A dual transponder carrier ranging method can be used to measure inter-satellite distance with high precision by combining the reference and the to-and-fro measurements. Based on the differential techniques, the oscillator phase noise, which is the main error source for microwave ranging systems, can be significantly attenuated. Further, since the range measurements are derived on the same satellite, the dual transponder ranging system does not need a time tagging system to synchronize the two satellites. In view of the lack of oscillator noise analysis on the dual transponder ranging model, a comprehensive analysis of oscillator noise effects on ranging accuracy is provided. First, the dual transponder ranging system is described with emphasis on the detailed analysis of oscillator noise on measurement precision. Then, a high-fidelity numerical simulation approach based on the power spectrum density of an actual ultra-stable oscillator is carried out in both frequency domain and time domain to support the presented theoretical analysis. The simulation results under different conditions are consistent with the proposed concepts, which makes the results reliable. Besides, the results demonstrate that a high level of accuracy can be achieved by using this oscillator noise cancelation-oriented ranging method. 展开更多

Optical phase transfer via fiber optics is the most effective method for optical frequency standard comparison on the scale below thousands of kilometers.However,the monotonic phase discrimination range of conventional optical phase-locked loops is limited,and link delays restrict the control bandwidth,which makes it a challenge to achieve a continuously reliable optical link.This paper presents an event-timing-based phase detection method that overcomes the monotonic phase discrimination range limitation of conventional phase-locked loops through dual-edge timestamp recording,achieving an optical phase measurement resolution on the order of 10 attoseconds.With such a technique,we established a 7-segment-cascaded optical link over 1402km of commercial fiber while sharing dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM)channels with live telecom traffic.The system maintained continuous operation for 11.7 days without phase cycle slips despite encountering 15 km aerial fiber noise up to 21000 rad^(2)·Hz^(−1)·km^(−1)at 1 Hz.Relative instabilities of the link are 3.7×10^(−15)at 1 s and 3.9×10^(−20)at 100000 s. 展开更多

To implement the multi-way phase shifting maintaining the compact size and simplicity in structure,the uniform reference line concept was proposed for the differential phase shifter.However,the performance in bandwidth and phase range deteriorates with the additional requirements considered.To solve this problem,a quarter wavelength coupled line section loaded with open/short stubs is proposed as the basic element to implement the main line and also reference line.According to the theoretical analysis on this basic element,the loading stubs can be used to control the phase shift and also the phase slope of the basic element without affecting the amplitude property.With the predetermined parameters of the uniform reference line,only two parameters are required for the implementation of different differential phase shifts.This demonstrates the high simplicity of the proposed structure.For demonstration,an eight-way differential phase shifter operating at 3.5 GHz was implemented using the vertically installed planar structure.The prototype was further fabricated and measured.Good agreement between simulation and measurement can be observed.The implemented phase shifter can provide a wide range of phase shifting values from 45°to 315°with reference to the uniform reference line over a relative bandwidth of 62.3%. 展开更多

High-resolution shallow structures of the Red River fault zone in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau of China revealed by multiple seismic dense linear arrays

The complex Red River fault zone(RRFZ),which is situated in the southwestern region of China and separates the Indochina plate and South China blocks,has diverse seismic activities in different segments.To reveal the detailed geometric characteristics of the RRFZ at different sections and to better understand the seismogenic environment,in 2022 and 2023 we deployed 7 seismic dense linear arrays,consisting of 574 nodal stations,across the RRFZ in the northern and southern segments near the towns Midu,Gasa,Zhega,Dazhai,Xinzhai,and Taoyuan.The linear arrays,which extend from 2.4 to 12.5 km in length with station intervals ranging between 40 and140 m,recorded seismic ambient noise for approximately one month.Using the extended range phase shift method,we extract the phase velocity dispersion curves of the Rayleigh waves between 0.9 and 10 Hz,which are then used to invert for the high resolution shearwave velocity structures across the RRFZ beneath the linear arrays.The key findings are:(1)the 7 imaged sections of the RRFZ exhibit quite similar structures,with higher velocities on the SW side and lower velocities on the NE side;the velocity variation is consistent with the surface geological structures along the RRFZ;(2)the shear-wave velocities on the SW side of the RRFZ at the northern Midu section and southern Gasa-Dazhai sections are generally higher than their counterparts in the southern Xinzhai-Taoyuan sections,which reflects lithological variations from the marble-dominated Paleoproterozoic Along basement to the gneiss dominated Paleoproterozoic Qingshuihe basement;(3)from the northern Midu section to the southern region where the RRFZ intersects with the Xiaojiang Fault,the major faults of the RRFZ exhibit a consistent high-angle,NE-dipping structure;(4)the low shear-wave velocities immediately to the NE of the velocity boundary may indicate a faulted zone due to long-term shearing,where excessive amplifications of ground motions could occur.This study provides new insights into the characteristics of the shallow structures of the RRFZ. 展开更多

Auto anti-collision technology is one of the main research subjects of automobiles’ safety technology. Aiming at the key technology of Auto anti-collision, measuring the distance from obstacles, based on the theory of phase laser distance ranging, Laser Diode (LD) distance-measuring system for auto anti-collision has been developed to solve the problem of on-line measuring distance technology in middle to long distance utilizing the good characteristics of LD when modulating its optical intensity and adopting typical kinds of filter techniques in this paper. By theoretical analysis, adopting typical kinds of filter techniques can reduce the interference of strong light, so distance-measuring range can be 0.5–100 m in daytime or 1–200 m at night. And more, from theoretical analysis and experiment result, it can guarantee the high measuring resolution which can be less than 24.5 mm, utilizing the method of two Laser Diode optical intensity modulating wavelength and complimenting precise calibration and revision. The idea of LD distance-measuring technology is novel and feasible and this technology can be applied in Auto anti-collision. The study of temperature-driven phase transitions is significant in phosphate chemistry,as these transitions often lead to unique physical properties for specific applications,such as catalysis,energy storage,ion conduction,and nonlinear optics[1–3].The phase transition from room temperature(RT)to high temperature(HT)in phosphates is always from periodic structures to disordered or amorphous states[4–8].At RT,phosphates often maintain a highly ordered crystalline structure,which is stabilized by the lower thermal energy.As the temperature increases,the thermal energy disrupts the periodic arrangement of atoms and leads to a phase transition,where the once ordered structure becomes increasingly disordered or even amorphous. 展开更多
