Traditional mineral oil has long served as a liquid insulating medium in power transformers.However,its low fire resistance,poor biodegradability and dependence on finite fossil fuel resources,along with its low flash...Traditional mineral oil has long served as a liquid insulating medium in power transformers.However,its low fire resistance,poor biodegradability and dependence on finite fossil fuel resources,along with its low flash point,contribute to transformer explosions and fires.To overcome these limitations,developing insulating liquids with high flash points and self-extinguishing properties is essential.Although natural ester-based insulating oils and silicone oils have been proposed as alternatives,their performance requires further optimisation,and their application in transformers remains challenging.This study examines the combustion characteristics of three novel self-extinguishing fluorinated silicone oils using combustion experiments and reactive molecular dynamics simulations.The results demonstrate that methylfluorinated and hydrofluorinated silicone oils exhibit superior self-extinguishing performance compared to mineral oil and natural ester-based insulating oils.Simulation analyses indicate that fluorinated silicone oils generate silicon-oxygen polymers upon ignition,which influence subsequent chain reactions.However,hydroxyfluorinated silicone oil releases a higher concentration of key free radicals,intensifying chain reactions and diminishing its self-extinguishing capability.As a result,its self-extinguishing performance is significantly weaker than that of methylfluorinated and hydrofluorinated silicone oils.These findings provide valuable insights for the development of advanced liquid insulating media as potential replacements for mineral oil.展开更多
Second language(L2)motivation has been a topic which receives intensive attention.However,the peer effect on L2 motivation is insufficiently researched,although it is considered a crucial factor which may significantl...Second language(L2)motivation has been a topic which receives intensive attention.However,the peer effect on L2 motivation is insufficiently researched,although it is considered a crucial factor which may significantly mediate learners’L2 motivation.Hence,the current study adopted Dörnyei’s L2 Motivational Self System(L2MSS)as a theoretical framework and investigated in which specific aspects peers might affect the learners’L2 motivation and whether such effect was long-lasting.The research was designed as a small-scale qualitative study which was located in a language-focused experimental class project in China.Ten participants were recruited and individual interviews were conducted.The results demonstrated that,first,peers could remarkably influence the L2 motivation possessed by the students in the experimental class since they tended to create a clearer ideal L2 self and a more powerful ought-to L2 self.Second,although they had both positive and negative views towards the curriculum,a motivated peer climate could alleviate the pressure caused by the curriculum and reinforce positive attitudes.Third,such peer effect was not long-lasting.Based on the research results,pedagogical implications were proposed in terms of establishing a positive peer group and adjusting the emphasis of the curriculum.展开更多

An improved cycle-consistent generative adversarial network(CycleGAN) method for defect data augmentation based on feature fusion and self attention residual module is proposed to address the insufficiency of defect s...An improved cycle-consistent generative adversarial network(CycleGAN) method for defect data augmentation based on feature fusion and self attention residual module is proposed to address the insufficiency of defect sample data for light guide plate(LGP) in production,as well as the problem of minor defects.Two optimizations are made to the generator of CycleGAN:fusion of low resolution features obtained from partial up-sampling and down-sampling with high-resolution features,combination of self attention mechanism with residual network structure to replace the original residual module.Qualitative and quantitative experiments were conducted to compare different data augmentation methods,and the results show that the defect images of the LGP generated by the improved network were more realistic,and the accuracy of the you only look once version 5(YOLOv5) detection network for the LGP was improved by 5.6%,proving the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method.展开更多

In the L2 Motivational Self System(L2MSS),visualizing the ideal self such as describing goals and wishes is crucial.When people find a huge gap between ideal and reality,they could become demotivated.There have been s...In the L2 Motivational Self System(L2MSS),visualizing the ideal self such as describing goals and wishes is crucial.When people find a huge gap between ideal and reality,they could become demotivated.There have been several studies on the L2MSS;however,these studies have not extensively investigated how the gap influences people.This study examined the influences of this gap with Japanese teachers of English(JTEs).The participants were four full-time JTEs from Japanese secondary schools.During one academic year,semi-structured interviews were conducted.The findings showed that each participant illustrated a clear idea of what they would like to do and also experienced a reality gap.As they could not find a way to close the gap,many seemed to feel demotivated and frustrated.The study revealed that merely depicting an ideal situation is not enough,and it is important to depict one appropriately.展开更多
