Maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis is critical for preserving chondrocyte physiological conditions and increasing resistance against osteoarthritis(OA).However,the underlying mechanisms governing mitochondrial self...Maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis is critical for preserving chondrocyte physiological conditions and increasing resistance against osteoarthritis(OA).However,the underlying mechanisms governing mitochondrial self-renewal and energy production remain elusive.In this study,we demonstrated mitochondrial damage and aberrant mitophagy in OA chondrocytes.Genetically overexpressing PTEN-induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)protects against cartilage degeneration by removing defective mitochondria.PINK1 knockout aggravated cartilage damage due to impaired mitophagy.SIRT3 directly deacetylated PINK1 to promote mitophagy and cartilage anabolism.Specifically,PINK1 phosphorylated PKM2 at the Ser127 site,preserving its active tetrameric form.This inhibited nuclear translocation and the interaction withβ-catenin,resulting in a metabolic shift and increased energy production.Finally,a double-knockout mouse model demonstrated the role of the SIRT3-PINK1-PKM2 axis in safeguarding the structural integrity of articular joints and improving motor functions.Overall,this study provides a novel insight into the regulation of mitochondrial renewal and metabolic switches in OA.展开更多

The increasing incidence of global warming and frequent heavy precipitation events presents a significant challenge for urban areas in managing extreme precipitation.Strengthening the resilience of communities to clim...The increasing incidence of global warming and frequent heavy precipitation events presents a significant challenge for urban areas in managing extreme precipitation.Strengthening the resilience of communities to climate change is a crucial strategy for fostering sustainable urban development.Green infrastructure offers an ecologically system for rainwater management and ecological restoration,and plays a significant role in adapting to climate risks.This study focuses on climate resilience by examining the implementation of green rainwater infrastructure within the context of climate-adapted green infrastructure in the High Point community of Seattle,USA,and proposes renewal planning strategies,methods,and implementation concepts at the community level.The research indicates that the High Point community has effectively mitigated the issue of waterlogging and enhanced the local microclimate through the implementation of green infrastructure systems,including permeable pavement,rain gardens,bioretention pools,and vegetative buffer zones.It is proposed that the collaborative design of green infrastructure should adhere to principles of systematization,alignment with natural processes,adaptation to the local environment,and engagement of multiple stakeholders,while considering various functions,diverse communities,and differing social contexts.Furthermore,it should be developed in consideration of the unique spatial characteristics,landscape structures,and social needs of each community.展开更多
Local strong seismic activity shows the potential to closely follow a renewal process,which is inconsistent with the overall seismic activity that aligns with the Poisson process.Given that existing methods for synthe...Local strong seismic activity shows the potential to closely follow a renewal process,which is inconsistent with the overall seismic activity that aligns with the Poisson process.Given that existing methods for synthesizing stochastic seismic event sets cannot control local seismic activity,a method based on Monte Carlo simulations has been developed for synthesizing random seismic event sets where local strong earthquakes satisfy the renewal process.This method can synthesize seismic activities in a statistical area where the overall activity conforms to the Poisson process and the major seismic activities in local potential sources or faults follow the renewal process.This paper presents long-and short-scale approaches.The long-scale earthquake catalogs are suitable for reflecting the sequential characteristics of seismic activities.Meanwhile,the short-scale catalogs focus on the impacts of specific earthquake events within a group for a detailed understanding of hazards under certain conditions,making them suitable for studies on specific earthquake sequences and geological areas or situations requiring high temporal resolution.In the applications of shortscale sequences,we find that the equivalent occurrence rate method may overestimate the seismic hazard.This synthesis method for earthquake catalogs can simulate realistic seismic activities,thereby enhancing the accuracy of hazard analysis results and is suitable for seismic hazard analysis and earthquake insurance rate setting.展开更多
Aiming at solving the problems existing in the landscape planning of waterfront areas in Yichang City,such as the contradiction of traffic organization,the waste of historical space resources and the insufficient util...Aiming at solving the problems existing in the landscape planning of waterfront areas in Yichang City,such as the contradiction of traffic organization,the waste of historical space resources and the insufficient utilization of hydrological characteristics,systematic renewal strategies were proposed.Through empirical research and spatial behavioral analysis,a renewal paradigm of“ecological restoration-cultural inheritance-spatial creation”was constructed according to topographic texture and hydrological characteristics.The innovation lies in proposing a renewal model of vertical corridors that integrates“transportation,ecology and landscape”,as well as a three-dimensional transportation scheme for separating pedestrians and vehicles based on the theory of alleviating spatial ownership contradictions.This study provides a technical path for improving the functions of high-density urban waterfront areas and optimizing their spatial efficiency,and has a practical value for enhancing citizens’water-friendly experiences and promoting cultural and tourism economy.展开更多

China is already in the second half of the urbanization process,which means that the urbanization path in China needs to shift from“large-scale expansion development”in the past to“comprehensive and refined operat...China is already in the second half of the urbanization process,which means that the urbanization path in China needs to shift from“large-scale expansion development”in the past to“comprehensive and refined operation”.To explore how to efficiently carry out urban renewal work,from the perspective of urban renewal efficiency,the first batch of pilot cities for urban renewal released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in 2021 are selected as the objects.And the SBM model and Malmquist index are used to calculate and analyze their urban renewal efficiency.The results indicate that among the 20 pilot cities,Beijing,Tangshan,Suzhou,Tongling,and Jingdezhen are of high grade,and Hohhot,Xiamen,Huangshi,and Yinchuan are of medium grade,while the rest of the cities are of low grade.The regression results of the Tobit model indicate that population density,real estate investment,and regional economic development level are the main influencing factors of urban renewal.Finally,constructive suggestions are proposed for urban renewal from four aspects:concept,technology,real estate,and policy.展开更多

In the absence of feeder cell--derived factors, hES cells cultured under a feeder-fre...We previously showed that Wnt3a could stimulate human embryonic stem (hES) cell proliferation and affect cell fate determination. In the absence of feeder cell--derived factors, hES cells cultured under a feeder-free condition survived and proliferated poorly. Adding recombinant Wnt3a in the absence of feeder cell derived-factors stimulated hES cell proliferation but also differentiation. In the present study, we further extended our analysis to other Wnt ligands such as Wntl and Wnt5a. While Wntl displayed a similar effect on hES cells as Wnt3a, Wnt5a had little effect in this system. Wnt3a and Wntl enhanced proliferation of undifferentiated hES cells when feeder-derived self-renewal factors and bFGF are also present. To explore the possibility to promote the proliferation of undifferentiated hES cells by activating the Wnt signaling, we overexpressed Wnt3a or Wntl gene in immortalized human adult fibroblast (HAFi) cells that are superior in supporting long-term growth of undifferentiated hES cells than primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts. HAFi cells with or without a Wnt tmnsgene can be propagated indefinitely. Over-expression of the Wnt3a gene significantly enhanced the ability of HAFi feeder cells to support the undifferentiated growth of 3 different hES cell lines we tested. Co-expression of three commonly-used drug selection genes in Wnt3a-overpressing HAFi cells further enabled us to select rare hES clones after stable transfection or transduction. These immortalized engineered feeder cells (W3R) that co-express growth-promoting genes such as Wnt3a and three drug selection genes should empower us to efficiently make genetic modified hES cell lines for basic and translational research.展开更多

The system of aniline + D2 EHPA in kerosene + HCl was used. Aqueous layer diffusion in the feed phase is the rate-control step, and the influence of lumen side flow rate on the mass transfer is more significant than that on the shell side. The resistance of overall mass transfer is greatly reduced because of the mass transfer intensification in the renewal of liquid membrane on the lumen side. The driving force of mass transfer can be considered as a function of distribution equilibrium, and the overall mass transfer coefficient increases with the increase of p H in the feed solution, HCl concentration and D2 EHPA concentration, and decreases with the increase of initial aniline concentration. A mass transfer model is developed for HFRLM based on the surface renewal theory. The calculated results agree well with experimental results. The HFRLM process is a promising method for aniline wastewater treatment.展开更多

文摘Local strong seismic activity shows the potential to closely follow a renewal process,which is inconsistent with the overall seismic activity that aligns with the Poisson process.Given that existing methods for synthesizing stochastic seismic event sets cannot control local seismic activity,a method based on Monte Carlo simulations has been developed for synthesizing random seismic event sets where local strong earthquakes satisfy the renewal process.This method can synthesize seismic activities in a statistical area where the overall activity conforms to the Poisson process and the major seismic activities in local potential sources or faults follow the renewal process.This paper presents long-and short-scale approaches.The long-scale earthquake catalogs are suitable for reflecting the sequential characteristics of seismic activities.Meanwhile,the short-scale catalogs focus on the impacts of specific earthquake events within a group for a detailed understanding of hazards under certain conditions,making them suitable for studies on specific earthquake sequences and geological areas or situations requiring high temporal resolution.In the applications of shortscale sequences,we find that the equivalent occurrence rate method may overestimate the seismic hazard.This synthesis method for earthquake catalogs can simulate realistic seismic activities,thereby enhancing the accuracy of hazard analysis results and is suitable for seismic hazard analysis and earthquake insurance rate setting.
文摘Aiming at solving the problems existing in the landscape planning of waterfront areas in Yichang City,such as the contradiction of traffic organization,the waste of historical space resources and the insufficient utilization of hydrological characteristics,systematic renewal strategies were proposed.Through empirical research and spatial behavioral analysis,a renewal paradigm of“ecological restoration-cultural inheritance-spatial creation”was constructed according to topographic texture and hydrological characteristics.The innovation lies in proposing a renewal model of vertical corridors that integrates“transportation,ecology and landscape”,as well as a three-dimensional transportation scheme for separating pedestrians and vehicles based on the theory of alleviating spatial ownership contradictions.This study provides a technical path for improving the functions of high-density urban waterfront areas and optimizing their spatial efficiency,and has a practical value for enhancing citizens’water-friendly experiences and promoting cultural and tourism economy.
文摘In the context of rapid urbanization,cities must leverage their unique advantages to enhance their competitiveness.It has become a prevalent practice to integrate Chinese cultural elements into a city’s brand identity,as well as to transform and elevate the existing landscape.This paper examines the landscape evolution of Nanchang Bayi Park(Baihuazhou)and the associated measures for its transformation and enhancement.The findings indicate that,from the perspective of urban visual art,these transformations significantly enhance the city’s aesthetic perception and more effectively address the needs of people.Consequently,this contributes to the ongoing improvement and development of the city’s brand image.By modifying the urban structure,enhancing the urban environment,upgrading infrastructure,and elevating the cultural levels within urban areas,the objective of transforming and upgrading urban landscapes can be realized.
文摘Looking back upon the history of world development,although cities in various regions have all gone through different historical development stages in the process of urbanization,all urbanization will also go through the process of“construction-development-decline-renewal”.Against this backdrop,the original material conditions of traditional districts have disintegrated,and their original development characteristics have significantly weakened.Historical blocks have gradually declined,and are unable to return to their optimal positions through self-management.Thus,the brand-new model of“urban acupuncture”emerged against this backdrop.It stimulates the creativity of urban residents through small-scale political participation and promotes the recovery of their vitality with more flexible and effective development policies.It is a milder way of urbanization transformation than development and reorganization.In this study,“urban acupuncture”was as the research starting point,and the protection and renewal of historical blocks at home and abroad were studied to guide the healthy and orderly development of historical blocks.
文摘Concept of urban renewal was elaborated,which for the protection of historic and cultural heritage not only provides a favorable opportunity of integrating neighboring environment and improving protection conditions,but also imposes threats such as destroying its historic images and patterns,degrading of survival environment.To properly protect historic and cultural heritage in the unceasing urban renewal,and make it a significant resource and feature of the city but not a barrier of urban development,empirical analysis and theoretical research were adopted to analyze and study current conditions and problems of the protection of historic and cultural heritage in Xi'an City from the dimension of urban renewal concept and present urban renewal of Xi'an.Moreover,through summarizing successful experience of other regions,specific strategies were given to protect historic and cultural heritage of Xi'an City in its urban renewal more scientifically and reasonably.

文摘China is already in the second half of the urbanization process,which means that the urbanization path in China needs to shift from“large-scale expansion development”in the past to“comprehensive and refined operation”.To explore how to efficiently carry out urban renewal work,from the perspective of urban renewal efficiency,the first batch of pilot cities for urban renewal released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development in 2021 are selected as the objects.And the SBM model and Malmquist index are used to calculate and analyze their urban renewal efficiency.The results indicate that among the 20 pilot cities,Beijing,Tangshan,Suzhou,Tongling,and Jingdezhen are of high grade,and Hohhot,Xiamen,Huangshi,and Yinchuan are of medium grade,while the rest of the cities are of low grade.The regression results of the Tobit model indicate that population density,real estate investment,and regional economic development level are the main influencing factors of urban renewal.Finally,constructive suggestions are proposed for urban renewal from four aspects:concept,technology,real estate,and policy.

Shenyang city gradually appeared the renewal of shengjing Imperial City area, hongmei Cultural Innovation Park, Fengtian Memory cultural Innovation Park, Liu Hongdian Museum and other bright renovation projects practice and exploration. In the process of exploration, corresponding solutions are put forward for the absence of government and market responsibilities, insufficient supporting system, insufficient renewal funds, coordination of multiple property rights subjects and other problems.

文摘Based on the Danckwerts surface renewal model, a simple explicit expression of the enhancement factor in ozone absorption with a first order ozone self-decomposition and parallel second order ozonation reactions has been derived. The results are compared with our previous work based on the film theory. The 2,4-dichlorophenol destruction rate by ozonation is predicted using the enhancement factor model in this paper.
文摘We previously showed that Wnt3a could stimulate human embryonic stem (hES) cell proliferation and affect cell fate determination. In the absence of feeder cell--derived factors, hES cells cultured under a feeder-free condition survived and proliferated poorly. Adding recombinant Wnt3a in the absence of feeder cell derived-factors stimulated hES cell proliferation but also differentiation. In the present study, we further extended our analysis to other Wnt ligands such as Wntl and Wnt5a. While Wntl displayed a similar effect on hES cells as Wnt3a, Wnt5a had little effect in this system. Wnt3a and Wntl enhanced proliferation of undifferentiated hES cells when feeder-derived self-renewal factors and bFGF are also present. To explore the possibility to promote the proliferation of undifferentiated hES cells by activating the Wnt signaling, we overexpressed Wnt3a or Wntl gene in immortalized human adult fibroblast (HAFi) cells that are superior in supporting long-term growth of undifferentiated hES cells than primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts. HAFi cells with or without a Wnt tmnsgene can be propagated indefinitely. Over-expression of the Wnt3a gene significantly enhanced the ability of HAFi feeder cells to support the undifferentiated growth of 3 different hES cell lines we tested. Co-expression of three commonly-used drug selection genes in Wnt3a-overpressing HAFi cells further enabled us to select rare hES clones after stable transfection or transduction. These immortalized engineered feeder cells (W3R) that co-express growth-promoting genes such as Wnt3a and three drug selection genes should empower us to efficiently make genetic modified hES cell lines for basic and translational research.

文摘Hollow fiber renewal liquid membrane(HFRLM) method was proposed based on the surface renewal theory for removal of aniline from waste water. The system of aniline + D2 EHPA in kerosene + HCl was used. Aqueous layer diffusion in the feed phase is the rate-control step, and the influence of lumen side flow rate on the mass transfer is more significant than that on the shell side. The resistance of overall mass transfer is greatly reduced because of the mass transfer intensification in the renewal of liquid membrane on the lumen side. The driving force of mass transfer can be considered as a function of distribution equilibrium, and the overall mass transfer coefficient increases with the increase of p H in the feed solution, HCl concentration and D2 EHPA concentration, and decreases with the increase of initial aniline concentration. A mass transfer model is developed for HFRLM based on the surface renewal theory. The calculated results agree well with experimental results. The HFRLM process is a promising method for aniline wastewater treatment.

文摘The Nd(III)extraction in flat renewal supported liquid membrane(FRSLM),with polyvinylidene fluoride membrane and renewal solution including HNO3 solution as the stripping solution and di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid(D2EHPA)dissolved in kerosene as the membrane solution,was investigated.The effects of pH in the feed phase,volume ratio of membrane solution to stripping solution,concentra-tion of HNO3 solution and concentration of carrier in the renewal phase on extraction of Nd(III)were also studied,respectively.As a result,the optimum extraction conditions of Nd(III)were obtained when concentration of HNO3 solution was 4.00 mol/L,concentration of D2EHPA was 0.100 mol/L,and volume ratio of membrane solution to stripping solution was 1.00 in the renewal phase,and pH was 4.60 in the feed phase.When initial concentration of Nd(III)was 2.00×10-4 mol/L,the extraction percentage of Nd(III)was up to 92.9%in 75 min.

We establish the renewal theorem for the Markov chain of "the environment viewed from the particle" in both annealed probability and quenched probability, which generalize partially the results of Kesten (1977) and Lalley (1986) for the nearest random walk in random environment on Z, respectively. Our method is based on (L, 1)-RWRE formulated in Hong and Wang the intrinsic branching structure within the (2013).
