Background:Based on a profound awareness of crisis sense,Huai Nan-zi warns people of the importance of being prepared for danger in times of peace by using the principle that Heaven and Earth are ever-changing and nev...Background:Based on a profound awareness of crisis sense,Huai Nan-zi warns people of the importance of being prepared for danger in times of peace by using the principle that Heaven and Earth are ever-changing and never-ending.It also consciously constructs a cosmic life view of the organic,homologous,isomorphic,and harmonious unity of heaven,earth,and man based on human existence and destiny with a rational thinking attitude.The life philosophy of the Huai Nan-zi offers modern people a completely new holistic view of life and medicine.Not only in China,but also in Western countries,studying its medical philosophical ideas helps us better explore the theoretical roots of TCM in the era of globalized medicine.Methods:This paper mainly uses the analysis method of literature review and chinese philosophy intellectual concepts.It employs the I Ching’s image-number logic thinking method to compare images through analogy and the holistic thinking method of the three-talent view of heaven,earth,and human to understand life consciousness.Results:This article mainly interprets medical philosophy in Huai Nan-zi through three aspects:1)The body of Taoism:heaven,earth,and humanity constitute one unity within the body of the universe;2)The spirit of Taoism:keeping the spirit inward,preserving the essence and suppressing the superficial;and 3)The mind of Taoism:the principle of life governed by the dynamics of gain and loss,prosperity and decline.Conclusion:The philosophy of life presented in the Huai Nan-zi ultimately charts a course toward a state of profound theoretical integration.Its“conscious map”does not lead to a fixed destination,but to a continuous and dynamic mode of being–a life of flourishing known in Chinese as yang sheng,the nurturing of life.The destination,therefore,is the journey itself,undertaken with unwavering cosmic awareness and harmony.This ancient text reminds us that a truly healthy life is not a fragmented pursuit of physical fitness,mental peace,or spiritual insight in isolation.Instead,it is the symphony of all three(Taoist body,spirit,and mind),orchestrated by the fundamental principles of the cosmos.By aligning our inner nature with the outer Tao,we transform our existence from a series of reactive struggles into a graceful and spontaneous free flow.In a modern world characterized by fragmentation,overstimulation,and a relentless push against natural rhythms,the Huai Nan-zi’s life consciousness map is more relevant than ever.The philosophy of Huai Nan-zi not only plays a vital role in the construction of the theoretical system of TCM in ancient East life wisdom,but also is worthwhile for Western life sciences to conduct in-depth exploration and discovery in the age of AI.展开更多
Can distinct objects occupy the same region at the same time?If someone has not been exposed to professional philosophy,they would very likely reply,“No!If a statue is already there,of course I can't put my cellp...Can distinct objects occupy the same region at the same time?If someone has not been exposed to professional philosophy,they would very likely reply,“No!If a statue is already there,of course I can't put my cellphone,or another identical statue in that region at the same time!”However,as is normally proposed in philosophical seminar,if the statue was created on Monday,and the piece of copper from which it was made was not created on Monday,by Leibniz's Law,one comes to the conclusion that the two objects are distinct,yet coincide,that is,occupy the same region,at some time.In what follows,Proponents of the view that coincident objects are identical will be called monists;and supporters of the position that coincidents are distinct will be called pluralists.In this paper,I will canvass Sosa's version of pluralism—‘explosionism'—and Burke's monism-‘the dominant-sortal theory'.In section 2,I will introduce Sosa's doctrine by showing what his argumentation is,how he disposes of‘the grounding problem',and how his thesis can be accommodated with our common-sense judgments.In section 3,I will present Burke's monism by displaying how his theory accounts for the identity relation of the coincident objects,and how he construes the persistence conditions that the only existing object in a given location has.My main purpose in this paper is to show that the explosionist thesis could raise a challenge to Burke's monism,and then to offer a possible solution to this challenge by resorting to conceptual relativism.These tasks will be pursued in section 4 and 5 respectively.展开更多
In the late 1970s,the theory of coal-formed gas began to take root,sprout,develop,and improve in China.After decades of development,a complete theoretical system was finally formed.The theory of coal-formed gas points...In the late 1970s,the theory of coal-formed gas began to take root,sprout,develop,and improve in China.After decades of development,a complete theoretical system was finally formed.The theory of coal-formed gas points out that coal measures are good gas source rocks,with gas as the main hydrocarbon generated and oil as the auxiliary.It has opened up a new exploration idea using coal-bearing humic organic matter as the gas source,transforming the theoretical guidance for natural gas exploration in China from“monism”(i.e.oil-type gas)to“dualism”(i.e.coal-formed gas and oil-type gas)and uncovering a new field of natural gas exploration.Before the establishment of the coal-formed gas theory,China was a gas-poor country with low proved gas initially-in-place(merely 2264.33×10^(8)m^(3))and production(137.3×10^(8)m^(3)/a),corresponding to a per capita annual consumption of only 14.37 m^(3).Guided by the theory of coal-formed gas,the natural gas industry of China has developed rapidly.By the end of 2023,China registered the cumulative proved gas initially-in-place of 20.90×10^(12)m^(3),an annual gas production of 2343×10^(8)m^(3),and a per capita domestic gas consumption reaching 167.36 m^(3).The cumulative proved reserves initially-in-place and production of natural gas were dominated by coal-formed gas.Owing to this advancement,China has transformed from a gas-poor country to the fourth largest gas producer in the world.The coal-formed gas theory and the tremendous achievements made in natural gas exploration in China under its guidance have promoted China from a gas-poor country to a major gas-producing country in the world.展开更多
