[Objectives]To investigate the therapeutic effects of combined treatment on children diagnosed with pseudomyopia,based on the theoretical framework that the liver is associated with eye health in traditional Chinese m...[Objectives]To investigate the therapeutic effects of combined treatment on children diagnosed with pseudomyopia,based on the theoretical framework that the liver is associated with eye health in traditional Chinese medicine.[Methods]A multicenter randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 100 children,with the treatment group consisting of 50 participants receiving a combined treatment,while the control group,also comprising 50 participants,received conventional tuina.In the treatment group,the Yizhichan Pushing Manipulation was applied at a frequency of 120 times/min and a strength of 0.5-1.0 kg,targeting acupoints such as Ganyu and Guangming.The alterations in naked eye visual acuity,diopter measurements,and ciliary muscle regulation function were compared between the two groups of children both prior to and following treatment,and the clinical efficacy was assessed.[Results]The treatment group demonstrated a statistically significant enhancement in visual acuity(1.74±0.49 lines vs.1.02±0.52 lines),diopter improvement(0.91±0.29 D vs.0.46±0.25 D),and overall efficiency(96%vs.78%)when compared to the control group(all P<0.01).[Conclusions]This combined treatment exerts a therapeutic effect through a dual mechanism that involves the regulation of liver meridian qi and blood,as well as the enhancement of ciliary muscle function.This approach merits further dissemination and application in the prevention and management of myopia in children.展开更多
Higher education is transitioning from mass expansion to high-quality development.In this process,mental health issues among college students have become increasingly prominent,encompassing not only academic stress-in...Higher education is transitioning from mass expansion to high-quality development.In this process,mental health issues among college students have become increasingly prominent,encompassing not only academic stress-induced anxiety but also complex challenges such as interpersonal adaptation difficulties and career planning confusion.Traditional“problem-oriented”intervention models have shown limitations in responsiveness and adaptability,often only passively addressing existing psychological crises rather than preventing them in advance.This study aims to explore an AI-powered“positive psychology”proactive intervention model through developing an intelligent system.The system automatically collects,filters,and personalizes recommendations for positive activities on campus.Using a randomized controlled trial design,we conducted an 8-week intervention study involving 126 college students at a university.The study found that AI-based“campus positive activity”recommendations effectively boost students’positive emotions and promote psychological capital development through cumulative micro-interventions.This provides universities with empirical evidence and innovative methods to implement low-cost,efficient,and scalable mental health promotion programs through smart technology.展开更多
Purpose–MxV Rail conducted multiple single tie push tests(STPTs)between 2020 and 2023 to assess the changes in lateral tie resistance from tonnage accumulation,dynamic track stabilizers(DTS),tie type and ballast cond...Purpose–MxV Rail conducted multiple single tie push tests(STPTs)between 2020 and 2023 to assess the changes in lateral tie resistance from tonnage accumulation,dynamic track stabilizers(DTS),tie type and ballast condition.High lateral tie resistance is necessary for preventing lateral misalignments and track buckles.Therefore,understanding how various factors affect the lateral tie resistance will aid in the development of track buckling risk assessments and ballast maintenance best practices.Design/methodology/approach–The test involved tamping a section of track that consisted of both concrete and wood ties and then increasing the lateral tie resistance,using either tonnage during speed restrictions or a DTS.The STPTs and top-of-rail(TOR)elevation measurements were taken at multiple stages,including immediately after tamping and then after different tonnage increments or DTS.The results from this test were then added to a compiled measurement from previous tests,and the results from all the tests were used to develop general guidelines for ballast maintenance best practices and trade-off considerations.Findings–The results showed multiple factors affect the lateral track strength and therefore the susceptibility to misalignments and track buckles.The disturbance from ballast tamping can reduce the lateral track strength by 20–80%(∼45%median)and can be compacted from either tonnage(25–50%regain in strength after 0.1 m gross ton or MGT)or DTS(33–78%regain in strength).The amount of ballast(shoulder width and crib height),tie type and ballast characteristics all have a meaningful role in lateral track strength.Originality/value–This paper is based on the testing programs conducted by authors at MxV Rail.展开更多

Through the analysis of forces acted on the particle in front of the solid/liquid interface the critical velocity criterion for the particles pushing was given. Confining stresses serve as a pivotal determinant in shaping the behavior of grouted rock bolts.Nonetheless,prior investigations have oversimplified the three-dimensional stress state,primarily assuming hydrostatic st...Confining stresses serve as a pivotal determinant in shaping the behavior of grouted rock bolts.Nonetheless,prior investigations have oversimplified the three-dimensional stress state,primarily assuming hydrostatic stress conditions.Under these conditions,it is assumed that the intermediate principal stress(σ_(2))equals the minimum principal stress(σ_(3)).This assumption overlooks the potential variations in magnitudes of in situ stress conditions along all three directions near an underground opening where a rock bolt is installed.In this study,a series of push tests was meticulously conducted under triaxial conditions.These tests involved applying non-uniform confining stresses(σ_(2)≠σ_(3))to cubic specimens,aiming to unveil the previously overlooked influence of intermediate principal stresses on the strength properties of rock bolts.The results show that as the confining stresses increase from zero to higher levels,the pre-failure behavior changes from linear to nonlinear forms,resulting in an increase in initial stiffness from 2.08 kN/mm to 32.51 kN/mm.The load-displacement curves further illuminate distinct post-failure behavior at elevated levels of confining stresses,characterized by enhanced stiffness.Notably,the peak load capacity ranged from 27.9 kN to 46.5 kN as confining stresses advanced from σ_(2)=σ_(3)=0 to σ_(2)=20 MPa and σ_(3)=10 MPa.Additionally,the outcomes highlight an influence of confining stress on the lateral deformation of samples.Lower levels of confinement prompt overall dilation in lateral deformation,while higher confinements maintain a state of shrinkage.Furthermore,diverse failure modes have been identified,intricately tied to the arrangement of confining stresses.Lower confinements tend to induce a splitting mode of failure,whereas higher loads bring about a shift towards a pure interfacial shear-off and shear-crushed failure mechanism.展开更多
Afterburning behind the detonation front of an aluminized explosive releases energy on the millisecond timescale,which prolong the release of detonation energy and the energy release at different stages also shows sig...Afterburning behind the detonation front of an aluminized explosive releases energy on the millisecond timescale,which prolong the release of detonation energy and the energy release at different stages also shows significant differences.However,at present,there are few effective methods for evaluating the energy release characteristics of the middle reaction stage of such explosives,which can have a duration of tens to hundreds of microseconds.The present work demonstrates an approach to assessing the midstage of an aluminized explosive detonation based on a water push test employing a high degree of confinement.In this method,the explosive is contained in a steel cylinder having one end closed that is installed at the bottom of a transparent water tank.Upon detonation,the gaseous products expand in one direction while forcing water ahead of them.The resulting underwater shock wave and the interface between the gas phase products and the water are tracked using an ultra-high-speed framing and streak camera.The shock wave velocity in water and the expansion work performed by the gaseous detonation products were calculated to assess the energy release characteristics of aluminized explosives such as CL-20 and RDX in the middle stage of the detonation reaction.During the middle stage of the detonation process of these aluminized explosives,the aluminum reaction reduced the attenuation of shock waves and increased the work performed by gas phase products.A higher aluminum content increased the energy output while the presence of oxidants slowed the energy release rate.This work demonstrates an effective means of evaluating the performance of aluminized explosives.展开更多
