In this work, we studied for the first time the support shape effect on the catalysis of Au nanoclusters by using CO oxidation as a model reaction. Au22(L8)6(L = 1,8-bis(diphenylphosphino) octane) nanoclusters were supported on CeO2 rods or cubes, then pretreated at different temperatures(up to 673 K), allowing the gradual removal of the organic phosphine ligands. CO oxidation test over these differently pretreated samples shows that CeO2 rods are much better supports than cubes for Au22 nanoclusters in enhancing the reaction rate. In situ IR spectroscopy coupled with CO adsorption indicates that the shape of CeO2 support can impact the nature and quantity of exposed Au sites, as well as the efficiency of organic ligand removal. Although CeO2 rods are helpful in exposing a greater percentage of total Au sites upon ligands removal, the percentage of active Au sites(denoted by Au d+, 0 〈 d 〈 1) is lower than that on CeO2 cubes. The in situ extended X-ray absorption spectroscopy(EXAFS) and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM) results show that the Au nanoclusters bound more strongly to the CeO2 rods than to the cubes where the Au nanoclusters show more sintering. Considering the typical redox mechanism for CO oxidation over supported Au nanoclusters and nanoparticles, it is concluded that the reactivity of the lattice oxygen of CeO2 is the determining factor for CO oxidation over Au22/CeO2. CeO2 rods offer more reactive lattice oxygen and abundant oxygen vacancies than the cubes and thus make the rods a superior support for Au nanoclusters in catalyzing low temperature CO oxidation.展开更多

In this study, a novel design approach that could guide the generation of exact spatial parabolic mesh configurations of such reflector was proposed. By incorporating the traditional force density method with the standard finite element method, this proposed approach had taken the deformation effects of flexible ring truss supports into consideration, and searched for the desired mesh shapes that can satisfy the requirement that all the free nodes are exactly located on the objective paraboloid. Compared with the conventional design method,a remarkable improvement of surface accuracy in the obtained mesh shapes had been demonstrated by numerical examples. The present work would provide a helpful technical reference for the mesh shape design of such cable-network antenna reflector in engineering practice.展开更多

The reaction forces of elastical supports at points are regarded as unknown external forces acting on the membranes. The exact solution of the equation of motion is given which includes terms representing the unknown reaction forces. The frequency equation is derived by the use of the linear relationship of the displacements with the reaction forces of elastical supports at points. Finally the calculating formulae of the frequency equation of circular membranes are analytically performed as examples and the inherent frequencies of circular membranes with symmetric elastical supports at two points are numerically calculated.展开更多

The neutron detector is an EJ-299-33 plastic scintillator with pulse-shape discrimination(PSD) property. The SVM algorithm is implemented in field programmable gate array(FPGA) to carry out the real-time sifting of neutrons in neutron-gamma mixed radiation fields. This study compares the ability of the pulse gradient analysis method and the SVM method. The results show that this SVM discriminator can provide a better discrimination accuracy of 99.1%. The accuracy and performance of the SVM discriminator based on FPGA have been evaluated in the experiments. It can get a figure of merit of 1.30.展开更多

Three geometric parameters, including hole length, lateral expansion angle and forward expansion angle, were selected as the design parameters. Numerical model of the film cooling system was established, validated, and used to generate 32 groups of training samples. Least square support vector machine(LS-SVM) was applied for surrogate model, and the optimal design parameters were determined by a kind of chaotic optimization algorithm. As hole length, lateral expansion angle and forward expansion angle are 90 mm, 20° and 5°, the area-averaged film cooling effectiveness can reach its maximum value in the design space. LS-SVM coupled with chaotic optimization algorithm is a promising scheme for the optimization of shaped film cooling holes.展开更多
