iteration mechanism.Theoretical analysis revealsthe crucial regulatory role of time-frequency coupling in quantum interference,providing novel solutions for ultrafast quantum imaging,temporal mode encoding,and the generation of optical frequency quantization. 展开更多

Recently,many Sequential Recommendation methods adopt self-attention mechanisms to model user preferences.However,these methods tend to focus more on low-frequency information while neglecting highfrequency information,which makes them ineffective in balancing users’long-and short-term preferences.At the same time,manymethods overlook the potential of frequency domainmethods,ignoring their efficiency in processing frequency information.To overcome this limitation,we shift the focus to the combination of time and frequency domains and propose a novel Hybrid Time-Frequency Dual-Branch Transformer for Sequential Recommendation,namely HyTiFRec.Specifically,we design two hybrid filter modules:the learnable hybrid filter(LHF)and the window hybrid filter(WHF).We combine these with the Efficient Attention(EA)module to form the dual-branch structure to replace the self-attention components in Transformers.The EAmodule is used to extract sequential and global information.The LHF andWHF modules balance the proportion of different frequency bands,with LHF globally modulating the spectrum in the frequency domain and WHF retaining frequency components within specific local frequency bands.Furthermore,we use a time domain residual information addition operation in the hybrid filter module,which reduces information loss and further facilitates the hybrid of time-frequency methods.Extensive experiments on five widely-used real-world datasets show that our proposed method surpasses state-of-the-art methods. 展开更多

Accurate wind speed measurements on maritime vessels are crucial for weather forecasting,sea state prediction,and safe navigation.However,vessel motion and challenging environmental conditions often affect measurement precision.To address this issue,this study proposes an innovative framework for correcting and predicting shipborne wind speed.By integrating a main network with a momentum updating network,the proposed framework effectively extracts features from the time and frequency domains,thereby allowing for precise adjustments and predictions of shipborne wind speed data.Validation using real sensor data collected at the Qingdao Oceanographic Institute demonstrates that the proposed method outperforms existing approaches in single-and multi-step predictions compared to existing methods,achieving higher accuracy in wind speed forecasting.The proposed innovative approach offers a promising direction for future validation in more realistic maritime onboard scenarios. 展开更多

The dynamics of network power response play a crucial role in system stability.However,the integration of power electronic equipment leads to amplitude and angular frequency(abbreviated as"frequency")time-varying characteristics of the node voltage during dynamic processes.As a result,traditional calcu-lation methods for and characteristics of the power response of the network based on phasor and impe-dance lose their validity.Therefore,this paper undertakes mathematical calculations to reveal the power response of a network under excitation by voltage with time-varying amplitude and frequency(TVAF),relying on the original mathematical relationships and superimposed step response.Then,the multi-timescale characteristics of both the active and reactive power of the network are explored physically.Additionally,this paper reveals a new phenomenon of storing and releasing the active and reactive power of the network.To meet practical engineering requirements,a simplified power expression is presented.Finally,the theoretical analysis is validated through time-domain simulations. 展开更多

Predicting the time-varying auto-spectral density of a spacecraft in high-altitude orbits requires an accurate model for the non-stationary random vibration signals with densely spaced modal frequency. The traditional time-varying algorithm limits prediction accuracy, thus affecting a number of operational decisions. To solve this problem, a time-varying auto regressive (TVAR) model based on the process neural network (PNN) and the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is proposed. The time-varying system is tracked on-line by establishing a time-varying parameter model, and then the relevant parameter spectrum is obtained. Firstly, the EMD method is utilized to decompose the signal into several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Then for each IMF, the PNN is established and the time-varying auto-spectral density is obtained. Finally, the time-frequency distribution of the signals can be reconstructed by linear superposition. The simulation and the analytical results from an example demonstrate that this approach possesses simplicity, effectiveness, and feasibility, as well as higher frequency resolution. 展开更多

The equation is simple and dual in form and clear in its physical meaning. The procedure of finding the solution is simplified and standardized, and it will not cause the loss of roots.
